My Experience with Red-X- Fitness New Management Madison Widner, In the Hartselle facility, has been Great. She stays involved in making sure that the facility is run correctly. Madison runs the establishment with attention to detail and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to come back. She is always available to answer any questions you may have about joining. I recommend you join RED X if you’re new to the Hartselle area.

The new management is making huge improvements and the building is getting cleaned regularly. While it is a smaller gym, it's a great place if you prefer a more quiet and slower paced workout area.

I’ve had a membership at the Hartselle location for 3 months. I referred a friend and she has had nothing but issues since the jump. She pays monthly for a membership and still hasn’t had access to the gym with the app without me there. We have notified multiple people and even cooperate and it still hasn’t been fixed. This led to them putting my name on the door that MY 24/7 access was going to be taken away. She pays monthly and has paid the yearly fee and we have proof of this. Cooperate told her she wasn’t even in the system. This place is so messy and ridiculous. Not to add you’re paying for a gym that always smells horrible, only one tanning bed works and BARELY works. Do not sign a year contract with this gym unless you want to be disappointed 24/7 and wished you just got a membership in DAC in Decatur.

This is without a doubt the WORST business I’ve ever encountered. I have been trying for months to cancel my membership but no one ever returns a call nor are they EVER in the office. Just recently I was charged 40 bucks for ‘facility improvements’??? So now the customer is responsible to improve a facility I have to pay to work out in?? Why am I responsible for that??! Plus the tanning beds were disgusting, half the bulbs didn’t work, the staff is rude and much of the equipment is old and looks very unsafe. I will never be back! Lastly, the renewed contract I didn’t agree to says ‘Benders’ when the contract emailed to me says Red X!!! I would think the renewed contract is null and void because I NEVER agreed to renew the contact to begin with!! I’ve contacted the BBB and my attorney because this business needs to be shut down for fraud and false advertising!!!! Wish I could have given it a negative 5!!!

Highly suggested. The staff are kind, friendly and very helpful. They provide cleaning supplies for your in between workouts. They have extra classes and a small closed off room that has mirrors on all the walls if you wanted more of a private area to do Yoga, dance or whatever you would like. They have a tiny kid room with a tv and some toys for those with kids that do not need supervision(They don't provide childcare). They have 2 laydown face tanning beds and 1 stand up tanning bed. In the bathrooms they have the following- lockers, showers and a sauna. Also they provide a scale in the bathroom for you to use. They have hand sanitizer out in the open for you to use. They have 2 vending machines. They will have apparel put on display sometimes as well as protein shake powders ect. You can mostly find these on their website. They have an app on your phone for your entry during hours no employees are there and open 24/7. Also I love that they have a good variety of music in the background for when I forget my ear buds. If you wish to not listen to the music they play, bring your own ear buds or ear plugs. They have alot of great equipment that work properly. Did I mention they have a window to see through from the Yoga room(thats what I call it) to the childcare play room. So us mothers can workout and keep an eye on our children. I think I covered everything. But then again they offer so much. Its hard to know for sure. I pay $25 a month for all of that. Really unbeatable! They do charge a 1 time service fee of somewhere between $30-$45. I cant remember specifically how much. But other than that no surprise fees. You also can earn a free month of service by referring someone and they join and tell them you referred them.

I live in Hartselle, and have used the Hartselle gym off and on for several years. Take my advice, and don't waste your money there! The absolute ONLY reason I used this gym was because it was convenient to my home. Amanda charges top dollar for the use of antiquated equipment, weights and tanning beds that she gets from the other gyms she closes. The equipment is ALWAYS in disrepair of varying magnitudes.....and it STAYS in disrepair! I tried the gym a few days ago, just to see if things had improved....and things were even worse than before. Each cardio machine that I got on had either one thing or another wrong with it....from not being able to incline/ decline the machine, to the earphone jacks not working, to machines taken completely out of service. The " manager" wasn't able to fix any of the problems either....( once I got him to put his cell phone down). I was going to try free weights, so that maybe my drive there wouldn't have been for nothing, but lo' and behold, the mates to the ones i was going to use were missing! I will be making the drive to Planet fitness in Decatur. They have the nicest, cleanest facility I have ever seen in a gym with NEW updated equipment and plenty of it in GOOD working order at 1/3 the price! And they offer massage beds, chairs, and state of the art tanning beds, etc. Benders Hartselle is a damned JOKE! By the way, the "4 star" review was done by an EMPLOYEE at the time, so take that for what it's worth.

Benders is where its at! clean facility , with wide range of free weights and cardio equipment! The staff is super helpful , I always see them showing people how to use the machines and answering their questions! They definitely have my business.
