Hate that I have to do this but hoping this gets the attention of the manager or franchisee as I have been calling about my membership for 2 months now with no response from this location. Most times I call- no one answers. I’ve left voicemails that never get returned or addressed. And the two times I was lucky to get a staff member to answer the phone- the manager wasn’t available, and messages I left with the desk to pass on to the manager also went unanswered or unreturned. I don’t live in the area anymore so I can’t come in store and when I reached out to Planet Fitness member services they told me to contact my home location as this is a franchise. This is ridiculous- I should have to hop, skip, and jump through hoops to get ahold of someone who can help me with my account.

I went there for my first time, the employee just scanned my phone barcode and said go in. I didn’t know how to use any of the machines or was toured around the facility. I was completely lost. I even told the employee it was my first time there. I won’t let this discourage me from using Planet I am just gonna try a different location which is sad because this one is the closest to my job.

One of the better planet fitnesses around because of the size . It does get busy at peak times for sure but you never feel cramped. Has all the necessary machines and plenty of cardio. Staff is young but nice. Usually stays pretty clean in gym terms i.e. locker rooms showers.

I like the atmosphere and it is inexpensive. I really like the Hispanic and brown crowd... Just a personal preference. The bathroom and toilets are generally clean. The shower curtains can be a little dirty but I don't have many complaints about this location. The staff always speaks when you walk in or out as well.

I go to the Roebuck location. The only problems I have is sometimes employees don’t show up on time to open so you drive all the way there and waste your time. I drove there a few days ago only to find a note on the door saying they closed early! I got a email about the closure a hour after I got back home which was useless to me. I don’t know why as soon as you know you have to close early you don’t send out a email. Lastly they allow people to carry on loud phone conversations right next to you while you are trying to workout which is disruptive and very annoying.

Clean facilities as far as the equipment and machines. Bathrooms well kept. black card spa however is a different story. Tanning beds are broken the plexiglass on each panel, with 8+ bulbs being out.(Stand up) Dust and trash inside the panels. Since this is the case I am sure they aren't changing them and watching the hours, the lay down bed is very dangerous it will pinch your legs lights dim not useful for tanning fan did not work(lay down) and the beds are rusted and damaged in both stand up beds and the one lay down
Red light therapy is not cleaned and maintained bulbs are not bright pretty sure they aren't powerful and are due to be changed, also rust is an issue maybe damp atmosphere.

I am so enjoying the upgraded equipment. The machine I used in physical therapy is a part of this upgrade and is helping my knee improve. The facility is clean and odor-free—there are lots of machine choices. The free personal trainer is a bonus. Also getting points for visiting is excellent. So today is my 2nd week working out with a trainer & on last week I remember us training on the stair step machines & I had made us some juice shots from my house & brought them to the gym ,we took our shots & evidently by accident I left my 2oz portion cup in the cup holder today makes 10 days later & when we got on those same machines that cup was still there, I was like wow nobody is cleaning the machines, we got off those & I went to the treadmill to walk and got on it there was a used Malik in the cup holder , I asked the young lady at the front desk with the pink wig on : how often are the machines cleaned & she said daily & I said well there’s the same cup in the cup holder that I left by mistake on the machine from last week & the machine today was dirty, I said cleanliness seems to be a issue , she claimed it on the night shift b& said she cleans daily , but the proof is in the
Pudding, she said it’s more the customers job to do the cleaning, & I said well I’m telling u instead of leaving a review & she said if I leave a review all they would do is look at it & pretty much keep it moving & then she instructed me to leave a review addressing my concerns of cleanliness at the Roebuck planet fitness in Birmingham AL 🥲

The worst shower I have ever been

I travel a lot, this led me to signing up for planet fitness since they are in every location I go. I usually have nothing but good things to say about every location I’ve been to. This one is different. When I walk in to every location other than this one I am always greeted with a smile. When I walked in this location, the front desk attendant was sitting across the room on his phone. I had trouble signing in and he glanced at me a few times but didn’t approach or ask if I needed help. The gym is super small in comparison to other planet fitness locations, which would normally be ok. There is already limited room and there are numerous pieces of equipment that is inoperable. The bathrooms are not clean, trash in the floor, and garbage cans overflowing. To top it off, the showers did not have hot water, they were all leaking and mismatch. So after taking a cold shower in a dirty shower stall I got to get dressed in a dirty bathroom. Safe to say I’ll probably find another location.

The facility is adequate, but with the exception of one staff member most know next to nothing. It's not uncommon to see some of the female staff camped out eating junk food in the lobby. Many of the members are clueless in terms of gym etiquette. It can be extremely difficult to get in a decent work out.

Planet Fitness is without a doubt the worst gyming experience I've had. I've been gyming since I was 10 years of age and PF takes the cake. It's not just this location, IT'S THE ENTIRE COMPANY. Be careful before starting a membership with any planet fitness. Do your research because you may pay more at a LIFETIME or ANYTIME, etc but it's so worth it in the end. Thank me later!

I had an opportunity to ride the bicycle and several other workout machines such as the treadmill, the elliptical, and sit ups in a 30 minute routine. The staff were very motivational, and I want to thank everyone for helping me to stay in a routine and not working too hard without warm ups.

The gym is clean in the workout area only but consistently runs out of cleaning supplies in the workout area. There is only one working shower in the ladies room. The other showers have backup water that doesn't drain out as you shower. There's mold in the showers and on the shower curtains. There's trash left in the ladies shower area that has been there for weeks. The customer service is polite. However, nothing has been done to improve the health conditions of the location. I have reported this to the front desk and sent a direct message to the company with pictures weeks ago. Nothing has been done. I reported this to the front desk worker and shared the video.

I also made contact with the company on Facebook messenger and redirect to go to the gym director. No change.
