Horrible experience here. Took a class with Kriztina Davis, and after the class got started and we are in the middle of the workout, The instructor comes over to tell me that grippy socks are required, and that I need to go purchase some from the front as were in the middle of class. I already had my own socks on and asked if it’s okay to just use my own socks or if they had some I could borrow or be barefoot and she said “no because we don’t know where your feet have been and it’s a safety thing” and made me get up in the middle of class to spend $30 on one pair of socks at the front completely disrupting the class and my experience. I’ve been to so many Pilates studios like Solid Core and Reformed Pilates and others that let you wear your own socks or even be barefoot cause you obviously clean everything after, or just let you borrow a pair. I had to sign a waiver and take a picture at the front before class even started, would’ve been a good place to ask someone if they had grippy socks before the class even started wouldn’t you think? Besides that the class wasn’t challenging or difficult, didn’t even break a sweat. The instructor was also rude, not friendly or welcoming and didn’t seem very happy to be there in the first place. Cant stand stuck up places and rude instructors like this.

This review doesn't reflect on the overall service and instructors or cleanliness of this Club Pilates Studio. I've been a member of Club Pilates for over 4 years and through 2 pregnanciess and at one other studio in Scottsdale. Overall I've loved every minute of my experience and fitness level while incorporating pilates.

However, as some other reviews have shared, when it comes to charging your card for fees and services this studio manager and the owner lack customer service nuance. In the past I've had to cancel a class late maybe 2-8 different times either due to personal illness or because my kids had the flu at home. I have never been a constant 'no-show' for classes and except for one instance when I completely forgot I had a class scheduled have always called to let them know why I couldn't make it. I still was charged their $15 no show fee most of the time. Okay, whatever, it is in the contract.

But recently I had to have abdominal surgery due to my last pregnancy and in the same week I was laid off from my job of employment. It was unexpected, and I couldn't return to Pilates for 14-15 weeks. I genuinely thought I would be employed again by the time I was able to return to Pilates physically. However, I have not found another job yet. I did a cancellation notice with the club but because it was several days past my billing cycle with them they have chosen to bill me another $199 rather than give grace for nuance in the situation.

Bummer, up until this situation I had intended on renewing my membership with this studio once I was employed again. However, when you lack grace for the nuance of someone paying Bills with their savings until they're employed again it puts a bad taste in your mouth and doesn't make you want to do business with them again.

I will be looking for another studio for Pilates once I'm able to do so.

***Update***
Still love the instructors, but good Club management is something to be desired. Recently, by mistake, I showed up for a 9:30a class. However, I was booked for the 12:30p class. So, I asked if we could switch my booking as there were open reformers. I was told she could get me in the 9:30a class but I would have to pay for an additional class and lose my 12:30p booking Ok... So, I'd have to pay full price and lose my booking unless I wanted to do both. Hmm 🤔 doesn't seem that membership means that much to this Club. I asked to have Rebrcca, Club Manager, call me. Rebecca did call. I advised her I had a complaint. Why would they not be able to switch my 12:30p to 9:30a? It's their policy. The front desk staff do not have the authority to do switch or apply a credit. The owner and corprate like it that way. They do not consider their membership base or members in good standing. So do not try to switch a class. It's poor membership service and sad. Oh, and in addition to being inflexible, they no longer offer classes on Saturday's. Truly sad.
* The instructors, front desk folks, and owner are wonderful and care about their clientele. I look forward to classes and enjoy flow and center and balance.

I joined Club Pilates at Norterra in July 2024. I have been very pleased with the workouts. I feel stronger and more aware of what my body can do. The instructors are very knowledgeable and can help provide modifications as needed. I signed up for 6 more months of classes!

I have been coming to Club Pilates Norterra for almost a year and every instructor is welcoming, helpful and ready to challenge you in the best ways possible. Every class is different and unique to the instructor which makes it something to look forward to every week. Kriztina, Reem, Jennifer, Kimberly, and Anne are so phenomenal and their humor, expertise, and compassion to their students keeps me coming back.

I really want to give a shoutout to Reem, Pilates teacher extraordinaire! Today my 75 year old dad began his Pilates journey with me. She walked him through everything, showed him modifications and did so with a smile and a kind word. I am constantly amazed by how incredible this place is and today my dad was able to see exactly what I’ve been seeing for the last year.

Thank you!

I have really enjoyed the instructors and the classes, but the experience I had today was absolutely atrocious and further backs up what those have been saying about greed... I was running a few minutes late and walked in the door at 3:35 - I looked at my phone as I walked in. I had never been this late to a class before. The girl who was outside came in behind me as I was setting down my things and checked the time after me and informed me that it was now 3:36 and I had to leave and could not attend the class I had just shown up for, AND that I also would have to pay a $15 no-show charge. I pay a monthly membership fee to this studio and have been coming here over a month and have had a great experience up until today. I cannot fathom how a business could treat "members" like this and expect to keep them.

I specifically asked questions on fees when I signed up and was informed that if I canceled a class less than 24hrs in advance I would be charged $15 - and I was and still am ok with this. But no one told me about this 5-minute policy as an excuse to rip you off. The girl claimed it was a "safety" policy, but I'm sorry - nothing you're doing in a level one reformer pilates class is going to injure someone if you miss the first 5 minutes and 3 seconds of the class. It's literally just an excuse to steal from consumers.

I use an app and a portal on their website to sign up for classes regularly. I checked both of these and guess what? There's no mention on either of these about their 5-minute steal your money policy. Gotta love businesses with super sneaky hidden charges and fees that don't remotely value their "members."

Had I been made aware of this policy in advance or if it was readily visible and I just missed it, I would not be nearly as upset. I would still think it's a pretty rude policy when it comes to valuing members, but I would also understand that this was on me - in this case, there was no way at all I could have known. The girl was not remotely apologetic and didn't care, and was literally looking for a reason to deny me entry (walking in behind me and then telling me it was too late) that I pay a lot of money monthly to attend. She even offered to give me a form to cancel my membership as I was leaving! Just trying to get rid of you I guess, but to be fair I don't even trust that they wouldn't try to charge me a bunch of other fees just for canceling either.

Their regional manager is supposed to call me tomorrow, so if there is a positive update, I will provide that. I'm just shocked because I had nothing but good things to say until this afternoon and I cannot believe how I was just treated.

The instructors here are AMAZING, this is not a reflection of them at all.
The owner of this specific location is EXTREMELY greedy and doesn't treat her members or her employees right.
We had to relocate due to a family emergency with no notice and I missed notifying the studio 2 days after my billing cycle. She was unwilling to be flexible, listen, or care to accommodate flexibility. I will be paying for 2 full months in which I was not able to take classes since emergencies don't give billing notice.
She pays her employees half of what other studios do for the headcount of members who show to classes and requires them to work when they're sick just to name a few...
This is also one of very few studios who offer ZERO classes on Saturdays, which is a disadvantage to every member but she refused to change the schedule no matter how many members complain.

Great place, nice equipment until you try to cancel and they will give you the run around and make excuses on why they should charge you more. I left the studio after been diagnosed with acute osteoarthritis on my left knee to recover and follow treatment. I had all the intentions of coming back but I am not sure how long recovery will take so I decided to cancel for the time been. I started my on the 11th of the month since it was already the 16th I understood that they would pro-rate (charge ) for and additional 5 days of the following month to complete the 30 day period. We'll is not so they are charging me for an additional month 55 days to cancel at the rate of $199 per month and I can't even attend their classes. I was given a copy of the agreement with some highlights indicating that I could only cancel if I died or became critically ill but I am on a month to month status I don't get it. I had also been charged $10 per class that I did not attend but I had not missed any class. This people are just out for the money and they will make sure they take every penny of it. If you need pilates in your life because is an awesome class don't do it at this establishment.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT HERE! The instructors are great! The front desk staff is great! The members are great! I wish unlimited members got a discount on socks and things, but not worth taking off any stars :)
It's hard for me to get motivated to work out, but I actually love coming and get a bit sad when I have to miss my fave classes, but there is always an alternative class just as good!

After moving across the county I was hoping my new studio would be as good as my last one, and I am thrilled to find out that all of the instructors are great here too! They have a ton of class choices and even when I'm waitlisted I almost always get in. The front desk people are just the nicest and the facility is clean and welcoming. It's a great place for Pilates!

I am updating my review for the below review from 1 star to 3 stars as the charge was refunded right away but I am still only giving 3 stars because it should have never happened and you can't be messing around with other peoples money like that. My account should have been cancelled as soon as they received my 30 day notice and my card should have been removed from their system. I did receive two phones calls/voicemails and two text messages from the owner who stated that she didn't know what happened and that she had been out sick with Covid for 3 weeks and that she had someone else taking care of things for her while she was gone but apparently they weren't. Also I did call as soon as I saw the charge and sent an email to the same email that I did my cancellation but never received a reply to the email.
I joined Club Pilates on Happy Valley earlier this year and I absolutely loved it until I recently cancelled my membership as I am in school right now and not currently working. I gave my 30 day notice and also received an email back stating that my last charge date was 5/28. Well my card was charged again this morning for another month which should not have happened especially since I gave my 30 day notice. I was planning on coming back in the future but unfortunately now I don’t know if I will especially this location. I am hoping this is remedied quickly as my account is now overdrawn.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND UNETHICAL!!
Joined in February 2020.
March 2020 studio closed due to COVID, studio offered a on demand option, I declined. I told them would reevaluate when my family and I decide what’s best for our my family during pandemic. I closed my account amd did nor did I opt in their in demand program.

May 28, 2021
My debit card was charged for 3 months of monthly fees totaling $660. Charged me over a 1 year later. What?

June 7, 2022
Spoke to GM - Rebecca said because their studio opened up on a limited basis in May 2020 that I did not give a 30 day notice. Asked directly if she would refund my money - she said no!!

PS - also how did Club Pilates also get me debit card information? Card on file from last year was canceled in June 2020. UNETHICAL very disappointing!! Member beware!! Yes their is policies in place, I respected their policies, did my due diligence during the pandemic to cancel service. Shame on you Club Pilates Norterra
