Joined this gym last month. Just looking for a casual place to get on a treadmill or elliptical. Withing days of joining, I was getting multiple calls a day nagging me about when I was going to come in or why I didnt come in. It annoyed me incredibly and scared me away quickly. I plan on joining that Mountainside Fitness on McDowell and hope they aren't as obnoxious as this place.

Just joined. OK, management. OK, sales staff. Clean club. Clean showers, hot tub, and pool. Just (4) stars, however; because another member left his cell phone (alone) to "save" a piece of equipment. He walked to the free-weight section to do sets there. What, it is his gym? I told management, and they did not approach him. Also, forgive me for being negative, but LA Fitness needs to be open 24-hours. At least M-F, like Planet Fitness is.

Bunch of calorie deficient teenagers chilling on every machine. Annoying place, terrible quality water and always a fresh smell of sweat with no fan movement.

My experience at LA Fitness has been great I must say. It's always really calm and clean. Their staff always helpful. Carol who is the manager at Tolleson has been very helpful and kind. 5 gyms closing in the Phoenix area including the one in Avondale, the largest in the area. I go to the smaller one in Tolleson but rethinking this as it is way too crowded in the 6PM - 9PM area and most of the popular good machines are constantly taken. People reserve the machines by leaving their water bottles, keys etc so that while they are away, no one can use the machine. This is very frustrating to many of us who don't play those games and simply want to use the machine for 5-10 mins and move on. Since many of the ppl in the Avondale gym will have to go to Tolleson or Goodyear, it's going to make the problem even worse. These gyms use LifeFitness machines which I believe to be the best in the business but those machines are hard to access because they are popular. We need another gym in the area.

Do not sign up here! Go to another Esporta fitness. The first thing the manager Nas tried to get me to do was to get on a tredmill with sandals. Then saying we shouldn't do cardio first. That's what ppl think it's best but it's not. Then he fat shamed a guy on a tredmil saying he has been coming for 3 years and all he does is cardio. Basically saying its not working for him. So we shouldn't start with cardio. Yet he spent 10 min showing us how to turn on a tredmill. I asked him if he was a trainer since he was giving us all this advice. He said no. But he has master trainers, and even though he is not the owner , just the manager, he gets to dictate how much the employees get paid. My jaw dropped. He did not give us a tour. He immediately sat us down and asked what training packet we wanted. When I asked about the membership price, he told me he wasn't there yet. Like..ok? I want to sign up. Show me the prices! When I asked about the starting price of 29.99 that shows online he said it includes nothing but the cardio machines and weight training. When in reality it includes everything but the nation wide and the app guidance videos. Questioned him about the initiation fee and why it's waved online. He said if you don't pay the fee, you can't upgrade to bring someone with you for additional $7. Since we had asked about that earlier. Now he was lying about that. It made no sense to me. He is a BIG liar. DO NOT! Sign up with this guy. Go somewhere else. He did everything wrong you can do with a new member. I have been in the customer service field for over 10 years. I have NO idea how this guy managed to be in an authority position. Oh yeah, lying to ppl and bringing the numbers up for the company. I don't even know if esporta would care. As long as he is bringing in the numbers. . And once we decided to leave. He confidenly said i get salary its ok if you dont sign up. General Manager has the worst customer Service. Mr. Nas should not be in the customer service industry and wouldnt even give out his name to contact corporate.

It’s a good gym! It would be great if this gym had a racquetball room! Also, the sanitizing sprays were removed.. all bottles were taken! I believe equipment should be wiped down,and not just because of COVID but all other germs and sweat from other people. So I will be bringing in my own disinfecting spray.

They did just add some new sanitizing stations with wipes! But I still prefer spray bottles but glad they are providing the sanitizing wipes!
