I've been training at Desert Taekwondo since the spring of '23: excellent instructors, a family atmosphere, and personal attention given to each student to help them excel. GM Malm runs, in my opinion, the best Taekwondo school in Tucson. If you've ever wanted to train Taekwondo, this is the place.

Desert Taekwondo is Fun. My 6 yr old has a blast 3 x a week. Based on principles of integrity, respect, and perseverance. The instructors promote exercise and health. The parents are from evey demographic in Tucson. But all they all have a common goal for they kids they love. Taekwondo is an individual sport learned in a team class envirnoment. They are rewarded with stripes to signify hard work and learned skills. I believe its an important part of my sons life to have an activity not based at his school. He looks forward to classes and is always smiling the whole time we are there. Like many young boys, he needs to burn off lots of energy and needs structure and guidance. I am thankfull for the patience the instructors have for the little ones. My son learns kindness and respect for others as well as cool kicks ans punches!

El Gran Maestro Malm, con más de 30 años de experiencia, tiene la gran capacidad, Paciencia, disciplina y dedicación de enseñar a sus alumnos/ pupilos, Técnica, Fuerza, uno a uno (al que nesecita más ayuda) y lo más importante usa muchas Metáforas con sus pupilos.

When I moved to Tucson, I spent months trying to find the best Taekwondo dojang in Pima County for adults. I went to dozens of studios until I finally found Desert Taekwondo. Master Malm is an outstanding instructor, known across the country. Last I checked, the school's prices were one of the least expensive - and yet you get more. Unlike ATA that tries to squeeze every penny out of you, Master Malm uploads all instructional videos to the studio website for free and allows you to attend as many classes each week as you want. Other studios require their students to purchase their DvD instructional videos, limit your time in the studio, and are just out to make a buck. Master Malm takes great pride in his dojang and his students, and his first priority will be you.

I started taekwondo under master malm at the age of 16 the only regret i have is not starting sooner but its better late then never...taekwondo and master malm have changed my life and have had such a impact on my life i dont know were id be without master malm and desert taekwondo.master malm motivates me to be the best me i can be and motivated me to get my ged.he is a great mentor that always guided me in the right directions of life..i justed wanted to share what a great impact this school has done for me...so stop by Its a very clean facility with super friendly staff when you join you feel like you joined a part of a little family its a great school and master malm is very good at what he does hes great with kids and adults of all ages

I visited this place a while ago. I met Master Malm on Facebook. He asked me to visit his Dojang the next time that I was in Tucson. Well, I did and he received me with a smile and after a short introduction he asked me to change and to join the group. His students are very nice. He has all ages working out at various times. Master Malm maintains a friendly atmosphere with professional instruction. I understand that he has been at this place for over 20 years. This gives him a lot of experience.

I definitely enjoyed my time at Master Malms Dojang. He has a great group that welcomes as you are one of them right away. I recommend Master Malms “Desert Tae kwon Do” to anybody that wants to learn the right way in a safe atmosphere.
He also knows a variety of arts that adds to his repertoire. Other than being a Korean martial arts master he also knows traditional Okinawa Kenpo and kobudo for those interested in something different. He has an extensive collection of Okinawan kobudo Katas.
I will definitely visit him again the next time that I am in Tucson, AZ.
