The manager Shawn involved himself in a DV situation between my ex husband and I. My ex husband took our children on my time, hid them, refused to tell me where they were and went to the gym. After looking for my children and driving all over town, I entered the gym knowing my ex was there, my children were not. Without knowing any details, he provided video footage of me entering the gym looking for my children which my ex tried to use against me, unsuccessfully. I also was a member of this gym for years and I feel it was unprofessional and not his place to become involved. His actions were harmful and more than likely he isn’t an expert in DV situations. The manager needs to keep his focus on the gym not other people’s personal affairs as the gym itself needs some attention but overall not a bad place to workout.

I’ve been with Anytime Fitness for quite a while—probably around 12 years, starting back when they were in the Continental Ranch shopping center. I’ve tried other gyms over the years, but the larger ones can feel overwhelming and their hours aren’t always the best. Anytime Fitness has always felt more relaxed, personal, and never too crowded, which is what keeps me coming back. The gym is well kept and maintained, the new renovations create a vibrant space. Anytime Fitness has all the equipment I need to continue my fitness journey. The atmosphere is laid-back—everyone’s focused on their own workouts and respectful of each other’s space. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and attentive. I also really appreciate being able to access other locations, especially when I’m traveling out of town. Anytime Fitness has been the perfect fit for me, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a more personal and low-key gym experience.

Shawn the manager at this establishment is absolutely terrible. I canceled my membership once my year contract was up then they don't tell you that you have to pay another month AFTER cancelling. Since I never paid for the extra month after my cancellation notice they cancelled my cancellation without telling me. So they charged me for another years service without telling me again until it went to debt collectors. During this year of unknowingly racking up charges my membership key wasn't active so they just scammed me out of an entire years membership worth of money. Shawn was unhelpful during the entire process and an absolute nightmare to try and communicate with. Not to mention they gym isn't well kept and there was a few times people were caught in the restroom showers doing the nasty and I had to contact management but they still let them continue coming to gym. You could go to planet fitness for was cheaper and they're way easier to work with.

The management staff has proven to be completely incompetent when it comes to scheduling "personal" training. Trainers have been in and out like a revolving door at this location. They will verbally agree to elements regarding having a trainer be available at the time that works for you and then when that trainer leaves they have no alternative and you have to bend your life to fit their pathetic ability to plan.

Bottom line, Do not joint his gym with the intent of utilizing any of their "Trainer" programs. A complete waste of time and bound to provide you with nothing but frustration. Complete joke.

If I could rate this location higher, I would. I'm a personal trainer and formerly a gym manager. I have been to a lot of gyms all over the country. After covid started, I was looking for a gym where I felt safe and comfortable. Well, Anytime on twin peaks road was the answer.
First of all, the staff is wonderful. Sean, the manager is outstanding. He is professional, knowledge, cheerful, and greets all his customers by name. He runs a well maintained facility. The equipment is always clean and works well. The bathrooms are always clean and stocked.
The equipment is varied and in great condition. There are a wide variety of machines, a room for cardio with free weights, many cardio machines, and a separate room for heavy lifting.
The gym itself is spacious and clean. It's well lit with lots of tvs. It's never overcrowded and all the machines are spaced well. There are many sanitizing stations throughout the facility. There are cubbies to leave your belongings. There are three bathrooms with showers and a tanning bed.
The overall clientele are respectful and pleasant. I've never had any less than respectful interactions with anyone here.
I highly recommend Anytime Fitness on twin peaks road, and compliment Sean for his excellent management of this location. Thank you for a great gym experience where I can feel comfortable, welcomed, and safe.

I have to edit my previous review. I want to give them more stars, but the cardio equipment is not getting fixed when it breaks. Additionally, every time I go in there now, there is a line for the treadmills. I do not always have an extra 20-30 minutes to just wait for a treadmill. There are only 4 treadmills being used, out of 9 treadmills. Additonally there are about 15-20 other pieces of cardio equipment that rarely get used. I have offered a solution to the problem by moving a couple of pieces around, or by moving them apart a little bit to give the extra Covid space needed, but these options were rejected. Instead, we do the same thing with the same results. I am afraid I cannot recommend this gym to others at this time, as the management here is not willing to listen to reason in order to solve problems. I will update again if reason again becomes a part of the equation.

Making it unnecessarily difficult to cancel a membership during a pandemic....classy. Insisting people come in to sign paperwork at this time is irresponsible. And claiming a written letter is required to verify my identity is simply false. I don’t care what a contract I signed 5 years ago says. Things have changed a bit since then. I think some flexibility and cooperation with your members would be appropriate.

I’ve talked to the other locations in town and they are allowing members to cancel over the phone or via email due to the circumstances at hand.

Seems other members are having the same issue with this location. Hopefully more folks speak up and we get some assistance.

I have been billed for months after trying to cancel our memberships during covid because they were still charging us even though they were shut down. We were month to month. Just wrote the AZ Attorney General to get some help. If you google AZ AG lifetime fitness you'll see that they wrote a letter to Lifetime Fitness for the same practices. I would suggest all of you do the same.
Response to Manager - I have a picture of my bank statement that indicates that you did charge me in April. This is when most facilities with character were providing prorated refunds to their customers (Planet Fitness). It's really simple, I would have sent a certified letter but there was nobody there to accept it. I could not cancel in person because nobody was there. An email should have been acceptable. I have already come in to sign the form to cancel but you refused to wipe my balance clean. Are you willing to do that now?

Gym management refuses to enforce mask mandates. Has signs in the gym stating that masked are required, yet allows anyone to workout without a mask. When attempting to express this concern to the manager, he stated that he can’t enforce mask wearing because the law prohibits him from asking someone if they have a medical condition. How is it possible that a restaurant or store can refuse service to someone not wearing a mask, yet a gym allows people to workout in close proximity to one another without a mask? If they can’t enforce the policy, I will notify the local health department of this and allow them to enforce the mask mandate.

I have tried contacting this gym multiple time to cancel our membership (preCOVID). We have received one callback in 6 months stating that the person who “handles memberships” had an emergency. I understand that emergencies happen, but the lack of communication has been horrendous. I finally received a return email today and was told I had to take care of the issue in person. Obviously that is not possible. I strongly feel that this gym is tarnishing the reputation of Anytime Fitness as a whole.

Tried to contact their billing company and was told you need to contact the 1 club you go to. Of course this club doesn't answer their phone, doesn't return voicemails, and has an email address listed on their answering service that doesn't work. I tried calling this place for six weeks between December and January to establish a new membership for my son. No one returned my calls.
Eventually, a sign was posted on the door, closed for a family emergency. While I understand we all have family emergencies at some point. It is smart to allow someone else to manage the business, especially during the new year which is often peak enrollment at gyms. Secondly, this is the only business we are affiliated with that offered zero feedback during closures due to COVID 19. All other companies sent emails, phone calls or written correspondence as to their updated policies. Anytime Fitness still deducted payments during the closure as well. Very unprofessional.

Yes I asked what cancellation policyand they said yes you can cancel with 30 days notice. I know it was my bad that I didn’t read the fine print that said you can cancel in 30 days notice only if it’s for health reasons or a move when I went in and was honest about the reason why I wanted to cancel and then I was told you have a two-year contract I was offered no solution or help it was just black and white. You are into us for another $580 period. I know I asked if it could be canceled and I remember being very pleased when they said yes. The customer experience on the backend As bad as the stereo typical “oh well to bad for you”. Most Good business practice is to find a solution that meets both parties needs. They are not providing me any services it would be nice even if they offered to take that money and make a charitable donation

The location of this gym is very convenient for me, I can swing by for a quick workout on my lunch break. The staff is friendly and greets me by name every time I go in. The facility is clean, and never super busy so you don’t have to wait very long for equipment to free up.

I've been a member of anytime fitness for about 15 years....recently stop to use this gym while working in Tucson....the gym is pretty decent but could use some up keep on there equipment...the staff and trainers there are completely rude...they dont even acknowledge you when you walk in....there to busy looking at there phones...or they look at you like your for another planet...the owner needs to talk to them about customer service...very disappointing!

This gym is in need of a new manager, Mallories customer service is abysmal!! I had to go in 3 times to try to cancel my membership, twice she had a "I will return at this time" sign on her door so I left my number with one of the trainers to schedule a good time to come in. I never heard from her so I went in a third time only to be greeted with attitude! I asked if there was a phone number I could call so I could talk to someone other then her and her answer was "no, we're a franchise so we handle everything here". I will be doing my research and speaking with a lawyer about my contract and this franchise.

Been going for a few months now. Small, intimate gym. I have no problems lifting at any part of the day.. morning before 7 or before 6:30pm, don’t matter. Equipment available for us. Very clean and no odors. Ample parking. Besides small personal lock boxes (seen at another anytime), I have no complaints. Beats LA Fitness!

Friendly and no hard sell. Easy parking and seems safe late at night. I've been coming here for a good six months and have no issues except that there is no changing room and people use the bathrooms to do this and creates a line to use the facilities during peak ours. Funny this is that there is enough equipment to prevent any sort of bottleneck. The clients seem to be nice and respectful. Although this isn't an upscale gym, the staff and members seem to be. If you haven't been here to check out this gym recently, you will now find more free weights and other goodies. I would give this place five stars, but it does need a changing room.

I love it here! I wouldn’t go anywhere else. It’s always really clean and smells good, considering it’s a gym, that must be hard to do. The staff are outstanding. Mallorie always has such a warm smile and kind words to make you feel like family. Kirstin is so sweet and always greats you win a hug. The facility is sufficiently equipped and marginally devoted to group classes and instruction. The monthly fees are some of the highest sround --triple the fitness centers where their is competition. I signed up for 2 people earlier this year and unfortunately the second person cannot go anymore. So now I am stuck paying for 2 people when I'm the only one able to go. I called and went in to try and work something out. No help. The lady was kind of rude. I was told there is absolutely nothing they could do unless I pay out my contract. Turned out to be $600+! I understand there is a contract, but life happens and normally places conform for the customers paying the bills. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Went to this Anytime Fitness because I was close. I was very disappointed.. I ended my workout after 15-20 mins because a group of individuals annoying the hell out of me…but thats another issue.

The free weight section was lacking compared to other Anytime Fitness Gyms I go to. I tried to substitute with machines but noticed most of the free weight were being used up between two individuals all ready. This is not because they were preparing for the next olympia..it was because this place lacks free weight plates.

My review is limited to the machines and free weights..the cardio equipment appeared good.
