About the Club

Needless to say, personal training was one of many industries affected by the coronavirus. As stay-at-home orders were lifted, we established a "new normal." Inside the studio, things aren't looking that different: Our studio was and is arranged for one-on-one personal training. Gloves and hand sanitizers are available, and disinfecting wipes are right where they've been since opening more than five years ago. Clients are encouraged to wash up before and after working out, breaks that have always been available for "freshening up" have added the dimension of hand-washing and sanitizing, and we are more mindful to the practices of social distancing and wearing of masks.

Remember how much you loved recess? That's how much I enjoy working out at Building Better Bones and Muscles with Maggie. Maggie is a phenomenal trainer who makes working out fun. She's extremely knowledgeable and motivating. She offers an extensive variety of strengthening and balance exercises every time I go (3 times a week) so it's always engaging and effective. I'm much stronger and my balance has improved so that I have resumed the activities I love---like hiking and biking. I have more confidence and don't worry that I'll fall or break bones anymore. You won't find a better trainer or a kinder person than Maggie.

I started working with Maggie after receiving a diagnosis of osteoporosis. She is very knowledgeable, energetic, and fun. After 13 months of working with her twice a week (in addition, to some dietary changes, supplements, and other weight bearing exercises) my bone density has stabilized and in some areas improved. I started working with Nikki in April after an injury left me unable to do even the simplest tasks of daily living. He focused on helping me get muscle imbalances corrected, improved joint mobility and then strengthening when I was ready. With a history of weight lifting I was eager to get back to lifting as soon as I could. He has been an amazing trainer that has helped me at ALL LEVELS of my fitness and abilities. I'm so happy to be weight lifting again, I thought those days were behind me.

I recently started with my personal trainer, Nikki. He is an amazing, focused, understanding and compassionate trainer. I really like the fact that he adapts each workout to what I can handle doing. Nikki is a BEAST!!!!! He is knowledgeable, and has multiple certifications. I was extremely skeptical about training with a personal trainer because I lift and have a background of playing sports, but I was blown away! The trainings he has created for me has improved my fitness and overall strength! And Iost 2 notches off my belt with his guidance and creative meal ideas.

I could not be happier training with Nikki! He radiates positivity and he has helped me and my wife change our ways and get back on track with our fitness, best part is he's not breaking the bank or giving us some crazy diet! He sticks to what we have and makes great recommendations.

I started working with Maggie almost a year ago. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. That scared me! And that's when I found Maggie. She shared her extensive knowledge, her library of research, and has worked with me to build better bones. There's no easy measure to tell if bones are getting stronger. What I notice is that I have much, much better muscle definition and strength, not to mention really great balance. I can count on Maggie to challenge me and make it fun at the same time. I should have found her years ago! She is super to work with. Maggie modifies to your specific situation, needs, and skill level - at each session - while always moving you forward to your goals. I have had bone density issues for several years but only recently realized the need for strength training to halt the progression from osteopenia to osteoporosis. Since I knew nothing about "weight lifting" except that I hated it, I was looking for a trainer to develop a program that fit my age (68) and abilities (none). Maggie, at Building Better Bones and Muscles, works with many clients with bone density issues. Her studio is well equipped and she can modify the exercises to accommodate any age and skill level. Her workouts are challenging, but she is so cheerful and kind that it's actually fun to sweat and work hard! I highly recommend Maggie if you are looking to improve your strength, balance and well-being.

Where do I begin? I know with all of the health craze going on trainers are getting certified and popping up left and right... Maggie has been a trainer for many years and I'm happy she has her own studio but will miss what she did for my residents. I have seen great improvement with my residents under her training and I don't know what magic touch she has but they try so hard and don't want to let her down. It's a positive environment and comfortable. She will push you but will never disrespect you... it's so nice to see a trainer that cares about your health and truly improving your mind and body. She's amazing!

I am chronically ill, overweight, and in my 50s--the last person you'd expect to go to a personal trainer. I found Maggie while looking for a personal trainer who helped people with osteoporosis and other medical problems. Maggie is wonderful. Working with her has made a huge difference in my quality of life. The new studio is pleasant, and it is lovely to be working with a trainer in a small gym setting without the noise and meat market feeling many big gyms have. I'd recommend Maggie to everyone, but I think she makes a special effort with those of us who don't feel comfortable in a traditional gym setting.
