I’ve been attending classes at Active Bodies for over a year, and it’s been an excellent experience. Erik has built a supportive community that makes working out fun and approachable. He’s always encouraging—cheering you on and celebrating your progress, no matter where you’re starting. The camaraderie extends to the clients he attracts, who regularly encourage one another. Not only do I feel stronger, but I’ve also made new friends, and that sense of connection helps keep me accountable and motivated to show up each week.

I love the 30-minute small class format—it’s short enough to fit into a busy schedule, yet so effective that I always leave feeling accomplished. Erik is great at modifying exercises to ensure everyone can participate, and he makes sure everyone feels welcome. He’s created a space where fitness feels both accessible and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

I have been training with Erik James of Active bodies for 24 years.
Erik designs programs based upon the needs of each person, from senior citizens to teenagers.
Erik trains clients reaching for athletic goals, and those with health or injury recovery needs. Erik listens carefully, and adds new and challenging exercises every week.
All workouts include strength, weights, balance, flexibility, stretching and stamina. Erik offers encouragement and expert knowledge.
Erik's facility is always clean, sanitized, bright and cheerful.
And best of all, are the friendships built over the years, renewed every year at Christmas.

Best private gym in Gilbert Arizona! I started going to Active Bodies 10 years ago. I left to try out others places and now I’m back! I won’t go any where else. I like the smaller gym feel and how much the trainers care about me. The personal trainer Erik is fantastic and helped me achieve my weight loss goals and gain muscles. Active Bodies offers group fitness classes Monday to Saturday. The group training classes are available early morning to get a workout in before I start work, afternoon if I want to get a work out in at lunch time and at 4:30 so I can swing by after work. It’s nice the group fitness classes fit my busy work schedule and I can pick my time. I can even bring my son to the gym and he sits in the kids area while I work out. I don’t have to pay for childcare like the big gyms. I can get a calorie burning workout in 30 minutes. Definitely a great place to check out! Trainers really care about you and the people I work out with are super friendly, they are like family now.

Erik has made losing weight and getting stronger less scary & more sustainable than any other program I've tried to follow, including one that helped me lose 125 pounds in a year. I had knee replacement surgery which stopped my pain but limited my range of motion and ability to fully use my leg; Erik has helped me learn that I don't have to accept that as my limit and helped me restore the full use of my knee.

A friend introduced me to Erik and his business 6 weeks ago and I could not be happier attending these classes! I had a frozen shoulder due to a difficult surgery that I have been painfully trying to improve through exercise and therapy on my own. The past 6 weeks working out with Erik's guidance has done more for my mobility and strength than two and a half years of physical therapy did! Erik listens to his clients and shows genuine care for everyone who attends. The workouts are always different and challenging and I never feel like I'm hitting a plateau with my progress. I have been working out remotely (1800 miles away) from Erik, in the comfort of my home for the past 3 months. It has been an incredible experience! Erik works with the equipment I have at home and tailors the workouts to accomplish what I want to achieve. The results have been fantastic, I could not be happier...friends and family have noticed the difference.

Erik knows endless exercises for each muscle group, which means, it's never boring. He is also extremely knowledgeable in physiology and diet. He has the ability to drive me harder than I would myself and push me to reach my potential. He does it all with humor and intelligence. I have been a member of Active Bodies for over 5 years and I must admit there is no other place like it. What makes Erick such an amazing trainer is that he actually takes the time to listen to his clients, he’s not your typical trainer who’s going to tell you what you want to hear, he really cares about our health our goals our overall well-being and will get you on the right track to becoming a stronger person not only physically but mentally as well. I personally enjoy the HIFI sessions. The workouts are fun and challenging. After a workout I feel a sense of accomplishment and amazed of what I’ve just done. I’ve also noticed that am stronger more energetic with each session I attend. I highly recommend Active Bodies.

My wife and I have been using Eric the owner of Active Bodies for 6 months and we are very happy with his training and our results to date. I love the new facility, they now have sleds and dedicated rope stations and pull up bars. They also have heart monitors and you can see your progress on two televisions on the wall. Erik is a phenomenal trainer.

I have been going to Active Bodies for over 1-1/2 years and have found it to be a very positive experience. I had been doing my own work-out at home and recognized that I needed some professional input. Erik provides that input based on what I want to achieve and my abilities and potential ability. I've had some medical issues to deal with over the past year and Erik has been very flexible and tailored my workouts accordingly as he continues to encourage me as I work my way back. I also participate in the Zumba Gold class taught by Holly who is a great instructor. Holly always acknowledges and encourages each individual in the class and makes it fun!!
