Best gym in the Troy area for sure! The equipment selection at Walt’s is amazing from free weights to machines this place has everything. Definitely has an old school vibe but still has modern amenities! If you’re looking for a gym in the Troy area this is where you want to be!

The facility is nice the equipment are good and especially the hours because its 24 but the management is really bad the lady is super rude and good luck cancelling the membership i was there for 2 years and when my contract ended the membership restart auto even though i told them not and they said you gotta call a number so dishonest and so unprofessional i hope they hire new management i will comeback for sure if not i advise anyone not to

Good luck canceling. They’re making me contact a 1-800 number just to get the information on how to SUBMIT a request to cancel. I have to pay a $100 to cancel and show proof that I live more than 35 miles away. Absolutely ridiculous

Terrible service.
I showed up because the sign said they were hiring and they were open. You can’t even show up to ask a simple question, because they never answer the door. You can’t call either because they never pick up your calls.
Basically, long story short, this fitness center is pointless and useless if they refuse to give any service to you.
Looks like they are not actually needing anyone to hire and I wouldn’t bother trying either!
Would not recommend this place to anyone!!

I was written a 3 month contract for $29.99 a month by Austin then the owner proceeded to tell me the rate is $50 a month. I guess the other reviews are right. 🤦‍♂️

Good place, I enjoy my time here. I usually go outside normal hours so have not interacted with staff much, but they seem nice and helpful when I have. Only issues I have is I feel like there is a heavy weighted presence that I just can't lift. I've tried running on the treadmill to fight it, but feel like I'm just going nowhere with it.

While the hours are flexible, and there are many options in the facility, the integrity of the organization is poor. During a critical time, a pandemic where MANY have been, and are being affected, this facility continued to take money from account holders with the gym being closed. The gym has remained closed due to storm damage with no sign of reopening. They only offered one option per their page, which is to give you months back at the end of your membership.

I had to click a star to give a review. But this place should get a negative star. Not a half a negative star. This is the WORST gym I have ever been too. The staff is terrible. The gym has been closed since April ( June now ). You can not get in contact with anyone, the phone is not even active. No one calls you back. The place is still charging clients even though they are not open and have yet to say when they will open. The one time I did get anyone on the phone they told me they couldn’t help me to call the payment solutions ( company that process there payment ) that company told me they could not do anything and this gym was the only gym that hasn’t stopped payments for or reimbursed clients. Biggest joke of a gym and staff I’ve ever seen.

This place is very shady, it is almost impossible to cancel your membership even AFTER two year contract. They keep charging us for extra two months AFTER our contract is up and the membership expires. We stop by in January and was told the contract ends in March, sent an email request cancelling renewal, got charge again in March and was told another two payments left AFTER we cancelled the membership. Would avoid using this place.

I haven't been a member at this gym long enough, yet. BUT, I have visited before (and this was years back as a college student). This gym was empty then, and it still remains pretty empty now. I'm not sure if there are certain times of the day that members come in to workout or what, but it doesn't seem like it's a busy place. The prices to join are pretty steep, and I really haven't heard of the $100 cancellation policy. Thanks for giving me the heads up, Google fam! I wouldn't expect the average college student to work out at this gym. Very good equipment, and very well-maintained facility. When joining this gym, you really have to budget like bills. Their competition just might be the new fitness center at Troy University (too bad I didn't get the chance to experience this new bonus at the University as a student - grad 2016)!

College students and parents beware! Don't sign anything with Walt's Gym! The owner of this gym makes young college kids sign a contract with a hidden 24 month requirement. If you leave before the contract period is up they charge you $100! My son stayed with the gym for 18 months and when he transferred to another university, they sent his information to a collection agency!

One of the most shady and dishonest operations I've ever had the misfortune of conducting business with. I was initially lied to up front in regards to the contractUal agreement. I signed what I was told was a 1 year contract and then later found out it was in fact a two year contract. I was then told by the front desk that the contract could be canceled if I moved out of town and provided proof of a change of residence. I provided all documents requested and low and behold I was still getting charge. I called the payment solutions company they use for thier contracts and was told that not only was my contract extended to 2 years and 3 months but also that they had not received any information from walts fitness regarding my account. On top of that there will be an additional 100$ fee to cancel the falsely advertised contract. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has dealt with this. This place is a dishonest and unprofessional gym and should honestly be investigated for stealing from customers. If you are thinking of joining a gym in Troy please take my advice and look elsewhere.

$10/day for a guest pass is a little steep, but the practical emptiness of the gym when I went (Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday mid-morning, Sunday early-morning) was outstanding. Although none of the equipment necessarily seemed top of the line or state of the art, there was nothing that my plan called for that I couldn't do. My brother, a recent Troy alum and former Walt's member, noted that the music was good, so I didn't take my earbuds in. He was completely right. The music for working out was perfect. Something that I totally didn't expect but was thankful for was that everyone seemed to rerack their weights entirely. I may explore other options when I need to visit Troy, but overall this was an excellent fitness facility.
