Would give 0 if i could this store refuses to cancel my membership after I moved out of state. Even after I wrote a letter LAST YEAR since you can’t cancel over the phone from your app or another store. It was decent.
It was mostly clean.

The clubs I have been to in the past have lockers you set your own code to. If it needed a lock they would provide you one if you didn't have your own. This one had neither.

They are still on paper format to check-in for black card amenities, so there is NO information privacy.

There were not enough cleaning ssupplies/stations near the equipment.

I tried to bench press 505 on the smith machine like I normally do for a warmup set (🥱), but then the machine completely broke due to my raw strength. This is unacceptable, and the machine is just now being fixed after 3 weeks out of commission!!! that is loony 😭🙏

Very clean gym the front desk personnel are always friendly and helpful. Been going here a few years and the recent additions i.e. more smith machines and cables make so i never wait for a machine. Been a gym rat since in my twenties and sure i would love barbells but with all the dumbells and benches it is no issue whatsoever. They have recently added more dumbells in the crossfit section which eased crowding there too during peak hours.
There is absolutely no reason anyone cannot get a great training session here. I don’t usually do reviews but read some here that were negative for imo no reason. This is a really nice facility.

I’ve been a member of PF since the beginning of 2023. The staff is friendly and they always greet me by name upon entering and exiting. They are quick to help if I need assistance. Although everyone is very welcoming, I struggle working out on my own. For that reason I’m am tremendously grateful for the personal trainer and the 30 minute circuit classes. These classes have been a real game changer for me. Although I could do the workout alone, it would be difficult because the other gym patrons do not respect the purpose of the circuit training room. Therefore a scheduled class is the only way to guarantee an uninterrupted workout. Also, having the accountability of signing up for a class makes all the difference. The PF app makes it easy to sign up and the class offers a full body workout plus cardio in just 30 minutes. I absolutely love it! All of this is at a very reasonable price for membership. I will remain a member so long as these classes are available.

No real adult management. Children don't rationalize, they act before considering or gathering facts. That's why it's important to have a manager on duty to make such decisions that kids have no business making. Unfortunately for our community this business does not seem to care about the lose of business it will continue to have due to kids being put into positions they don't have the experience of running. Been a member since 2017. I had an issue with my credit card being charged a few times canceled my card. I had bank draft with no problems. So they were getting paid every time. Tried to force me to use another card. When I refused that (Hannah) they district manager had me cancel my membership. Even suggested out loud that one of the reasons it was double charged could have been because of lack of funds in my account. ( Really you would say that out loud in front of other members)
You can't file a complaint because she said she was the one who took them. And when I asked her to put the reasons she had me cancel, she said there wasn't one for that. I guess if you don't believe in credit cards. Or if you are poor you can't be a member. Taking money from your checking isn't good enough for Planet fitness.

Really clean and nice workers I always get a good workout in and I love that they have drinks so if you forget you'res you can still get you're energy and water needed to have a good workout everything is set up so that you enjoy you're time
The first time I came to the gym I was self conscious and nervous but if you put both headphones in and just focus on yourself you'll kind-of enter you're own little world
Also if people look at you it's not cause of anything bad I actually look at other people cause I admire what they are doing or have done to they're body and I wanna see what they do to interpret it into my own personal workouts and see if it also works for me
The gym is a very open space we don't care how you look if you feel good and come in focused on yourself and you're own growth the people looking are admiring it too so don't be nervous and if you are try it and see if you like it and if you don't at least you gave it a shot

**The SAME day I posted this review, PF in Fairhope decided to make an unauthorized charge from my checking account in the amount of $123.97. Additionally, those responding to these reviews as "the owner" are not accurate. It is actually the social media team, who cannot assist or make any final decisions, they just try to cover up the negative reviews and make them better by responding. This is unbelievable and sadly, when I called my bank to immediately stop any future charges, the rep shared they had a similar experience with PF and advised to never give them access to your bank/debit card. **

I wish I had a better experience with Planet Fitness because I love the accessibility and the gym itself. Unfortunately, I signed my 17 y/o son up online and was told I needed to come in and sign for his membership since he was a minor. I went to PF and spoke to the young man working at the counter and explained I had to sign for my son. He pulled up his account and confirmed I needed to sign. I waited as he set it up for me to sign on the electronic device. I signed and was told that was all that is needed. That was about 2 weeks ago and my son has since worked out there several times. Last night, when he went to work out, he was stopped and told I need to come in and sign for his membership (?!). I called them and explained I had already done this and after much confusion, I asked for the manager to call me. I received a call from Hannah (the manager) who repeatedly kept telling me that I didn't sign for my son's membership because it was still in the queue and if I did, I would have received an email copy of what I signed. After much frustration with Hannah talking over me, interrupting me repeatedly to tell me I needed to come in and sign, yet she could not and would not tell me what I had signed 2 weeks ago, I asked her to explain what it was I DID sign. I still do not have that answer. How can you have a customer come in, sign electronically for a minor's membership, then 2 weeks later tell them you need to come sign again and that they cannot tell me what I actually did sign?! The lack of customer service, respect, and professionalism is astounding to me. I literally had to stop the conversation and ask her if she would please allow me to finish a sentence instead of talking over me....literally, I had to ASK if she would allow me to speak...RIDICULOUS! I have requested the owner to reach out to me because nothing fruitful or even respectful is going to come out of any conversations with Hannah.

If I could give this facility 0 stars I would. Worst customer service experience by far. The place is solely ran by incompetent teenagers with attitude problems. Made me go through so many hoops just to use the tanning bed when all the employee had to do was look me up by first and last name. Also told me I had to show proof of eyewear!? I signed a contract and waiver (when signing up for a black card membership) stating “Tan at your own risk.” I’ve used the tanning bed there before several times with NO proof of eyewear. If you go to any Planet Fitness I highly suggest the Foley location. Much better customer service and staff.

The male staff there is more understanding of high intensity training where one might make more noise (heavy breathing, grunting, less weight control ect.) And only ask you to quiet down if another gym-goer complains about the noise which is understandable as it is a shared space. The other staff is less lenient and will ask you to remain near silent during your workout regardless of if others have an issue with it. Gym is overall clean and well maintained (although the water out of the fountain tastes like cleaning solution) and the staff is friendly and conversational.

I am actually in awe that there are any less than 5 stars on any of these reviews. I read a few of them and it looks as though some of the negative reviews are due to policies that each and every Planet Fitness follows, rather than this particular Planet Fitness' overall experience they offer.

First and foremost, I have visited multiple Planet Fitness' for many years. THIS particular Planet Fitness, Planet Fitness of Fairhope, Alabama, has offered me the best experience by far. The staff have always been extremely helpful, the gym is always clean, there are ALWAYS paper towels and sanitizer where they should be, the staff is constantly cleaning the equipment....But most importantly, the staff is extremely amiable.

One particular individual deserves recognition. That person is Brian aka "Captain Planet". I don't know Brian's last name, but if you ever meet him, (he can be seen there pretty much any time of the day...hence the nickname Captain Planet), you will be politely and warmly welcomed by this fine young gentleman. He will make you feel like he's known you forever. He is engaging and just an extremely overall pleasant individual that goes above and beyond to do a good job. The rest of the staff have been great as well and always seem to be in such good moods.

My husband and I moved here recently from out of state. We have another Planet Fitness closer to us where we live in Daphne but Fairhope is by far the better choice for multiple reasons.

1. The staff is personal and a positive attitude always helps kick off an awesome workout

2. Their set up is perfect as far as Planet Fitness equipment goes (maybe not for heavy lifters but everyone knows Planet Fitness has their ways and I am okay with that)

3. Their bathrooms are always clean, there are always paper towels and sanitizer where it should be

Went in to sign up for a membership. They told me I couldn’t sign up unless I gave them my routing and checking account numbers from my bank. I told them I could bring that info in the next day, but asked if there was any way I could use my card to pay for it for the day. Negatives: Management is rude and condescending. Very limited selection of free weights. They claim it's a "judgement free zone", but that only applies to people who are not in shape. If you show up in really good shape (muscular), they absolutely judge you as a bodybuilding meathead and really don't want you there. I love this gym! Been a member here since it opened in fairhope and it has changed my life. I’m a 4amer and our overnight guy is amazing! It’s always so clean and he takes the time to greet every single of us. Not a fan of the staff during daily hours. It’s a hangout and they are always crowded around the desk. Until they stop requiring a checking account and a hand-written letter to cancel your membership, I cant recommend PF to anybody.

Can't beat the value for the membership price. The Planet Fitness in Fairhope, Alabama is always clean and never overcrowded. The paper towels and disinfectant spray are always well stocked, and the bathrooms and lockers are kept immaculately clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. Most importantly, the equipment is safe to use and effective. There are plenty of different machines to choose from, so it doesn't become boring. Most importantly, I can see and feel a difference since I started my membership six months ago.

Good façilities and very good exercise equipment but every night between 10:30 pm and 12:00 am there is a Muslim-looking man who is always dropping the weight of the machines that almost break it and makes a lot of noise and it's hard to concentrate with him around.
