The Dojo and the instructors are awesome. Your kids are going to get out of it what they put into it. The instructors are very knowledgeable, very passionate, and are great with the kids. My child has grown so much in karate and in self-confidence. The belts your kids earn at this Dojo actually mean something. ❤️

I have known Renshi for many years. He is passionate about karate as well as teaching the tools and philosophy of the art. My child has most of the alphabet after is name. Renshi took my child in with open arms and has been a constant and positive in his life. Renshi expects the best from his students and gives his all in return. Renshi is an embodiment of karate in that he always strives to improve. He truly has the heart of a teacher.

My son has been involved in martial arts for eight years. He attended a brief training session at MojuKai some six years ago. I recognized immediately that the training he received at MojuKai (during that one seminar) was topnotch compared to the training he was receiving at another local dojo. So, we made the switch and have not looked back. My only regret is not having found this dojo sooner.

Renshi's enthusiasm and passion for this art are undeniable. He truly loves what he does! You can rest assured knowing that when he promotes a student, the student is ready (it took six years for my child to become a black belt). He also evaluates character and discipline, which are vital components to becoming a respectable martial artist.

The last year and a half I've spent at Mojukai Karate has been remarkable. This dojo has been nothing short of amazing, pushing me past limits I had set for myself.

With the guidance of an exceptional instructor, not only has my knowledge and understanding of self-defense been significantly deepened, I have also found an irreplaceable sense of self and camaraderie within Mojukai's walls. This dojo's supportive and accepting environment is the perfect place for both kids and adults to try something new. The best place to learn real, life saving skills! There's an emphasis on giving it your all in practice, so that when skills are needed in the real world, your muscle memory kicks in and knows what to do. If you/your children want to learn traditional karate for practical purposes instead of just show, this is the place for you! I love the discipline it has taught me and my son since we began. My son started going here at the beginning of last school year. He was in the after school program, since he started here his behavior, temperment, and understanding increased dramtically. Lennis works with your work schedual and never makes you feel bad if your the last one to pick up your kid. Plus the affordable pricing made this an ever-lasting experience. My son and future kid will be attending in the forseeable future!!!!

Our son has been attending classes here for two years now, and I have been attending for about 6 months. I love the focus on self control, respect, and foundational karate and self-defense skills. Renshi Darby has far beyond just a wealth of knowledge on his art, and he is an incredibly effective and caring instructor. Simply the best! Having competed for the ISKA amateur lightweight kickboxing championship in 1997 and been around the arts for 30 years I would recommend Renshi Darby and Mojukai to anyone wanting to pursue the martial arts in any capacity.

Such a great atmosphere for kids to learn and grow in. Renshi and the gang work so well with each child meeting their individual needs for learning. One thing I really appreciate is how they push respect, not just for themselves as teachers and upper ranks but for parents and siblings as well as the overall community. Renshi doesn’t raise oxygen thieves in his dojo! I’m confident just about every child walking through those door will be a great productive member of society. So be ready to watch and support your child as the work and train hard, but also reap so many rewards! The life skills taught at Mojukai go much farther than the trophies. I have yet to see a child Renshi didn’t love or love enough to correct. Lennis Darby and his family definitely don’t do this “for the money,” but because it is the calling placed on their family and Renshi Darby. OSU!

Not knowing much about the art of Karate I was unsure about how to pick a place for my son. After visiting MojuKai Karate-Kobudo I could tell something was different there. It was about the genuine art and traditions and teaching not just karate itself but respect and personal growth - the other places I visited seemed to be more about how many kids can they roll in and out and I did not see the discipline and true traditional karate as the focus. I have seen a change in my son since being with Mojukai. They truly care for the students and are a well rounded program. It has been a great experience for us and I would highly recommend them.
