I have been working out at Mindful Barbell for a year and the results have been incredible. I’m more toned and more energetic than I have been in years, plus, the sessions have helped me become much stronger, aiding in overcoming mobility issues I was experiencing from weak muscles. I joined Mindful Barbell a few months ago after moving in across the street, and it’s been perfect for me. It’s small, friendly and geared toward those of us who want to stay strong and steady without the “muscle gym” vibe. Jon, the owner, is a jewel — encouraging, knowledgeable and never pushy — and his dog Hugo is a delight! I already feel stronger and more balanced, and I actually look forward to my workouts. Jonathan is a great, fun trainer! I am a snowbird who worked out with him all winter and every session was great. Jonathan worked out a program for my specific needs and we adapted as we went. He also has a great sense of humour. The added bonus is when he brings his dog, Hugo, in for the day, which is never frequent enough. 😂

Upcoming “big” birthdays are great motivators to make changes. So is a family tendency for osteoporosis. I found Mindful Barbell knowing that weight bearing exercises should be happening more often. Little did I know that soon after beginning, I’d feel better than I had in years and more confident in a strong body that can face the big birthdays ahead. Jon is genuinely kind and an excellent trainer! His depth of knowledge, communication, patience and encouragement to push harder, is worth every penny. Doesn’t hurt that he also has the goodest dog who visits the gym often. Hi Hugo!
