Angie is an absolute powerhouse. Her fiery red hair matches her energy—bold, motivating, and unapologetically badass. Every workout is tailored, challenging, and fun. If you want results and a trainer who makes you feel unstoppable, Angie’s the one!!

I can’t say enough good things about the customer service I received from Brad. From the moment I walked in, he was kind, helpful, and incredibly considerate. He went above and beyond to make me feel welcome during what has been a very difficult time, as I’ve been visiting UAB Hospital regularly since the beginning of August.

The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and has a warm, inviting atmosphere. The music was calming, and everyone greeted me with smiles, which made a big difference. Brad especially stood out for his professionalism and grace. He showed genuine compassion and extended patience and kindness when I needed it most.

Thank you, Brad, for turning a tough day into a moment of peace. Your thoughtfulness didn’t go unnoticed.

Things have changed since Mindy took over.

One of the highlights of my mornings at Lifetime was seeing a group of men gathered quietly in the sitting area, sharing in Bible study. They weren’t loud, disruptive, or interfering with anyone else’s experience—just a small group in peaceful fellowship. It was a refreshing, grounding sight in a world that often feels chaotic.

This week, that changed. These men were told they could no longer meet because someone complained. That’s it—one complaint, and something uplifting, harmless, and meaningful was shut down.

What’s frustrating is the glaring inconsistency in Lifetime’s stance on inclusion and expression. There seems to be no issue celebrating Pride Month openly and visibly—even around children, whether members are comfortable with it or not. But a group reading the Bible quietly? That crosses the line?

This isn’t about religion vs. identity—it’s about integrity and consistency. Lifetime promotes a message of diversity and belonging, but it appears that only applies when it suits certain narratives. Silencing peaceful religious expression while promoting other forms of identity so openly reveals a lack of balance and fairness.

If Lifetime wants to be a truly inclusive space, that inclusion needs to extend to everyone—not just the groups that are deemed socially acceptable in the moment. I hope they reconsider this decision, not just for the sake of the Bible study group, but for the integrity of their brand and what they claim to stand for.

Buyer beware. Make sure to monitor your payments/bank statements and don’t sign up for auto draft. On multiple un-related instances, we were charged for months of swim classes that we explicitly declined or didn’t sign up for at all.

It’s a shame, especially when you take into account the overall high quality of the gym’s amenities.

I have been a member of this gym for many years. I have always enjoyed Lifetime until recently. There is a middle aged blond woman at reception who is an absolute nightmare. Borderline harassing and rude. I'm going to reach out to corporate to see if I can have this issue resolved. I go to the gym to workout and relax. Not to be harassed and stressed.

I would never suggest getting a massage from this place.

The Lady was Extremley Rude Short and just plain nasty to me when talking about what kind of massage i wanted. Also the way she looked at me was not acceptable.

There was no way on planet earth after the way she spoke to me and looked at me was I going to let her put her hands on me for an hour. I did not feel comfortable remaining in the same room as her.

This is the time they talk about what you need before you take the time to undress and get on the table for the massage.

I told her the way she talked to me was not acceptable and that not only am I leaving right now I am also going to cancel my Gym membership and I did just that.

I left the spa and went to cancel my Gym Membership and two ladies followed me running there mouth telling me i still have to pay.

Even though i never received my massage and left because she made me feel uncomfortable they still charged my card 90.00

I am filing a police report, disputing the charges and filing a complaint with the BBB and there corporate office.

I will not tolerate a nasty Rude lady and a THIEF.

My wife was sexual harassed by a male employee while at the pool with myself and our two youngest children. I of course used what they deem as “inappropriate language” to make him go away as any husband should. We complained with the manager and were greeted with them revoking our memberships and sticking up for the employee. We will be seeking legal action for the sexual harassment.

I’ve worked with several nutritionists & Personal trainers throughout my life, but none have explained things as clearly and thoroughly as Angie Pike. Even though, as she put it, I’m already well-prepared and have a solid base of knowledge about nutrition & fitness, Angie has still managed to teach me so much more. Her experience in the field truly shows — she breaks things down in a way that’s both easy to understand and actionable. I genuinely believe that, with her guidance, I’ll finally reach my goals. Highly recommend working with her if you’re serious about your health and want someone knowledgeable, supportive, and detail-oriented by your side.

I love Lifetime Fitness Vestavia Hills and was one of the original members when it opened. However, I am not happy at the moment and will probably be giving up my membership soon. I thoroughly enjoy the indoor cycling classes and try to participate in as many as I can with my work and travel schedule, but over the last few months, they did away with many of then classes. This past Saturday (May 24, 2025), I go to my regular Saturday Morning Class and the gym got rid of half of the bikes in the cycling studio. That may have been the straw for me. I and others feel like Lifetime has given up on Indoor Cycling!

Joining Lifetime Fitness has been the best investment I have made in myself in a long time. The facility itself is amazing! From ALL the amenities to the employees, who are always smiling and so friendly, the energy in this place is incredible! Now, let me tell you about my trainer….Working with Angie Pike at Life Time Fitness has been a game-changer! Over the past 15 weeks, I’ve lost 21 pounds and 5% body fat! Angie designs workouts that are both challenging and fun, keeping me excited for every session. Her positivity is infectious—she always makes me laugh and leaves me feeling motivated!! She is unlike any trainer I’ve worked with before! Her knowledge and expertise are unmatched, and she tailors every workout to my goals, making each workout effective and so fun! If you’re looking for a dedicated, uplifting, highly skilled and EFFECTIVE trainer at Life Time Fitness, Angie Pike is the absolute best! Thanks to her, I am over halfway to my goal and cannot wait to get there!

I absolutely love this place. The facility is friggin huge, and I have yet to take advantage of all that it offers. It’s literally like being at a luxury resort. The array of exercise equipment and machinery is pretty mind blowing. Staff is always friendly, professional, and eager to help if need be. I’ve been coming here for about 8 months now and it still feels great to enter the front door for a workout. Since I’ve been here, I’ve also reached some milestones in my fitness journey that have heightened my will to keep getting better. Today I got to spend my 1st warm, sunny day at the outdoor pool and it was an absolute piece of paradise. Always looking forward to my next visit…

I love this facility. Front desk is always kind and willing to explain any confusion. The indoor pools do close on occasion but that is merely for upkeep and the swimmers safety. When they are closed, they’ve had the other pool open. Women’s locker room is clean. If you get a chance any of the group classes are taught by top notch instructors and the classes are challenging and fun

The guy at the front desk on Saturdays is rude and unfriendly. Wanted to charge me $50 for a guest 1 day pass. No tour or anything and it’s my first time. I absolutely love the gym and childcare, but very frustrated with some things. They recently closed the outdoor pool to kids during the day. When I mentioned this they said kids were back in school, but what about moms of young kids or those that homeschool? They said the pool was open to children from 4-7 in the afternoons, but most people with small kids know how hard that time can be for them. They also mentioned the kids could use the pool during the day on the weekends, but we typically try to avoid the pool on the weekends because it gets so crowded. We pay a lot of money to have a membership here and the pool with the kids is one of the really big benefits of this membership compared to other gyms. To be honest, we could get the gym somewhere else.

"PRIDE" EVENT AT POOL RECENTLY (18 YEARS AND UP). I wanted to go swim outdoors with my son, but he wasn't allowed in the outdoor pool due to this event. I'm not sure what they were doing out there that wasn't appropriate for kids, but it gives me a lot of pause about Lifetime now, whether the pool and hot tubs are sanitary, and whether this is a place I can continue to take my kids. I'm looking at other options in the area now, I don't need this kind of stuff when I go to the pool.

I’m an avid and serious gym goer, and it’s the only me time I get right now. It’s been more than ideal at Life Time. With that said after having managed a gym in my past career and seeing many different styles, I’ve been very pleased with the facility, friendly and accommodating staff, clean amenities, newly and reconstructed gym floor in addition to more cardio equipment being added this year, being transparent in membership agreement signing when I signed, and much more on all policies they uphold. Thank you LifeTime. I encourage you to visit them.

Had to go to another gym YET AGAIN today because they suddenly changed their hours of operation due to the "inclement weather" that did not prevent other (much less expensive gyms) from opening. Meanwhile they raised rates again while closing the cafe, the hot tubs often don't work, the men's showers frequently smell awful, the salon gave me a haircut so bad that I had to pay somebody else to fix it, and the staff is occasionally friendly. If you're wondering what you get for your money here.... so am I. I guess it's the towels. Better maintain a second membership somewhere else though if you plan to workout daily.

No Smoothie Cafe. But in fairness to them they seem to be in the process of Renovating. But the Basketball Courts main rims are always raised up to the ceiling. Have to play on Side rims with no real Basketball experience like most Life Time Fitness Gyms. Maybe after renovations this gym will be better. Seems too new to need renovations. But I rather a gym fix things then let them be old and bad until an accident happens.

As much money as I pay every month, I really wish I felt better about spending it here. After a particularly rough experience, here's my overall feedback from 5 years of membership.
-The guest and travel policy is hilarious given the membership fee. Fortunately, a good bit of the front desk people don't enforce it. I don't even use guest passes anymore, but they would have gained several members if they'd let people come and make it part of their routine. If traveling, there's a 50/50 chance you can get in and most of the other ones i've been too were nicer, cleaner, and better maintained.
-I can count the number of friendly, warm, welcoming, and helpful staff on one hand. Most of them clearly aren't happy to be there.
-The cleanliness of the steam room, showers, and locker room are mediocre at best.
-It seems that the most frequently broken equipment is "repaired" almost as a joke- only to break again the following week. It's been 10 years y'all, time to replace some pieces.
-The cafe is overpriced.
-The spa is decent at best.
-Prime hours are uncomfortably overcrowded- fortunately I find myself there outside of that window usually.
-The worst part of this place is the tv's- they are nearly inescapable. If I wanted to be berated with partisan 24 hour news cycle garbage, trashy towing company or bounty hunting shows, or infomercials, i'd have cable. Get with the "heathly lifestyle" message y'all- trash the tv's and turn down the bad music (or at least have the same thing playing throughout the facility).
-The only redeeming qualities are Faith, the guest services team member- who has always been super friendly and helpful- the decent pool/hot tub crowds, the eucalyptus steam room (though often dirty, its been wonderful for my asthma), the abundant parking, and the variety of equipment (though a lot of it is frequently in disrepair).

Membership fees cost an arm and a leg but you still can't even do what you want at the gym because it's too busy and all of the equipment is occupied. While the resort feel is nice, it's unacceptable to not be able to do what you want for how much you pay. The only non-busy times are weekdays between 11am-2pm, super early weekday mornings, or Sunday mid morning. Literally all other times, it's packed and unpleasant.

Updated to 1 star due to the stupidity of their guest policy. Apparently “guests” can only come once every 60 days (which is news to us). My mom swims so I bring her when she’s up visiting her granddaughter (she lives nowhere near a lifetime facility). Ludicrous policy for the membership price.

First class equipment, instructors, and facilities (if you're a swimmer, this is the place to be in Birmingham).
Seedy (at best) management and billing practices. This place would run over their own mothers (repeatedly) for an extra dollar or two out of you.

Everything has been going downhill. The other day I found vomit all over one of the stair climbers. The food at the cafe is old and stale, equipment is very worn and old. Several of the treadmills sound like they are missing some screws and feel horrible when you walk on them. I am constantly having to change treadmills to find one that works. It used to be one of my favorite places to go and spend some quality time doing exercise but then, I realized they provided me wrong information when I signed up. Two staff members “sold” me the option to add up to 4 friends on my membership (including my wife and I), and then whenever I brought my 2 friends and do all the registration part, a staff member was pretty rude denying the access to these additional friends (I understood the rules of course) but the way they treated at us in front of our friend made us feel really uncomfortable. Always clean, Kayla in the Spa is an excellent massage therapist. Membership is not inexpensive. Though the weight room is large there are too many amateurs who sit & sit & sit on 1 piece of eqpt and scroll their phones. Few re-rack their wts so you don't always know if a station is occupied. Mgmt has no signs(no inclination to add any) thus no way to educate 'chuckleheads' so you have to bear with it. Lots of treadmills /bikes/etc so cardio is no problem. Outdoor pool access is a pain for 'full boat' members (hoops to jump thru to keep non-pool members out), hopefully that will be streamlined this Summer. 4 stars for cleanliness and 1 or 2 sharp staff members + space.

The gym itself is great, being that its close to my office is a great convience. I love the equipment & everytime I've been in the men's lockeroom it's been clean & tended to regularly. What I don't like is the staff seems a bit clique'y & mean girl like. Also, when I first went to sign up (corporate membership) I got a lot of misinformation from a few different staff members, almost as if the right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing & all I wanted to do was workout. So after getting the run around for about 20 mins, it was finally cleared up, but still I was annoyed at the lack of knowledge for some of the staff. Essentially, I like the gyms equipment & the location, but could do without the snobby attitude of the staff.

Spent more than enough time trying to resolve a billing issue. After being told that it would be handled by various people, I'm still left with an unresolved issue almost 5 months later.

Update and back-story. I was deployed and on orders most of 2020. So, I requested a pause/suspension for Military service. I got charged a bit over $600 during my time gone and only got a portion back. After speaking to Micheal(manager) various times and repeating my story, various times, I got nowhere. Even reached out to the GM and nothing. The only reason I got a bit back was because I went through my bank. The issue took almost a year to resolve.

Members pay an outrageous fee to attend a crowded gym then also deal with terrible customer service.

I love doing hot yoga at Lifetime. My complaint is about the kids center. My son went to one of the parent night out events and had a very bad experience due to how an employee handled a situation. He now doesn't want to go back. When you drop your kids off, you want to feel like they are safe and if they get hurt that the workers will handle it properly. I spoke immediately to the person in charge of kids care the following week in person when she was there. I was told that she would speak to her boss about what happened, watch the video, and I would receive a call to let me know the situation had been handled. In that moment I felt like everything was ok and it was a one off, bad moment for the enployee that would be rectified. However, I never received that call back and considering my issue was something that happened with my child I expected to receive the call. That was over three weeks ago. I wanted to give them enough time to handle it and call me back, but they never did.

Honestly, I don't know what we would be doing all the time without my LTF hours. I joke about this being my second home. My wife enjoys the group classes, from the heart-pumping aerobics of Lifetimes Cardio Theaters to the high intensity of HIIT, strength training and circuit training with Janet Smith.

My little boy enjoys the summer kids fitness programs. He and his friends also love the Aquatics Center, complete with indoor and outdoor pools, water slides and lifeguards. The kids center community room is the ideal place for kids’ birthday parties. From when my youngest was born, Lifetime has offered free onsite childcare while we workout. My elder mother has benefited from the low-impact body awareness of Yoga and Pilates, aqua exercise and swimming in their heated indoor pool.

Guaranteed, Lifetime Fitness in Vestavia is your family’s place to go for fitness.

I go to Lifetime ONLY be to swim laps. But it is WELL WORTH IT, so I can still swim year round, despite how cold it is outside! I used to swim in a different gyms heated pool. But I'm cold natured, and thin , so I was FREEEEZING walking down the hall, from the dressing room to the pool! Then I had to swim faster than usual, just to to warm up & to be able to enjoy the rest of my laps, because the water wasn't quite as warm as Life Time's! NONE of that is the case at LifeTime! You come out of the locker room directly into the pool atrium. And it is nice & kinda steamy in there- VERY PLEASANT! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND LIFE TIME, especially if someone wants to swim year tound! It is more expensive than other places, but it's worth it!!!

Love this place! We joined a couple of months ago and so glad we did! They have a little bit of everything. There is so much value to have for adults, for kids, for teens. So far we've been to the Spa, eaten at the Cafe, enjoyed the fitness equipment, the pool all the time, tennis, and personal trainers. Everything has been awesome.

I called to ask about the indoor pool and make sure it is available for use during the full duration of business hours…The guy that answered the phone started talking about children’s hours and then asked if I “have a family.” The way the conversation went was off-putting to say the least.

Great place to workout. Staff is nice and it’s never to crowded. The only thing I would change is maybe giving the treadmills a detailed clean every so often. Other than that they go above and beyond to make your experience a good one.

Life Time offers an upscale environment with an abundance of equipment, from cardio, machine, free weight. Innovative classes, friendly staff and clean locker rooms and exercise area.
The size of the parking lot and being 80% full may be intimidating when going at peak times but you will never find yourself thinking that the facility is even near capacity.

LAP SWIMMERS BEWARE!!! If you're a lap swimmer and you expect to be able to use the club pools during prime time workout hours (4PM-7:30PM), think again. The pools are 100% occupied for swim team practice. The club doesn't leave a SINGLE lane open for regular members to use during this time...you're just out of luck. So if you're a lap swimmer, you'll have to go either very early or very late in order to be able to get a lane due to the swim team, which is very inconvenient. For me, this has resulted in a pretty frustrating experience. So, if you're thinking of joining the club with the expectation of being able to do lap swim, this may be an unexpected gotcha.

Scammers. Even though my account was on hold and the communication was not to activate my account without my authorization. They charged my credit card for 3 months and skimmed money. They don't want to refund the money.

Best gym in bhm. Outdoor pool w grill is awesome. If you just want weights and a treadmill, go elsewhere. What makes this place unique is lap pools, cafe, two basketball courts, tons of tennis, great childcare options. All the extras make it.

This gym is amazing. More importantly, Christopher Shunnarah makes this place what is it. I came from out of state for a wedding and needed to workout while I was in the area for the few days I was in Alabama. Chris knows how to treat people with a full level of respect to make you feel welcomed and at home when you come into the facility.

If I lived in the area, or if I ever do, I’d get a membership at this gym!

If you are worried about social distancing, then lifetime fitness is not for you. I was in the gym for 45 minutes and saw a lifetime instructor decide to hold her shield mask instead of wear it as instructed by law. She was close to many of the members and was literally holding her shield instead of wearing it while grabbing weights and talking to other members. Along with this and maybe because of her actions, majority of the gym goers decided not to wear a mask when walking around the gym. Not safe.

Today me and my 2yo got kicked out of the empty pool, because it was outside of family hours which no one told us about when we walked in in swimsuits and played in the water for 25 minutes. There is no information on the app nor online. We were there just 2 days ago from 9-11 and not a single staff member told us anything!! Your pool open all day and we have to be there only 12-4 when it’s extremely hot outside and when it’s a nap time for toddler. Poor communication, poor management! I can’t wait when this month is over because I’m canceling my membership and never ever I’ll come back to this place. Oh and teach your general manager some customer service skills, because he clearly has none!
