After wrapping up a night shift at Cityscape, I walk into EOS Fitness looking like a leftover NPC, and somehow the place still manages to recharge me. The morning vibe is on point—clean, organized, and just chaotic enough to remind me I’m in a gym. The staff is friendly without being overly perky (which I appreciate at 7 a.m. when I’m running on fumes).
It’s the perfect spot to end my day: good equipment, good energy, and just enough positivity to make me forget I should probably be in bed instead of hitting bench press. EOS is the highlight of wrapping up my night, and honestly, I couldn’t ask for a better finish.

UPDATE: I contacted the District Managers. They were very helpful. Physical training agreement got cancelled. That is why I am switching my rate from 1 star to 4 stars. Thanks to the hire ups that made sure the branch-physical trainer manager did his job.

UPDATE: I went in person to the EOS Downtown Phx location, spoke to Bryant Purvis (Fitness Manager). I explained my experience, he seemed quite "Neutral", although I believe he could've been more professional and pollite, said he would speak to the person who signed me up and that after that he will make a decision as to canceling my contract or not. He said he would call me today 5/1/23 to let me know his decision.

I just have to tell you all. BE VERY CAREFUL when you get pressured to get a physical trainer. I wasn't told that I only had 3 days to cancel or else I'd be stuck with a 6-month program that charges $188 BIWEEKLY!! . I'm supposed to get a call from the branch manager this coming up Monday 5/1/23. I'll update my review and let you all know.

I do not typically post negative reviews, but I feel as I should issue a word of warning for anyone looking to join this gym.

TL;DR: their recruitment practices are dishonest and predatory.

I walked into this location with 3 questions in mind: How much are the different tiers of membership, what does the contract look like, and can I have a short tour.

I go up to the front desk and I am immediately prompted to enter my information (name phone # etc) on a tablet. After entering my info I am greeted by a man who says he is one of the managers. He leads me into a cubicle and I attempt to ask my rather simple questions that I had. Instead he starts grilling me on several questions of his own, such as “are you new to a gym?” “what areas need work?” etc. Some of my answers were clearly not satisfactory to him, which I thought was weird. For example he asked what days would I typically come into the gym. I told him that my work schedule varies, so it can literally be any day of the week at basically any time. He did not like this answer and wanted me to say “Monday thru Friday” or “weekend”. I was asked what my “fitness goals” are and my answer of “I just want a place to do physical activity” was not good enough, and I essentially was forced to pick an area that I “felt could use improvement.”

After what seemed like an eternity we went upstairs and he showed me around the facilities all while bringing up my personal workout routine and what I could do better. He then tested me on my squat form and decided he needed to critique me on it, which felt very humiliating and strange, especially since I wasn’t prepared for this in any way. Genuinely almost walked out at this point.

Then we head back to the cubicle we started in and he *finally* shows me the different memberships with benefits and pricing. He then asks which one I would like to sign up for and I say, “no, I’m not signing up now, I just wanted some information.” He then proceeds to say that he can make the enrolment fee $1 and he will push billing of the monthly and yearly fee out a month. I will only get charged $1 today. Reluctantly I agree.
He then proceeds to ask for my BANK ACCOUNT information! This is where I put my foot down and said no, you can bill a credit card. He did not like this answer and went on trying to pressure me to bill through ACH instead of a CC. Eventually he agreed and I got charged the $1.

At this point I thought it was over with and I could go home but then another man shows up and starts talking about my personal health and what my workout habits are and tries to convince me to sign up for personal training. I said I am not interested and he still kept pushing. Ultimately I refused and didn’t schedule any sessions much to both of their dismay.

Throughout this whole experience I did not feel like I was a customer they wanted to take care of, I felt like I was a target that they were trying to get money out of. This felt like going to a shady car dealer much more than a health club. My questions were not directly answered in any way, I felt pressured to answer questions that I didn’t have answers to/didn’t want to answer, and I felt like I was being extorted for just trying to get some information. 

I came back the next day and canceled the membership, even if it is a good deal I don’t want to support these business practices. The girl at the front desk was helpful and not sketchy, although she didn’t give me a receipt so I really hope that it has thoroughly been canceled.

What this facility lacks in size compared to its larger suburban counterparts, it makes up for in an amazing Staff, variety of Machines, large locker rooms and ample free weight selections between 5-100lbs.

It is often NOT busy, its guests are friendly and respectful, there’s a great guy Jose who is always cleaning the place and is friendly. The paper towels are regularly stocked. THE Front desk team is top notch And everybody knows your name!

Some people can always find something to complain about….. but I like it here. 😊

I had a really frustrating experience at EOS Fitness (downtown Phoenix) last night. My husband and I had been using a week pass since Monday, and everything had gone smoothly until Thursday evening. When we checked in, the girl at the front desk, Alma, started questioning us about where we got the pass, like it's not clearly available on your website. It felt like she was making a big deal out of something that should've been routine.

To make matters worse, Alma called over a manager who only added to the frustration. I was trying to get to a yoga class, but the whole situation made me late, which was incredibly irritating. This was the fourth time I was at this location, and suddenly there was an issue with my pass? That’s just unacceptable.

It's disappointing that something as simple as checking in turned into such an unpleasant experience. I expect better customer service, especially when I’ve already been coming for a few days with no issues.

EOS Phoenix didn't miss a beat! While I usually stick to my Downtown Salt Lake City location, I was visiting Phoenix and had to check this one out, I'm so glad I did. After a subpar hotel gym experience, walking into EOS was a jolt of great energy. The machines were solid, the layout was excellent, and the HydroMassage chair was the perfect way to recover. As expected from EOS, the service was excellent.

If I could give zero stars I would. DO NOT SIGN UP HERE. There’s plenty other gyms around the area.

I signed up with a trainer, 3rd session in Jason decided to show up really late and double book my appointment and then ghost all week and not schedule sessions again. Great, usually wouldn’t care but when I had signed up it was supposed to be with a trainer in the afternoons. They got me with Jason who was only available early mornings. I can’t run late due to work meetings.

Now for the absolute hell of trying to cancel since they can’t provide trainers who can stick with meetings. I spoke with Lupita two to three times, another lady, and then Leon who is the PT manager I think. Played hot potato for two weeks trying to cancel. Leon apologized for his lack of customer service. And supposedly cancelled my account. Too good to be true.

2 weeks later, no refund on my account for them not being able to schedule training sessions that I paid for. Did not cancel my account like he had said he did. And now my card was charged again.

Management’s brains are nonexistent. I have no idea how this gym functions. Go to mountainside. The staff is so professional there and helpful.

EOS offers a great in-gym experience, but unfortunately, their customer service and support channels fall short—especially for those trying to make changes to their account. The phone system (IVR) is frustratingly outdated, with no option to speak directly to a live representative unless you’re simply making a payment. For anything else, you’re required to physically visit a gym during business hours.

Once you’re onsite, be prepared to exercise some patience—staff are doing their best, but they’re clearly working with limited and legacy systems. That said, there are bright spots. If you happen to be helped by someone like Tommy Abba****** at the Phoenix location, the experience can be exceptional. His professionalism and customer care truly stand out.

EOS has so much potential to improve by modernizing their support systems and empowering staff with better tools. The front-line team deserves it—and so do the members. If not, have patience. Not the fault of staff.

I have never been so disrespected . I went to the downtown Phoenix location to see about getting a membership because in Las Vegas I had a free trial and wanted to actually get a membership. When I went to the second floor and walked up to the counter the Hispanic girl at the desk told me the worker that could sign me up doesn’t get in til 9am at this time it’s about 6:15 am . By this time I had to use the restroom so I asked her where the bathroom was she asked me if I was a member as if I didn’t just ask her about getting a membership and that’s why I was there . She then proceeds to point across the street and says ask the hotel to use their restroom the restroom is only for EOS members … I mean seriously you can’t make this up . So I’m going to wait til 9am and make a complaint about their worker and no I absolutely will not join if this is the type of people they are employing. Unbelievably rude and extremely unprofessional.

I had issues with their cancellation policy. At sign-up they never mentioned that I had to cancel 30 days in advance to avoid the annual fee (~$60). I cancelled one day before and still got charged $60 + $30 in membership fees. The following month, even though I cancelled well in advance, they still charged me another $30. That’s $120 lost just for trying out a new gym.

It feels like a bad business model - charging people who are no longer using the service. Staff was friendly, but overall it wasn’t worth the hassle.

Advice to others: If you really want to try this gym, sign up and cancel the same day - you’ll only lose the $1 promo month. Otherwise, I’d recommend Mountain Side or other gyms with clearer policies and much better customer service.

Just got here from Denver , they are very near what I left there , virtually everything u need to work every part of the body , what was important to me was many locations , 24/7 hrs of operation, sauna, and a few have steam. (most locations ) visited casa grande , and las Vegas (rainbow) while I was out there for work . And they are in a couple other states too for u travelers . They signed me and gave me a free bio scan, which was very interstellar, gave me a free class with a professional trainer , spoke with a dietician about improving my diet., I really appreciate there services , showers , lockers , it's my home away from home , when I can get away from all that work . Review for EOS Fitness – 1 E. Washington Street, Downtown Phoenix Premium Location.

This EOS location is marketed as a “premium” gym, but unfortunately, it doesn’t feel like it. There are a few major issues that really need to be addressed if it’s going to live up to that label.

The cardio equipment is the biggest letdown. Most of the machines are outdated, noisy, or not working properly. It’s frustrating having to test multiple treadmills or bikes just to find one that functions. For a facility labeled as premium, this area is way below standard and desperately needs a full upgrade.

Cleanliness is another issue. The gym often feels dirty — especially the locker rooms and common areas. I’ve noticed more cleaning staff lately, which is appreciated, but the results aren’t consistent yet. Just hiring more people isn’t enough unless the follow-through is there.

This location has great potential, and I like the overall layout and space, but the maintenance and upkeep aren’t matching the premium price or branding. It’s time for EOS to step up and actually deliver on what “premium” should mean.

Tuen up the AC. The upper level is burning hot while the lower level is cool. Fools need to realize hot air rises and the windows on the upper level heat up the gym

Shady recruiting tactics. Sales person told me on the phone he couldn’t tell me if they have a pool or not and that I “HAD to come to take a tour” for him to disclose that since that was “company policy”. I called other EOS locations and they kindly informed me that the downtown location doesn’t have a pool. Dishonest business practices. Go elsewhere.

I just joined up today and what an epic gym really nicely laid out. The staff are amazing and I got to do a full workout. I love the fact that you can train so high up and get to see the whole Phoenix while enjoying my time training and even chilling out downstairs in the relaxing chairs. The whole experience is fantastic. This is a must place to go train

Loved this gym! I was in town visiting (Go Giants!) and this gym had everything I needed to get a great workout in. The staff were beyond helpful and extremely friendly! They went above and beyond (even hooked me up with a cool shirt!). The gym itself was clean and not very busy (although it was a Thursday morning when I went). Highly recommend!

STAY AWAY!!!! I signed up for a one day trial and the sales representative assured me I wouldn't be enrolled in a full time membership. The next month there was an $80 charge for a full time membership on my credit card and $30 monthly membership charges. Their customer service is nearly impossible to contact and extremely unhelpful. On top of all of that, facilities are poor!! Ugh!!

The very first time I came to this gym I was ignored at the front desk. The second time I came to this gym I brought a friend and I was denied and told I didn't have black card membership and I even show them the bill that I did. Right after I went to a different EOS gym and was told I did in fact have the membership that allows me to bring someone. This is my third and final time coming to this gym I had already checked in and gone through exercised and left when I received a phone call that I needed to return because my account had been expired. Upon arriving they realized that that account had in fact expired but that we had created a new account which also had my phone number. I am so sick and tired of the errors from the workers at this location and how they want to be rude and stuck up. The only reason they got two stars instead of one is that it has some gorgeous views and isn't a great location. Dishonor is not as hot as some of the other locations and the benches are a little bit thinner but there are the double benches and there is a men's and women's.

EOS Fitness is by far the worst fitness club I have ever belonged to the same can be said for the business acumen and practices. I recently received an agreement for personal training that I didn't agree to I tried to cancel it and they outright refused to do so on top of which they said I have to do four training sessions before I can try to cancel because I didn't try to cancel 3 day ago which I only got yesterday which I meet with the manager. They are the worst gym ever and their practices are just down right criminal they deserve to be arrested. If I could give them a zero stars I would.

I spent a year and a half at the other end all I did was get fat and eat Tootsie rolls here at EOS I've got my muscle back I'm back up to two hours on the treadmill I'm working my body they've done an excellent job if you're out there and you're tired of eating Tootsie rolls come join EOS
