Don't waste your money! Started my special-ed 8 year old daughter in beginner tumble class. The beginner class trained for months leading up to the "Showcase" performance only to be left with a HUGE disappointment.
95% of the children in the showcase were age 5-9 and 5% were 15-18 years old.
My daughter was the only beginner placed with the top level experienced teenage performers because the title of the class was "Tumble" and the teenagers were "Tumble 90."
Accuracy is accepting that she trained in beginner group and was placed in advance group for the performance. Talk about being made to feel demoralized by all the work she put in. She did do great as a beginner, that is not the point. Your website describes this advanced class well, as attached photo.
She enjoyed watching the performers throughout the night but "great time" is fabrication and words that did not come out of my mouth. Hence this review. When we got home she asked why she was with the big kids whom had special dances and none of the kids that were in her class? She was made to feel shame even though she could not express through words how she was made to feel a way on performance day.
I pulled management aside immediately after because it was a hugely obvious the disparity why they couldn't figure out a way to put her with all the other beginners, this is where she trained.
Why don't we put 8 year olds in a high school basketballl game? Having to explain this situation and advocating for my child, followed with a response, that as a parent I am projecting on a manner of simple right vs. wrong, is a complete joke.
Also, tickets for the family to attend needed to be purchased in advance, which we did. Tickets were not collected at the door and many families were let in the door without a ticket as speaking to and witnessing them walk through the door.
My child slipped through the cracks when teachers made assignments for this performance day. Every beginner was with beginner groups. I am the ONLY complaint because my daughter was the ONLY beginner with the advance group.
When addressed with the owner, unremorsefully replied "she grew up as a gymnast whom performed with older girls." Completely missed the point of SKILL LEVEL on a showcase day. I will never let my daughter to feel this way and take my $1500/year tuition elsewhere.
I post this so future parents can be aware of the many hours spent of beginner practice prior to the showcase, to then have them thrown in a random slot for performance day.
Please save your money and go to a gym whom can structure their teaching and classes to meet your child's needs for performance day!

My daughter loves Heart & Soul and all of her teachers! The classes are small and the kids are always engaged! The instructors are able to give one on one time to help with certain skills while everyone else is busy in circuits. By far, it's the best experience weve had in Tucson with gymnastic facilities.

Our party hosts were amazing!! Everything from the set up, to play time, to food and cake, they took initiative and were so friendly and helpful. One thing that stood out was that they went out of their way to make sure our youngest guest with a disability was able to take part in activities. They really made sure every kid was encouraged to participate at their comfort level and that all the adults felt welcome.

The only good thing about Heart and Soul was my daughter's gymnastics and dance teachers. The issue with Heart and Soul is the management and business practices. For example, if you go on a two to three-week holiday vacation, your child can only make up one session in the same month if there is availability in a class. Additionally, on their website, it states, “Make-ups are not guaranteed, make-up options are contingent upon availability.” In essence, you lose out on the other sessions for the month, and making up the one session for the month is not guaranteed. An excellent business practice example is my daughter's swim school, where a six-month token is provided for a makeup session. The parent can schedule a makeup session online by checking schedules and adding their child to a swim class.

Another business practice is the monthly tuition, which is more like a non-prorated billing. The business states on its website that they do not adjust the billing for months when there are holidays, pre-planned closures, or more classes. Additionally, they note that classes even out, but if you pay attention to pre-planned closures and holidays, it does not even out in the end. The business concept is similar to a membership or subscription framework in that the same amount is billed monthly, regardless of utilization. However, there is no value proposition for this type of billing from Heart and Soul Kids. An excellent business example is my daughter's monthly membership to a local kids' playground, where the monthly billing is adjusted for holidays and pre-planned business closures. The monthly bill is adjusted if there are fewer or more days in a month. The transactional interaction between the consumer and business allows the value proposition to favor both parties.

A business practice that I disagree with is the management purposely hiring more part-time employees so they do not need to provide federal and state benefits. From a non-empathetic or compassionate business management view, similar to Amazon, this is a way to keep costs low but at the risk of mistreating low-level employees. As a fellow business owner, I prefer having full-time employees and building a work culture of excellence, compassion, and professionalism. The overall work environment morale is high, and employees work efficiently to ensure high productivity, often going above and beyond without needing to ask. That starts with doing the right thing for the business and the employees who help build the business.

As I said earlier, the teachers are why we stayed so long, but the value proposition is no longer there. We found an excellent dance studio that provides a phenomenal experience for our daughter while ensuring an exceptional business experience similar to my daughter's swim school and kids' playground membership. Yes! We pay more money, but the cost is worth it.

Lauren and her team did a fantastic job with my daughters 5th birthday party. Lauren communicated several times with me prior to the party about our wants and needs. It was so well organized and the team did such a great job taking charge and leading activities with the kids. They set up the cutest party decor for the unicorn theme we picked and served the pizza, fruit, chips and cake that we brought. I barely had to lift a finger. The ninja birthday party (for a 7 year old boy) at Heart and Soul was great! The staff kept the kids organized and safe.

Before the children used the obstacle gym, the staff explained the rules. They monitored activity the entire time the children played.
Besides the obstacles, a colorful parachute canopy was used for additional organized play.

There was a separate room for eating. Decorations, paper plates, plastic utensils and cups were provided. We brought the beverages, pizzas, cake and ice cream.

The three staff members served all of the food! There was no chaos. Second/third servings and beverage refills went smoothly.

After eating, everyone proceeded to the lobby where chairs were set up to watch the birthday boy ooen his gifts.

The facility was very clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and managed the group of children well. They even had the children wash their hands before eating.

Thank you Heart and Soul for a perfect birthday celebration.

Our family LOVES heart and soul! It has become like a second family and a second home to us... Our 4 year old takes gym and a hip hop dance class and it’s her favorite parts to the week, she has learned so much and continues to grow. Our 2 year old also had so much to learn, she was behind on many markers due to a growth hormone deficiency she would only walk with assistance and was small for her size. Thanks to heart and soul and the determination of teacher Sammi she is walking and almost doing the whole course during her class on her own in a very short period of time. Still tiny but has the strength and determination to knock things out of the water now. Our 7 year old son takes a ninja class as well and can’t wait to show everyone is par-core every time we see family members. Camp is also a big part of my older two kids weeks when it is running they can’t wait to go and see what all teacher Jenn has in store for them. We can not thank you guys enough for creating such a welcoming, friendly, and safe environment for our family especially the kids to enjoy and get their energy out!

My daughters have participated in gymnastics, dance, and summer camp at Heart and Soul since 2016. We have consistently had a wonderful experience with the Heart and Soul staff and programs. The teachers are skilled and do a terrific job relating to and motivating children, and the administration run a very smooth ship. The dance recital was a joy for my entire family to attend, and very well organized to give the youngest dancers a taste of the joy of performing with minimal stress. The summer camp provided my youngest with a great opportunity to exercise and play with friends during summer break. Heart and Soul gives back to the community and donated in-kind services to my daughters' school PTO auction, which speaks highly of the organization. I highly recommend Heart and Soul!

Heart & Soul ran a gymnastics class at my daughter's elementary school one day a week after school and we loved it! She loved her teachers and came home each week excited about the tumbling they had done. She's in kinder and can do a better cartwheel than I can do now! There were a few times I needed to communicate with the staff, which I did by email, and they were always prompt, pleasant and accommodating.

We love Heart & Soul for many reasons! Both facilities are very welcoming and all of the staff are attentive, caring and so friendly! The wide range of classes sets them apart from other places. As my daughter has grown her interests have changed and the classes they offer have allowed us to change it up without leaving one of her favorite places! We have been coming to the "open gym" for years and it is still one of her favorite ways to spend a Saturday afternoon (esp in the summer).

We had my daughter’s six birthday party here. The party arrangements were great, I spoke to the coordinator on the phone twice, and when we arrived everything was set up wonderfully. Clean up was a breeze too, we just packed our belongings and left. We had three staff at the party, they were helpful- however none of them introduced themselves by name, they didn’t check guests in for waivers (I did that), and they could have done a better job facilitating games. Overall we’d have another party there without hesitation and for summer birthdays it’s a wonderful, active option for kids!

I started taking my daughter here last year and she loved it from the beginning. We joined one of the combo classes, these are 30 minutes of dance and 30 minutes of gymnastics. It was a great way to get her introduced to both and find out which one she likes more. The only problem I am having is that she likes both classes and now I am trying to figure out which one to put her into full-time. Everyone is really nice and helpful. I had my daughter's 4th birthday party at Heart and Soul and it was a blast. We had the whole space to ourselves and the staff was friendly, prompt, and took care of all of the liability forms so I didn't have to. They also had essential supplies for us to use when serving cake although we did have to bring forks, plates, drinks, etc. they had a fridge and enough space to fit all of my daughter's friends and their parents. The activity area was clean and very spacious so there were fewer run ins and bumping into one another. Even the adults got to do rope climbing and what not. I love this place! My daughter has been doing a ballet class at another studio for almost 10mo. but it wasnt a good fit for her. They were a little bit hard to get a hold of in the beginning. The phones kept ringing and didn't really get calls back. They replied better in email which was great in our situation because we needed copies of these emails to do an organization to help us with funding. Once we got a hold of them through email, they work quick in responding and we were able to get 3 of our girls signed up. The price is great. The kids can take as many classes as they can get into throughout the week which is great for our situation because it keeps our girls busy. The instructors are great because by their 2nd class they had improved significantly in different things. Our girls never took a class before and they do gymnastics and the hip hop tricks. They are done with their first month and gained a lot of confidence. The instructors push the kids to do the routine/tricks correctly.
