David is the best personal trainer for results and sustainability! The 30 minute session times are the perfect length to be able to crank out a good workout but also not spend hours in the gym after a long day at work. David makes the work outs fun while also making sure you are making progress towards your goals. I could not recommend DNA personal training and David more highly. 10/10.

I trained with David a long time ago, back when he was still located downtown, so this review is long overdue! But David is a phenomenal trainer who helped me to get on a path of taking better care of myself. I started out with no experience or confidence in my ability to do anything in the gym, and left (moved out of AZ) able to continue the plan he had worked out. Thank you David!

David is everything someone would want in a trainer. Your strength conditioning program will be completely personalized to you and you are working in his private gym where it is just you and him for the time that you are there. He is compassionate, wise, assists with nutritional needs, and memorizes your injuries and sore spots so that he can customize the workout around them. He has assisted me greatly with the mental challenges of working out, using both humor and teaching. I have truly looked forward to my workouts as a result!

This review is long overdue! I started training with David 10mo ago shortly before my 40th bday. I had been very fit in my 20's and then got busy with my career and kids in my 30's and didn't make my health and fitness a priority. I was so skeptical at first about only working out 30min three times a week and would I really see results. I had never worked out with a trainer before but I needed the motivation. David has changed my life tremendously in 10mo and has shown me that it's not about spending 2 hours in the gym and doing lots of cardio. It's about efficient exercises that target the major muscle groups along with good nutrition. I am strong and fit and my kids now say "wow mom has a lot of muscle." I am 40 so I have some aches/pains and we work around minor injures to ensure I stay healthy. If you are considering a personal trainer then you can't go wrong with David and you will wish you would have done this much sooner.

David is the best! Not only does he give you a challenging work out, but he motivates you to keep going and finish strong, to pursue your goals, and is a great confidant.
I’ve been working with him for almost a year and I am a new person— I have more energy and an optimistic attitude. David is the best trainer ever!!! In 30 minutes you will receive a workout that is a perfect combination of strength exercises and cardio. David is also a great trainer for ALL ages. I’m in my 50’s and started to have some mobility issues with my knees and ankles. In a few short months I have noticed huge improvements. If there is something that is difficult, he always has a modification. I love DNA personal training and I know you will too! Don’t forget to ask him about nutrition(which is included in your membership),if you follow his program, you will drop weight quickly!

In the best shape I have been in my life!
David’s Personal training regimen has left me in the best shape of my life. In just 30 minutes per workout, you will leave feeling exhausted but rewarded. Following his diet planning, you will notice noticeable results within months. I heavily recommend David’s personal training, this past year has been the most beneficial in regards to my fitness.

From the deepest part of my heart I have to thank David for everything he has done for our family. Not only did he teach me about training and nutrition and gave me a new look on life, he took my son Joshua from a place of food addiction to becoming a United States Sailor and being in the top 12 of his division for his runs and other physical test. Joshua Started at 265 pounds in July 2018 and finished Feb 2019 leaving for the Navy at 215 and confident.
Joshua's last navy test, he took what David engrave into his mind 3 days a week ,"Fight till the end and never give up, ' and ran his 1.5 mile run starting at 15-16 mins to11:45, a few pushups to 78 pushups and not being able to do but 1 sit-up to 87 sit-ups. His weight went up 5 pounds to 220 during bootcamp, but went down in inches for the waist from 41 to 37.5. So inches lost and muscle gained. WOW!! What a difference from the start of training with David till now. Without David the journey to the navy would have been much harder and maybe not even reached. For this, we say "Thank You David your not just a friend, but family!!

David and Julien are truly a dream team. I’ve been working with them for 6 months and have seen incredible results: I’ve gotten so much stronger, and I’ve gotten over old injuries I thought I’d never get over. I’ve also lost 14% in bodyfat, and not by starving myself. David’s approach to nutrition and exercise is clearly well researched and also easy to understand, follow, and stick with. I was apprehensive about training at first, so I really appreciate that Julien encourages me while also challenging me. He makes sure I’m doing movements safely and properly. I’m excited to continue on this journey with Julien and David, and I highly recommend them!

I am so happy to have been training with David. He has taught me about weight training and nutrition. This is a well rounded program its not just weight training its an education about eating and how to lose weight. Its a life style. In 2 months I have lost 14 pounds. I started my training with David almost a year ago, and it has been a life changing experience. When I began my training, I was recovering from a severe shoulder injury. I could not lift my arm above my waist without extreme pain. With David's expertise and strategic conditioning, my shoulder is better than ever and I am now able to focus on long term fitness and wellness goals. David is knowledgeable, patient and provides a judgement free atmosphere where everyone can feel comfortable about their current fitness level and where they want to go from there.

I have been working with David for a little over six months now. I used to work out all the time (a long time ago), spending 2+ hours lifting etc. But life caught up with me and I fell out of shape. After years of bad habits, my wife and I decided to turn things around, and boy did we! David designed a nutrition and work out plan that completely reversed what the years had done. I have lost almost 40 pounds and 8% body fat. For an ex-college athlete I am starting to see strength gains that are reaching my all time personal bests, and for someone in his fifties, looking like I never though possible. My life changed after my consultation with Tina and David. My first workout with David (the week after Thanksgiving 2015) lasted 3 minutes- David identified the condition I was in and shared with me the importance of not over doing it- if I hated it, I would likely not return, I'd come up with excuses to avoid the dread of working out. So over the next few weeks we eased into it. Not once did I end my workout without David asking me about my nutrition, reminding me the importance of staying hydrated and providing me ideas on how to consume the recommended daily protein for the ever easy sustainable diet (which requires no supplements, no special powders or pills).
Fast forward to today- I started this adventure wearing a size 12 and today a size 8 is baggy. I am so much stronger and the increase in my stamina is incredible. Not only have I lost weight but I've lost 20+ inches in my arms, legs, waist and chest.
Most importantly I feel great, I'm having fewer and fewer bad days and I'm happy. I had no idea how unhappy I was until now.
This adventure will be easy for me to sustain- its a new way of life that just gets better and better.

I have been with DNA Downtown for over a year now and it is by far the best gym experience I have ever encountered. The goal set by David and his team for each individual who comes into the door is to progressively and safely move them from where there are to where they can be when it comes to their physical health. The small and well instructed classes provide a comprehensive and engaging full body work out in a dynamic number of ways that never get boring or repetitive. This is a gym for anyone, regardless of age and current fitness, who wants to get into the best shape of they possibly can be, to get there.

These guys are the best. David is very careful with everyone to avoid injuries. I'm in group training but it feels like one on one personal training since he tailors each work out segment to fit each individuals needs. I've been working out for 6 months after 4 years of not working out and feeling like I was falling apart. My results are amazing, I thought I'd never be in shape again, I've lost weight on the nutritional plan . my muscles have come back with definition my skins tighter and I get a lot of great endorphins so I feel a lot better, more energy and joy.

Starting off at a new gym, especially CrossFit, can be so intimidating. All the staff and clients at DNA are super friendly though and very helpful. No matter your level of fitness, you'll fit right in and they'll scale the training to your needs.
I'm so glad DNA has a downtown location close to my office. I finally found a place where I can fit in an effective workout during lunch three to four times a week and I have gotten great results!

I believe CrossFit520 has the best program for anyone wanting to improve their health and quality of life. I also believe Marcin and David are great trainers who genuinely care about everyone that walks through their door, which is something you won’t find in many gyms. They do a great job at scaling the workouts so that anyone can participate and benefit if they put out the effort. I am very pleased to have found CrossFit 520 when I did and I look forward to what they have in store for us in the future.

I have been at the Foothills location for over 3 years. I have travelled and tried other CrossFit gyms in and out of town and I have stayed at DNA. Why? Because of the programming. The programming is TOP NOTCH. It is scaleable to all levels. And yet is still challenging for me after 3 years and all of my strength gains. Whether a beginner or a seasoned athlete, this gym is perfect for you.

This review pertains to my experience at the Downtown location (186 E. Broadway) which is a great location for UA students/faculty because of the proximity to campus. I joined DNA looking to get stronger without losing the cardio base I had built as a runner for most of my life. The trainers at DNA are great at customizing activities for all levels, as I worked out with people who couldn't lift the barbell and people who could lift the barbell with many plates on each side, all in the same class. Each lift was thoroughly explained and practiced with lighter weight before it was performed for reps, which I felt was crucial to my success and staying injury free. I had always heard to avoid crossfit because of the possibility of quick injury, but the trainers here prioritize form over max weight/reps and really watch to make sure clients are safe. I also wouldn't call this gym strictly 'crossfit,' but rather a hybrid crossfit gym-- crossfit lifts and concepts are incorporated, but there is also an element of high-intensity interval training, cardiovascular fitness, and other bodyweight exercises. All in all, a great way to get a quick but productive workout and practice lifts that I wouldn't dare try on my own without supervision at a regular gym! The staff is very friendly and accommodating as well, and is willing to work with clients to get them good pricing and a wide variety of class times.

The safe, quality equipment is well-organized and in good working order, the shower and both bathrooms are clean, and you can park your bike or your kids inside while you workout. The group classes are available at all the right times six days a week, so if you miss your regular time you can easily make it to another class. You pay a flat fee with no hidden costs, get a different workout every day, and receive personal nutrition planning. Your workouts are scaled to match your ability and your progress is measured and recorded to guarantee improvement. The friendly trainers ensure proper form, support and motivate you individually, and answer all your questions. The clientele become your second family and includes people who are just getting started and people who are in the best shape of their lives.
I joined DNA to get strong and healthy – I got what I paid for because I came ready to learn and give my best effort. I was educated on proper nutrition to fuel my body and safely trained on the technique for every exercise. I now take joy in movement and actually have fun working out. I never knew I was supposed to feel this great – I lift things heavier than me, run like the wind, eat like a teenage boy, and sleep like a baby.

DNA has a great approach to fitness and health goals. Being a former athlete, the team training classes are a great motivator and keep me going when the workouts become exceedingly difficult. I'm 37 years old and was fat, flabby, lazy.... the list continues. This is my 3rd week and I'm already seeing / feeling changes. I've always been competitive and I'm finally starting to feel like I can compete both mentally and physically again. I have a ways to go but I can tell you I'm in the right place. The group classes are great, because the trainers interact with you individually and understand each of our levels and help push each one of us to improve. They not only train your body but your mind with an emphasis on nutrition.
