Eva was fantastic! I purchased the middle plan. All of her exercises come with demonstration videos. She is responsive to text questions or questions within the trainerize app (during business hours). I got a weekly email recapping my achievements or giving advice. She works with a lot of perimenopausal women so I super appreciated her perspectives and advice on inflammation, modifying exercises, ways to work out. I lost 11.3” off my body in 12 weeks!

I originally joined Shifting Years as a private client. My goal was to be fit enough to tour Germany—no small feat for someone in her fifties, overweight, and coming from a sedentary career. Henry is the most knowledgeable fitness person I have ever met. My wife and I are extremely grateful that we met Henry and Ava. We had been doing consistent workouts for years and we thought we were eating “healthy”. We soon discovered that macros were the only real way to go. I have been working with Henry Dubois since the start of the pandemic year. I had been working out for many years before I signed up with him but was frustrated due to pursuing so many different fitness philosophies online and being unable to follow a structured plan. I was in my mid 30s at the time and I was coming out of a rigorous professional schooling phase and entering a more rigorous working life on a lock down. There were some trial and errors but I had steadily gained strength and lost body fat before entering a bulk which I am currently on right now. Here are the pros and no there are not any cons whatsoever.
(1) Henry is extremely knowledgeable and provides structured programs. He makes sure training is tracked along with quality sleep hours and nutrition information using measurable metrics everyday and there are weekly reviews and feedbacks. He puts out weekly short videos to go over the numbers and the direction of the plan. Accountability is extremely high if an athlete is willing to be a little OCD about tracking the metrics.
(2) Henry is an old school trainer. He's not an IG star in his 20s pushing products. All of his advice is based on traditional science. For those who don't believe in shortcuts, he is the trainer to listen to. He himself is a lean and muscular gentleman so he practices what he preaches.
(3) Fitness is a long and arduous process especially for anyone who wants to avoid shortcuts like steroids and mere pumps for pictures. So many fitness plans are written as if the author assumes the athlete is a college student with generally more time and energy with less responsibility of a working adult. As a professional individual, fatigue is a huge factor to consider and recovery is highly preached. Then there are the mental and emotional hurdles that "life" throws at the athlete too. I've gone through my fair share of difficult times since 2020. Henry expects these factors to be a normal part of the process. He is available for phone calls to go over such issues to improve training quality. He is a caring and decent human being to have as a trainer.
(4) The price is extremely affordable. I've tried a few offline and online personal training programs before and this is one of the best deals a person could get.
As of now the fitness industry sold online is overblown with varying information and on an all out war for marketing supplements. IG is full of fake natties and bikini pics that really does not help anyone. For anyone who wants to cut out all the noise and dedicate themselves to a real program, I highly recommend Shifting Years. Henry's wife is also known to be a trainer who has long and rich experience. At the start of this year I deadlifted and squatted 1.5 times my weight and that was over 200 lbs as a fairly lean individual. This was not possible even in my 20s. Sign and build your power too!

I've been a client of Henry's for well over a year now and cannot say enough about his holistic and effective approach to health, wellness and fitness. Through his training programs, nutritional guidance and mentally healthy approach, he's helped me get into incredible shape while still living a busy life with family, kids, and work. The training and nutrition have become a sustainable lifestyle where I don't miss out on enjoying holidays, celebrations and date nights because it's what you do each day that matters. Show up, put in the work, push yourself all while still enjoying life. I have worked with Eva for over a year! With Eva I have workouts, check ins, nutrition broken down into calories and macros, premenopausal vitamin list, and a support system. I was terrified to go to the gym in the beginning but she helped me face my fear and showed me correct form (all from another state). She has helped me gain confidence, gave me knowledge I needed to lose weight and gain muscle, and has been my biggest cheerleader. I love Shifting Years! I've trained with Eva there for several years, with a long break for COVID and two more breaks for major surgery. I always came back. Eva is super fit herself (as is her husband), very patient, friendly, and relaxed. She explains the importance of good form in all exercises, sets up the equipment for the clients to use, and keeps meticulous records of weights lifted and general progress. This is the perfect place for people who might be intimidated to go to a gym, or might think they're too big, or too old, or too weak, or too injured, or, or, or. I unquestionably made progress with Shifting Years and will continue to train there. Eva's other clients are all friendly folks. Shifting Years also works with their clients on nutrition and healthy eating. I cannot recommend this place enough.

I’m 73 years old, and I was in training for a number of years with ShiftingYears. I trained mostly with Eva, but sometimes with Henry. I have had personal trainers before, but never anyone as competent and careful. My training was individualized to my specific needs and physical restrictions. When I moved out of state, I continued training with Eva remotely. She accommodated my continuing without the use of their extensive facilities. My training was tailored to equipment that I could obtain. They are very professional and highly qualified, and really focus on each client’s abilities and needs.

I cannot fully express how pleased I have been with my experience working with Shifting Years Health and Fitness. Eva and Henry are great. This is the place for you if you wish to improve your fitness level or increase and maintain Functionality. This is not cookie cutter gym. You will get a custom fitness plan based on your fitness level and goals. You will not do boring cardio like a hamster on a wheel, but you will sweat. I am 56 years old and have not regularly exercised in years and never lifted weights. I have been especially pleased with the modification of exercises to meet my needs and the great attention to preferences when assisting me with a nutrition plan. We only have good things to say about Shifting Years! My son has been taking taekwondo there for almost two years. During that time, I have seen great growth and improvement in him as a martial artist, but even more importantly, I credit martial arts with helping him develop into a more confident and disciplined young man. He loves being part of this school! Eva is an extremely skilled martial artist in her own right, and a very talented and nurturing instructor. She is great at developing trust with her students, which is very important when kicks and punches are being thrown!
In addition to taekwondo, Henry and Eva also do personal training and nutrition coaching. I do not have first-hand experience with this part, but I have witnessed many of the workout sessions and they are INTENSE!
All the personal training clients and other taekwondo parents are friendly, and it’s a very warm and supportive atmosphere. I would highly recommend Shifting Years to anyone looking for martial arts instruction or personal training

Eva, with Shifting Years, is amazing! My 12 year old daughter wanted to improve her strength, endurance and agility to try out for the middle school basketball team. Chosing a personal trainer for a child was pretty scary for me. I didn't want to do anything that would hurt her, but I also wanted to make sure she learned the proper form for workouts. I've taken Boxing class with Eva for almost one year. As an alien it took me long time to decied whether find a trainer or work out at gym alone. I am not very confidence of my oral English. But Eva just makes everything easy and fun! She encourages me and helps me practise my Engliash and teach me all funny slang. I have so much fun during every class. As a 66-year-old female with severe arthritis, neuropathy, and pre-diabetes, I realized that I had to do something to improve my health. Prior to joining Shifting Years, I had fallen twice in a relatively short period of time. When I began working out with Eva, I could not get up from the bench without help. She was so very patient with me. After working out with their program, I was able to get up from that bench and do so much more!! My children are so impressed with my ability to perform tasks that I have not been able to do in years!! When I had minimally invasive surgery, Eva developed a new program for me until the time I was released by my physician. I feel better, and there is nothing better than being able to do the things that I was once unable to do. I am looking forward to my health continuing to improve as I work out at Shifting Years.
