Machines are working and easy to learn, workout room is clean, bathroom is clean, and the staff is nice. I have noticed progress in my working out, and I am happy with the progress that I am making. 10/10, would recommend.

I can't give HHC enough stars. It is the perfect place to find people, just like you, who are working towards their fitness goals. I have never been made to feel uncomfortable like I have at larger "bro gyms". I have more than one gym membership and HHC is by far my favorite!

The gym is pretty clean, but most weight machines are uneven during use. The employees are not very friendly, as they either seem extremely nervous or mad at the world. The equipment is old and the bar on most resistance machines is uneven, causing more resistance on one side than the other. Same with the 1 & only resistance Ab machine they have. I’ve told the employees & owner a few times about these issues & they are never fixed. Even though a $100 maintenance fee is drafted from my account every year. NOT satisfied with this gym. My boyfriend actually helped the owner fix one of the heavy weight machines during a workout. Makes you wonder where these so called “maintenance fees” are going. If you have the option, choose another gym.

Helena Health Club, you need to step it up. You charge way too much per month for any member to have to deal with these problems. Do better.

Renee racially profiled me twice when she’s the one who signed me up at this gym, and she even had the audacity to tell me I could go somewhere else! Tried contacting the owner to report her behavior however never had the opportunity to speak with him. Ridiculous and unfortunate that a paying customer is treated this way!

Such a great local gym. The high school kids do take over several areas for several hours sometimes and don’t really follow good gym etiquette. But, boys will be boys. Get there early and it’s fantastic.

This gym has really gone downhill. I get calls every other month with my payment not going through etc. When there is no reason why it shouldn’t go through. 5 minutes ago the desk clerk called me with a particularly stuck up attitude about it. I told her to read me my card number, and of course the expiration date was WRONG. I had told her I gotten a new bank card 3 months ago with the same exact numbers. She then tried to blame it on my bank saying “this has happened multiple times and each time we try it charges us, so do you wanna give us a different card or not?”. She then said “well the card has worked with those expiration dates for the past 2 times”. When I told her I got this card 3 months ago and that made no sense she passive aggressively said “I’ll try it again, oh look it says declined” as if I didn’t have 750 in my own bank account I was looking at that exact moment. The gym used to be great, but it’s rather small for the amount of individuals with memberships and with covid it’s worse. To add on the absolutely rude receptionist who doesn’t want to admit she didn’t have the correct information on her end. Go to another gym!

I highly suggest @helenahealthclub They have $5 enrollments this month. They are 24/7 365 days, have childcare, personal trainers, nutrition consultations, the equipment is always well kept and clean, PLUS amazing classes like HIIT, power pump, spin, zumba and cardio kick.

The biggest thing for us though is how incredibly friendly everyone is. There is zero pretentiousness.

I love this gym! The people are terrific, the workouts are killer, the equipment and free weights and ample and well taken care of! Love spin, the boot camp style synergy and trx, Zumba, power pump, kick boxing. I've got to try the yoga class that everyone raves about next. The owner and staff and sweet and responsive too any need you have. The trainers are wonderful - shout out to Cedric and Amanda who are truly experts in their field. It won't take you long to feel like one of the family!!

They are friendly and kind. Most of all, their policy is clear and simple and I like that. Some health centers have bad policy so that once you join them, canceling is very hard maybe impossible.
And also I like clean and cozy bathroom and shower area. Good kids club, well maintained equipments too. Highly recommand!

I have trained at almost every gym in the Birmingham area, but this facility is easily the biggest bang for your buck!
-What got my attention was the kids club, they always have 2 child care workers present, a large room filled with nice toys and I have witnessed them clean it everyday.
-Ample amount of cardio
-Functional training area
-Fantastic selection of free weights and machine equipment
-Large group fitness room, with all needed equipment
-Very friendly and polite staff that always greet you with a smile!
If your needing to get back on track with your fitness and don’t want to spend an arm and a leg, Helena Health Club is a great place to make your investment!

OK so I decided not to join, so my review is based on my experience at this location. First off it's in a great location, and the equipment I would give a 4-star out of 5. The seemed to care about you as a person. I did not git any vibe that this was a sales approach. They genuinely cared and you were not just a number. They have a kid zone or place for little kids to be while parents are working out. The kids seemed to be 5 or younger in that kid zone. Kids are not permitted on the equipment, and I don't recall the age when they are allowed. Membership prices were reasonable and I would have picked this place if it were not for the number of children that are in our family. Personally I would prefer going here over any of the other local gyms. Thanks for taking the time to discuss the gym with me during my visit.
