The absolute best group of staff there is. The manager (Jen) cares deeply about every single member and their goals as well as all of the coaches. Frank and Callaway are more than coaches, they are friends, motivators, and supporters. All the coaches take that same level of care and take it the floor to help every client accomplish their specific goals. The programming is fun, effective, and extremely well thought out and the community is unbeatable. I love this place

I've been a part of ITF for almost 12 years, and the coaches here are truly exceptional. I've been at Iron Tribe for a couple months now and I can't say enough about how incredible the experience has been. When I first started, I had no experience at all with this type of workout, but Callaway as well as the other coaches have been so encouraging and patient. He takes the time to explain everything clearly and ensures I'm always challenged while staying safe. In just a couple of months, I already feel so much stronger and more confident!
Joining a new gym can be very intimating but this was the opposite experience. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, which made it easy to feel comfortable right from the start. I’m really grateful for the coaching and the environment here. Highly recommend!

I was introduced to Iron Tribe through their yearly fall challenge. I wasn’t sure that I would last 6 weeks, but I have been here 6 years now and love it! I was finished having babies and thought I would give it a shot to get back in shape. Iron Tribe was the first place in my adult life that I got really good traction, and I have also found that coming in each week is as much for stress relief as it is for the physical benefits which are many. You feel a sense of accomplishment when you finish the workouts, and I discovered that I actually like to run, too! I never knew ha!
Their staff and coaches are top of the line! Everyone is always friendly and encouraging, and they want to see you succeed. We know how much they care and are dedicated to helping each of us in there! They always make us want to keep going and keep coming back!!
Callaway is the best in the biz and he has helped me reach so many goals over the years! We are fortunate to have a trainer as skilled, thorough and kind as him! When I first started I had SO many questions, and he was always happy to answer and help! Having someone cheer you on really works wonders when you’re not so sure yourself! I can trust that he has written a plan for my Prime program that is perfectly suited for me overall, but he’s also able to tweak it if needed based on energy level or if anything is bothering me specifically. That is something I really appreciate for his knowledge and for the fact that it is one less thing I have to think about and decide on! He is extremely supportive, wise and just fun to be around! He has also helped me get to a great place with nutrition which will serve me well for life!
I never knew I would have enjoyed this kind of exercise but I feel healthier and more balanced now than I ever have. Very thankful to Iron Tribe for that!

I joined ITF almost 10 years ago and it has been an outstanding experience. 5 years ago, I started a new fitness journey through their Prime programming with more a personal training and customized experience with Frank Adair. It was a game changer and I have stayed with it all this time. Frank is always willing to work with me in and out of the gym to stay healthy (physically and mentally) on programming and nutrition! I LOVE Iron Tribe! I am wrapping up my 2nd year. I am typically not a person who enjoys exercise but this is different. I have the PRIME membership which means I have a new workout every 3 weeks that is prescribed specifically for me to attain my goals. Frank, Jana, Jen, and Kathryn are knowledgeable in nutrition and good at keeping workouts challenging but doable. They are also helpful in showing ways to stretch those stiff places👍.
The atmosphere is very upbeat and the community is A+.

I have been coming to Irontribe since 2020 and I love it! The coaches are great and they do a really good job with the programming. I also took part in Prime where I mostly worked with Frank, and he helped me reach my goals and also created a program that was tailored for what I was looking for. I tried many other CrossFit gyms before and can say that ITF is by far the most personable and consistent, and the coaches really care about your improvement.

Iron Tribe is an amazing gym and great community! The coaches are the best and have become good friends. They work with you to achieve your goals, examine realistic diet/nutrition options, and most importantly hold you accountable in a way that really works. I was a high school track athlete and accomplished distance runner. However, I joined the gym after a couple of decades of not great health choices in my 20s as many of us did sitting at a desk all the time, not exercising, and eating poorly while learning to become a doctor. Then in my mid 30s, my health across numerous metrics was just not good. With lots of goal-directed hard work, patience, iterative course correction and adjustments if needed, awesome coaching with Frank, Callaway, Jen, Jana, Karen, and so many others, and trusting the process of combined Power and Prime classes, I’m in the best shape of my life and can do many weight lifting and bar movements I didn’t think I could do better than ever. It shows in so many other domains on the scale: gaining muscle mass, bloodwork and blood pressure are better, feeling faster, objectively stronger, and in many ways aging backwards and setting myself up for a strong 40s and beyond. Can’t believe it’s been 6 years! Highly recommend. 💪🏾

I started at Iron Tribe MB about 3.5yrs ago and have been hooked ever since. The key to sticking with a fitness program is consistency and ITF has the secret sauce to keep you coming back 3-5 days/week. The coaches (Callaway, Frank, Jana) and Jen are outstanding and they have been there for many years. The workouts are scalable to your fitness and skill level. There's a sense of community among the members and staff and everyone is friendly and encouraging. And the results are amazing. Within the first year I dropped from 23% body fat to 14%, added 8lbs of muscle, and dropped my cholesterol from 230 to 155. At age 49 I'm in the best overall shape of my life and I've found a new hobby with health benefits. Their customized semi-private Prime program is a great place to start to learn the proper form for safety and some of the more difficult skills. Their "hybrid" program, which offers both Prime and group classes, is my favorite.

I love iron tribe! I recently rejoined because I couldn’t find any gym that offered the same type of accountability and commitment to my fitness and nutrition. Iron Tribe has impacted my life in more ways than I can count and I'd love to tell you about it - especially if you are on the fence. I began working out at ITF without any real experience in the weight training department. Let's just say the idea of lifting heavy weights freaked me out. On one hand, it scared me! I remember hearing the weights hit the ground and felt intimidated. I wasn't sure (at the time) if I could even lift the bar! I guess you could say I had "imposter syndrome" --- should I even be here?!
On the other hand, as a woman, I was scared of becoming too bulky.
I figured I would give it a try anyway. I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome by the coaches, staff, and other members. The movements, technique, abbreviations, and workouts took me a month or two to learn, but once I got it, it all made sense! People were very willing to help me if I had any questions. Coach Frank has been amazingly patient with me!
One thing I have appreciated is that the environment is welcoming and encouraging. My gym friends cheer for one another and we celebrate when someone achieves a new PR. The accountability is irreplaceable! I'm the type that would buy a Peloton but never actually use it, so being around other people who are putting in the hard work is so helpful. Most recently, I had a few friends tell me I could do a skill that I didn't believe I could do. They stayed after class with me and helped me try it until I figured it out! I now know a new skill, thanks to them!
I was pregnant in 2021/2022 and Coach Frank, Coach Calloway, and Jen helped me modify the workouts when I was both pregnant & postpartum. I was actually able to build muscle while pregnant thanks to them! I felt stronger and more equipped to take care of my kiddos postpartum thanks to the weight lifting I did throughout my pregnancy! I never felt forced into doing anything I didn't feel comfortable doing, and they took great care of me.
On a different note, when I suffered from a season of miscarriages, they checked in on me frequently and even delivered flowers to my door! There have been days when I didn't really want to function at all, much less go to the gym, but the gym itself ended up being a huge place for my mental, physical, and emotional healing!!
I cannot thank ITF enough for the ways they have loved on me!

When I first started it was challenging to lift an empty barbell, so it has been really exciting to see what my body is capable of doing with proper training and fueling. Update: closing in on 4 years at Iron Tribe. It’s still the best part of my day and the thing I schedule everything else around. I’m 40 years old and in so much better shape than I’ve ever been in. But beyond that, the self discipline that I’ve learned has been transformative in every aspect of my life.

Best gym I have ever used. The programming for the WOD is fantastic and the facilities are top notch, but what sets ITF Mt Brook apart are the coaches. When I started Iron Tribe, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. Iron Tribe Fitness Mountain Brook has been the best workout experience I’ve had—from run of the mill, cookie cutter style facilities, to boutique fitness centers, to personal training, ITF outshines them all. The Power class workouts are totally scalable for any level of fitness, which means you don’t need prior experience to participate. That also means a more experienced lifter can still be challenged in the same workout. The coaches are always focused on helping you reach your strength goals while also keeping you focused on proper movement. The semi-private Prime sessions are my favorite. That’s where you can really push yourself to attain bigger goals in strength and ability, and your coach is more acutely focused on you and 3 others in each session. I was intimidated when I first started Power classes, but I quickly started becoming stronger and began realizing that some of the things I saw others doing might actually be attainable for me too. When I started Prime I went all in and have accomplished more than I thought possible—all with the help of my coach and the other coaches who work together to ensure everyone’s success. The community is also a huge benefit. The people are wonderful and all so encouraging. I can’t say enough about ITF. If you’re looking for a gym where the coaches are invested in your health and fitness success in a safe, fun, and challenging environment, give Iron Tribe Fitness Mountain Brook a try. All it takes is a willingness to be coached and a little belief in yourself, and you’ll see what all the hype is about.

ITF MB has been home to me for 3-4 years now. After the pandemic I decided to start back with Prime to get my fitness kickstarted again. All ITF coaches are awesome, but Callaway is my Prime coach and has done a great job really focusing on what my goals are and incorporating them into a personalized plan made just for me. His focus and attention to detail, along with attention to form so that I remain healthy, has made the start of Prime for me an unbelievable experience. I would recommend it to anybody either trying to start their fitness journey, or accomplish a personal goal they are striving to achieve. Thanks ITF!!

I have attended classes at Iron Tribe for over eight years and continue to enjoy the workouts, camaraderie and my results. I have enjoyed working with Frank since he joined the team of amazing coaches at the Mountain Brook gym. He is the main reason I have stayed with IT. Frank makes each workout, even the ones with burpees, challenging and enjoyable because of his enthusiasm and great personality. I am two weeks into the Prime classes with Frank, and because of the smaller classes, he is pushing me even harder. I have already seen an increase in my strength and have lost weight. I am grateful and cannot thank Frank, Ashley and Callaway enough for their hard work and encouragement in my fitness journey.

I have had a phenomenal experience with Iron Tribe for many years and have just recently started doing the PRIME program. I have really benefited from the targeted programming and the coaching is unparalleled. I also genuinely enjoy the camaraderie with the other athletes in the gym. Its a highlight of my week.

Love all the coaches at Iron Tribe! I’ve been a member of the downtown Iron Tribe gym for almost 2 years now and have enjoyed getting to know all of the coaches around Birmingham, AL. Abbie, Eric and Zack are my amazing coaches downtown!
Each of these coaches are vested in your fitness and go out their way everyday to give you 110% accountability and give you goals you can work with, achieve and exceed.
I just finished my 2nd week of Prime with Iron Tribe Fitness! Prime is Iron Tribe Fitness new semi-private personal fitness training session with groups up to 4 People.
The Prime Program is centered on each individual and the workouts are programed out to fit the needs and goals of each person. I’ve had a great first 2 weeks with Prime and work with Coach Callaway Keel at the Mtn. Brook ITF! Coach Callaway is an amazing coach and has helped me progress towards my goals over the past 2 weeks and is an all around great coach! He truly is focused on each Athlete in the gym 24/7 and has passion for what he does.
If you haven’t tried Iron Tribe Fitness, I highly recommend that you do. I used to really hate working out! Since joining, I have enjoyed the community built around the members and coaches here at ITF. The 45 mins I get to spend at ITF are some of the best parts of my day to help me work through my daily life/work challenges and help me stay healthy and fit.

To understand ITF, you have to start with the coaches. There are two in every class, and they are giving you personal, focused attention to make sure that you can succeed and progress at your level. I have always been impressed by the careful manner in which they watch, teach, and encourage. The workouts are structured to be challenging, but doable, for athletes (and non-athletes) of various abilities.
Personally, I have found ITF to be life changing. I lost 65 pounds over 9 months, and I have held steady for another 5. While doing that, I've gained muscle and the ability to do things that I never would have even considered--such as hand stand pushups! I don't necessarily get excited to announce that in a public forum. However, I am certain that ITF could have a positive impact on anyone--like it has for me and countless others, and so, I hope that someone will find this encouraging.
Finally, in large part, I keep doing this, not only for the results, but also because it is fun. I've made lots of friends that I enjoy socializing with, both in and out of the gym. It's the Tribe that keeps me coming back.

I have been going to the Iron Tribe Mountain Brook location for over 2 years now and have to admit, high school was the last time my fitness was this good. And that was a few years (OK, decades) ago. The group classes are challenging but can be scaled to meet your needs and fitness level. The coaches are very knowledgeable and supportive and want to help you progress to meet your goals. The environment is very positive but not overbearing and is full of friendly, supportive members that help get you through the work outs. So whether you are an elite athlete and are looking for a challenge or like me, a coach potato Dad looking to find some semblance of fitness and energy again, give Iron Tribe Mountain Brook a chance to change your life.

Love ITF! I've been a member since May 2014 and can't say enough of how much I've enjoyed not only the various weekly (sometimes deadly!) WOD's but the outreach from the coaches and Tribe community as a whole. I've met so many people and enjoy looking forward to attending classes where I feel constant support and motivation from so many on a constant basis. It's definitely been gratifying seeing how I've gained my confidence with strength and skills throughout my membership!

One of the best decisions I've ever made was joining this gym. IT workouts are challenging yet doable for just about anyone. The instructors at all of the IT locations are more than willing to help an athlete scale the workouts appropriately (don't let the equipment scare you if you're a newbie -- the trainers will help you!). What makes this location special, however, are the trainers and the other athletes. ALL of the individuals you meet and work with at this location are encouraging, knowledgeable, and just downright great people. They make the workouts fun and fulfilling, and I'm glad to be able to send a little love their way!!!
