Awesome drop in experience at Camelback CF. Easy waiver and payment via the website, massive beautiful facility, great coaching and explanation of workout. Always a pleasant surprise to get this good of a workout in when out of town. If I lived in the Scottsdale area I’d be a regular

Best owners around. Been to multiple gyms across the states few have what CBCF offers. They be been here 6 years now, and still drop in different gyms and nothing feels like CBCF.

I had a great time at this gym for almost six months, but unfortunately, my experience ended on a frustrating note due to a lack of professionalism and basic customer service from the owner—negating all the positives.
In December 2024, I needed to switch my membership to drop-in classes for January 2025, with every intention of returning to a full membership in February or March. The owner initially agreed to void the $150 charge on January 1 without deactivating my Wodify account. Instead, I was still charged. I reached out multiple times—via text, email, and a phone call to the same number listed on their website—all of which were ignored. Left with no other option, I ultimately had to dispute the charge with my credit card company.
Only after the bank got involved did the owner finally respond, admitting he “got sidetracked” instead of processing my refund. Then, without any warning, my Wodify account was deactivated—despite his earlier assurance that it wouldn’t be.
What’s even more aggravating is that I’ve heard others have had an easy time with holds and cancellations, but that wasn’t my experience.
As of mid-March, the dispute is still unresolved, and the latest update is that the owner now has until May 2025, to respond to the credit card company.
At the end of the day, I expect a hassle-free experience from any business I support, and this gym failed to provide that.
UPDATE: Funny timing—about an hour after posting this review, I got an email from the credit card company saying the dispute was resolved in my favor. Guess some things don’t get ‘side tract’ after all.

Genuinely the best CrossFit Gym I've been to. I've tried 80-100 different Crossfit gyms in the last 10 years, and Camelback CrossFit is the one I keep coming back to every time I'm in Arizona.
1. They keep a consistent coaching schedule between Robert & Nick (very nice guys). It's better to have consistent coaching if you're a beginner so you feel comfortable seeing a familiar face. Even if you're "experienced" a consistent coach starts to remember your strengths & weaknesses, and therefore better coaching towards you.
2. The workouts are truly "Constantly Varied, Functional Movements, at a High Intensity" REAL Crossfit workouts. Nick & Robert will always explain scaling options for you to hit the same stimulus if you're not ready for Rx
3. The gym is HUGE. I once went to a class with about 30-40 people, and it did not affect the quality of workout I got, and there was still enough equipment for everyone.
4. The community is one of the best and diverse across age and skill level. CrossFit classes are always better with a filled up class, which is always the case at Camelback CrossFit. I've always felt a strong spirit of encouragement, uplifting, and friendly interactions with all the members.
5. If you go during MURPH - during the workout they take amazing (free) pictures of you like this!

There are a lot of CrossFit gyms all over the country and this one is nothing like all the ones I have been to in my life. There is an unmatched level of competitiveness that is encouraged without being annoying that I really appreciate there. They have built really welcoming and fun community around this gym. I used the first free week and felt at home immediately. I look forward to signing up once I'm back from my trip.

Camelback CrossFit is an incredible place. The people here are some of the friendliest and welcoming crossfitters you’ll meet, and there are all levels of fitness. Whether you’re just starting out, or a seasoned competitor, this is the place to be. The coaching staff is super knowledgeable and attentive, and the facility itself is great; equipped with nice facilities, bars, weights, rowers and bikes.

Everything you look for in CrossFit, this affiliate met all my expectations. 🙌🏼 On Monday I signed up with Coach Rob; he was very welcoming. Asking all the right questions to determine where I was in my CF journey and what my abilities were. The next day Coach Nick led the class but he knew who I was already. I was impressed. The members were super friendly and the WODs were legit. The box is spacious and fully equipped. You have access to merch, lockers showers lounging, etc. Top quality all the way around. This is my new home away from home. Doing a trial period as I travel between Dallas and Phoenix. Check it out. You will definitely like it. 🙌🏼 DM responses are quick too! @camelbackcrossfit

Dropped into this gym 3 times during a getaway. I used two open gym slots during this visit and attended one class. Open gym was quiet and great to get a workout in using the app from my gym at home. Nick and Tony were welcoming and personable. On my last visit I attended a class. The class size was large, but this should be expected as the gym is large and there is no cap on the class. The workout itself was fun, and challenging. Coach Rob was energetic, and friendly. In addition to some excellent coaches, the community of people in this gym were great. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a gym while visiting Scottsdale.

It is intimidating going to a new gym where you don't know anyone; however, I always felt welcome here from my very first class to my last. There isn't anyone judging you when you go in. The other members/athletes are just glad you are there.
Partner workouts always made me uncomfortable because I am not the fastest person; however, no matter how quick/strong my partner was, they NEVER made me feel less of a member because I wasn't lifting/running/biking/rowing as fast or as much as them. If you are new to Crossfit, this is an amazing gym to start at and get spoiled at. The coaches are incredibly helpful and kind. They assist members with modifications if they need it. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend attending

Outstanding crossfit gym. I've visited at least 20 crossfit gyms around the U.S. and this was the best. The coaches are enthusiastic, very knowledgeable, have a good sense of humor, and are accomplished athletes themselves, so I've learned a lot from them. They offer advice and encouragement to everyone throughout the workout. They take everyone through an extensive warm-up and clearly demonstrate all the movements, including alternatives. The gym itself is spacious, clean, and well-organized. There is an extensive amount of clean, good-quality equipment for numerous different types of workouts. The workouts are challenging but can be scaled to accommodate anyone. from a high-level athlete to a beginner, of all ages. Hours are more flexible than most crossfit gyms, with class starting times ranging from 5am to 7pm. The people who work out here encompass all ages, all body types, and all fitness levels, with good vibes all around. Highly recommended.

BEST CROSSFIT HANDS DOWN! Rob (the owner/trainer) & Nick (trainer) are AMAZING! The gym itself is well put together, the way the trainer's facilitate the exercise, movements and the WOD (workout of the day) is just smooth like butter. Been going here the past year, but had to move out of state. No other crossfit compares to this one. Whenever I visit Arizona I always make time to drop in and workout here. Miss it! I wish I could take Rob to my current crossfit, so he could show the trainers how it is done. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. The people there are amazing too where you just create a bond.

Really solid gym - I was able to drop in again while visiting home. I am an Arizona Native but currently reside in Chicago so I am familiar with the local options and this is my favorite. For drop ins and locals this gym has the perfect setup and size. There are plenty of rigs that are well placed in the middle of the gym so regardless of the number of people it is easy to get a good work out. Not sure on choosing Murph for Thanksgiving Morning but great regardless.

There are very few gyms that can cater to advanced and novice athletes all the same time- this one can.
This is legit a gym for everyone, I worked out as a drop in on a Saturday, myself as an intermediate guy, There were brand new folks ( less than a week) and jacked seasoned athletes that clearly have been working out so much they forgot what food taste like without a protein shake.
The facility is huge, the equipment is great and there was at least one dog, 10 out of 10.
I live in Chicago but am from Arizona, this gym ends my search for a hometown gym, I will not work out anywhere else in Arizona... it is so good It makes me almost want to move home. Almost.

Camelback CrossFit is an incredible gym! Matt, Rob, Dom and Jake possess terrific communication skills, are educated, provide group awareness, motivational and make an outstanding attempt to bring the community together. From day 1 you feel like you joined a community and not just a gym. You are not forgotten. If you have questions, they will answer them. If you are unsure about a certain Olympic lifting movement or gymnastics movement, any coach and/or member is willing to help you figure it out.
The workouts at first were very challenging and overwhelming, yet with the assistance from the coaches and members I was able to figure out a perfect scale for a lot of the WODs. Anyone interested in joining or attempting CrossFit, do not be discouraged in those first few weeks to months. Get in a routine, make friends and make sure you stretch.
Camelback CrossFit is by far my favorite CrossFit gym. Everyone's friendly. There are people at many levels so it's a good place whether you're a newbie, seasoned CrossFitter or a competitor. There's always someone to challenge you and to compete with.
I’ll be honest, I am one of those people that tend to be the last people to finish a WOD. When I feel like I can’t go any further there’s always someone near pushing me and telling me to go higher, further and faster. I’ll be contemplating a max rep and Coach Dom will come around and sincerely say, “YOU’RE FAST AND YOU’RE STRONG” and it is truly remarkable to have those people in your life to push you to be the best you can be. All the coaches and members at Camelback CrossFit are just down right good, honest and sincere human beings. It’s refreshing to be surrounded by a community that promotes this type of atmosphere 1 hour a day.

Do you even lift? If not, then you should try Camelback crossfit because Matt and Rob (coaches) will help you lift properly and become strong. They also have a beginners Olympic lifting class to really help you dial in your movement. Lifting is just one component of Crossfit and for those who don't know anything at all, whether it be about lifting or Crossfit in general, these coaches can help you progress your fitness.
Oh you do lift. Awesome. Now you have a place to join the ranks with several other crossfitters who love lifting and doing metcons (metabolic conditioning).
If you already do crossfit, check this gym out, 8,000 sqf, a massive rig, showers, bathrooms, lockers, tons of space, you'll love it. If you've never crossfitted before, this is a great starting point because you're not alone and this gym helps you become better at maintaining and improving your fitness, whatever your goals may be!
