Most affordable gym membership in the Gila Valley, they have been doing renovations for the last 2 years and upkeep that has been needed to be done for longer than that. The pool and sauna have both been redone as well as a pool pump. They even got a bunch of new equipment recently which has been a long time coming!
I talk to other members regularly who have been coming here for decades and it's really cool to come to this hometown gym!

Great place to work out! Has all the equipment I need plus a pool and sauna. The manager is always friendly and ready to help anyone who has questions or concerns. Every time I come in she’s up at the front welcoming people in and helping where needed. She has done a great job managing this place!

I pay for a membership to use the pool and jacuzzi but they are always down now. Used to be great but has really taken a serious turn for the worse! Going to cancel my membership its really sad I am part of the group of seniors who really depended on the heated pool for therapy. We have a class that meets 3 days a week for arthritis exercises it truly helped! But now your lucky if you can go once in a month so every class now is like starting over again and is painful. There was a rather large group of people that really depended on this pool, but they can't keep it clean. They can't keep it heated properly. Nothing ever works, it's so sad.

I've been working out at this gym for about two years, in that time the gym was purchased by new owners. It seems to me they are running it in a hands off manner, the staff is nice until you start the cancelation process. They play music you expect at a college party, I never seen any of them clean or rerack any free weights. Most time you'll find them up front talking.

OK, new review. The hot tub is always broken, the music played is frequently crass and vulgar. Not a family friendly place, I bought a membership because of the pool, hot tub and sauna... Been Very disappointed ever since. I'm sure the weight room is fine, but the pool area leaves everything to be desired.

This place is ran to the ground, counted 7 broken machines, the staff will make it as difficult as they can to cancel your membership. The people that workout are friendly but any place in Safford will think less about you. Sad.

The staff all seemed really nice, until we tried to cancel our membership. We followed the exact instructions that we were told over the phone by an employee to follow. Turns out she gave us the wrong information, the cancellation never took place and we were billed again. We called again to talk to an assistant manger who said because we couldn’t remember the employees name that we previously spoke to, the gym would not be responsible for their words and that we would be billed an additional month due to “policy,” before our cancellation would be final.

My wife and I went to this gym for about 6 months. The accommodations aren’t the nicest and equipment is frequently broken but it served its purpose. My biggest complaint stems from the hassle I was given while trying to cancel my membership. We were given (and followed) a specific set of instructions from a gym employee but the next month we got billed again. After calling to sort things out we were told by an assistant manager that we would continue to be billed until we went through a different set of steps. The assistant manager stuck to a “sorry/not sorry” stance and essentially told us that the gym is not responsible for the apparently incorrect instructions we originally received from their employee. We’ve now completed those steps but unfortunately it seems we will be billed for another month before the cancellation will even take place.

if you’re trying to lift weights this is a super mediocre gym. their open hours are terrible, equipment is old and wore down, always breaking or stays broken and they do nothing to fix it unless you beg them and why would anyone paying a membership want to do that? if you only come here for the pool, hot tub, & sauna you should be fine on the days they work or aren’t getting repairs done on them lol.

8th street gym contains many resources: a pool and spa, sauna, ellipticals, machines, and a yoga room. However, the pool area has a ceiling with pieces hanging ready to fall. Upon pressing the start button on multiple ellipticals they pause refusing to do their job as a machine. And other weighted machines are broken making it impossible to add weight. Someone once said to me, “this place is ghetto” reassuring the fact that it is old and run down.
That’s not the problem. Don’t be tricked by the old reviews. It is not worth the price anymore. They decided to hike up the price by twenty dollars randomly with no notice. The price rising was not due to renovations or some improvement. There is none. That’s also not the biggest problem. Once I found out, my hands scribble my signature ready for membership cancellation.
15 days of notice is not enough for them even though I only got a single days notice of the price rising by 20 dollars... Even though the notice I got was total one day, they still billed me after my cancellation. Not only that, but my cancellation was immediate and I wrote a note on the back asking for consideration. I got none. Next I called and they still billed me after cancellation. No accommodation or consideration whatsoever. No texts or emails to say that the price is going up. The situation is left with it being impossible to give the “thirty days notice.” I feel like I’ve been treated with dishonesty…
After the price raises I still see their sign outside advertising incongruently with the actual price. That’s false advertising. $25 dollars a month stated by the sign and 40 dollars a month in reality.

The only reason I go here is because of the amenities. Be warned that it’s not clean and it’s not updated. You can no longer do month to month payments unless you want to pay $45. AND their prices HAVE gone up. With the family plan I was only paying $20 and now I’m paying $30. Also some of the staff is not professional.

To live/workout here. Let’s start with Apple, when moving out she denied me my deposit fee because I didn’t “notify” them when I moved. Now, living at cotas apartment, which is managed by Apple and her husband Chuck. Apple said she had not been told I was moving, I called the number of cota apartments and guess who picks up, Chuck, who told me to get an lease application from his wife Apple. Apple lied straight to her teeth about having no clue of me moving and then said “if you get someone to move in I’ll give you your deposit” next two days I had people asking for the apartment and I would give them the number to contact 8th Street apartment management . When I came and talked to her that day about the people interested in the space, she denied saying anything about giving me my deposit or getting people to move in to the apartment. On top of that tried to make me pay rent for the next month. Needless to say they didn’t get any money, only took my deposit. So today Nov. 19th, I went to the gym and guess who was there, Apple, just watching me like a hawk. Apple then proceeded to tell one of the staff that I wasn’t a member when you can clearly see I have and 8th street key tag on my key chain. before heading out the staff member stopped me and ask if I was a member while Apple sat behind the wall peeking around the corner while the kind lady was talking to me, I told her what Apple had did. Didn’t know what she was trying to prove and not going to say my skin color is involved at all. She likes to hustle people and to switch up her stories. Don’t get me wrong, Apple definitely was a nice lady until it came time to give me my deposit. Was upset she couldn’t hustle me and expected me to just lay down and take it.

I was swimming laps in their pool and they have a giant hole in the wall of the pool and i thought it was capped and went to kick off the wall to do laps and my foot slipped into the hole and sliced open. I told the manager and asked for number of the owner so i can inform him and she refused to give it to me. I found it online luckily and told him what had happened and he was more then nice about it all but his manager Sunny needs to be fired.

Very nice apartments. Fairly new, most were built in the last 10 yrs. They offer several amenities that other complexes here don't. Rent amounts are fairly reasonable and comparable to other apartments in the area. The complex is clean, nice, quiet and seems to be safe.

But overall I'm happy that we chose this gym. The people have been nice. My hubby loves the sauna and the weight room. There are lots of choices for workouts. Lots and lots of equipment.
