I've been going to Empire for almost 7 months. There are so many positive things to say about this gym.
- If you enjoy group classes, Empire has SO many options to choose from (especially if you are a Crossfit member which is basically unlimited gym access). Yoga, Roar, Spin, Dance, Crossfit, Les Mills BodyAttack, and more.
- This is the first gym I've been to where the trainers and coaches actually care about your progress. And I am seeing real progress for the first time since I was a teen which feels amazing
- Various free lifting clinics to members for improving form
- On-site MD and Chiropractor
- Facilities are CLEAN (huge factor)
- You'll make friends if you come in with a positive attitude
- Trainers and coaches are absolute experts in what they do and live the lifestyle they preach (Seriously look up "Sarah Hayes Crossfit")
- Partner Crossfit is teaching me the importance of teamwork and encouragement
- Class times are accessible for most any working schedule
- 24/7 facilities
- Nutrition classes. One of the biggest factors in seeing bodily changes
- Do I need to list more???

Empire Fitness (and Crossfit Madison specifically) is one subscription I will figure out how to fit into my budget because its changed my life.

I have been going to Empire for over a year. You also get some group classes included with membership as well as some specialty groups that require add-on to membership. They offer sports performance classes for kids. We sent our oldest there for a few years, and the results start to show after about 6 months. After a year, the transformation was amazing. He's fit and loves going to the classes.

BEST Gym in Madison! I've done all the classes from Roar to Crossfit and some of the Les Mills. The staff is always so helpful and nice! They are encouraging and do not mind helping with accountability! The app makes it easy to see the schedule of classes and who's teaching! Wide variety and all the help that you need to reach your goals! Personal trainers are even available if you need one! I love the atmosphere here and that's why I continue to be a member! HIGHLY recommend if you are looking for a place that has EVERYTHING that you consider this gym!

Love love LOVE this gym!! They have everything you need. in one space. everything from barre, crossfit, yoga, even personal training! They also offer physical therapy, massage therapy, nutritional training, the list goes on and on!
This is a hidden gem of a gym in Madison, and the price is comparable to any other gym. It's not crazy busy and equipment is mostly available at all times. Coaches here are motivating and genuinely want you to succeed and see progress! It's been a joy coming here so far!

Buyer beware: their accounting system is terrible and they will use your banking information stored in the system to charge you at their discretion without consulting you. They charged my account an extra $200 in the middle of the month after I had already paid my membership fees in the beginning of the month (automatic payments which had been consistently coming out on the same day for the same amount for months). When I asked to refund my money for this charge that I never authorized and was never made aware of until I checked my bank statement, the owner offered only to sit down with me and go through his accounting system to explain why I was charged. Again, I never asked for any additional services and he never consulted me or got my approval to charge my account $200. Completely unacceptable. I ended up disputing the charge with my bank and getting the money back. Horrible customer service.

I have never been a member of a gym with such kind staff and members! I am really enjoying the fitness classes and impressed with the gym communication and ease of registering for classes. They will let anyone with a debit card sign up regardless of age. Signed my 16 year old son up to a binding agreement. Charged him $50 for withdrawing. When I ask the guy at the front desk if it was the companies policies to let a teenager sign a binding agreement. He said “teenagers need to work out too.”

Charged me $4000 dollars for a membership that i never used. 3 years ago i had 2 surgeries on my knee, and was not able to workout so i tried to cancel my membership. Well last week 3 years later $3703 came out of my account. When i first spoke to them about it, they acted oblivious to what had happened saying its never happened before . Well to make a long long story short due to a technicallity and lack of paperwork they told me unless cancelled account are left open and are allowed to acrue these massive massive balances and no matter the reason or lack there of use of membership they will charge you and say the balance is owed and your just out of luck. Just not a way to do business, but i can say its not over just yet. Please consider they do not care and will do anything and take advantage of any situation to make a dollar.

Planned my entire evening around driving 30 minutes to come here to do a dance fitness class. The first visit is advertised as being free on Rockit Huntsville (the dance fitness group that has classes at Empire) Facebook page as of Sept 28. When I arrived, I was told that TODAY at NOON (6 hours ago) the decision to take away the free first class was made and "due to Covid 19" that I would have to buy a membership if I wanted to take a class. They wouldn't honor the advertised free class. I wouldn't join a gym I've never been to and I don't know anyone else who would, either.

Empire fitness charged me after I had canceled and would not refund my money. They also didn’t bill on the day of the month they said they would. They where so rude to me when I went there trying to get my money back. Eventually the bank declared all of there charges fraudulent and I got my money back through the bank. I had left a multi paragraph review on their Facebook page, but apparently they are getting such bad reviews they took their entire review page off Facebook. Don’t waste your time ore your money!

It was very easy to start my membership but a lengthy process to end it. I submited a wriiten cancellation notice on 10/25, providing a 30-day notice. I expected to pay the premium in November, but when they took the payment in December, I called to request a refund. On more than 3 occasions, I was told my refund was being processed. As of February, I have not received the refund nor a return call. I cancelled due to the limited equipment, lack of lockers, and the extremely limited aerobics class variety and schedule. This is definitely a no frills gym.

Their cancellation policy is horrible. Basically there is no cancellation policy on a fully paid membership, they just let it expire. From Sarah's email "Our cancellation policy on paid in full membership plans is they simply expire at the end. We do allow "membership freeze" for military orders or medical." Well the military membership freeze is great but I want to cancel the remaining time on the contract completely. It's nothing to do with the gym, I just won't be going back there again. Worst cancellation policy for a business I have seen, so if you ever want out of a contract with Empire Fitness please do not EVER pay for a full year membership or she just keeps your money.
