We provide semi-private, individualized personal training specific to our clients' sport and life performance goals, as well as health goals. We specialize in fitness for golf performance and enjoyment. Our staff members are movement specialists who are known for their ability to succeed in resolving physical problems and limitations to get the results the client was hoping for. Our gym is clean, orderly and provides a welcoming and caring environment that our clients find non-intimidating, engaging, and motivating - whatever their fitness level.

I have been looking for a way to take my golf game to another level. I had the pleasure of working with Chip this week on creating a plan to improve my golf fitness. I have had some health setbacks recently, but feel like i have a plan to make some real overall improvements.

Iβm loving my experience at Motus Performance! Chip Coleman is extremely knowledgeable and experienced, and speaks a language that makes sense to me both as a physician and a Feldenkrais practitioner - in other words, both from the structural/anatomic and the functional perspective. He and his staff are observant and attentive to the nuances of how each exercise is performed, and continuously monitor you to make sure you are adequately challenged but not over-exerting and risking injury. The training is specifically tailored to improving the aspects of fitness relevant to golf (especially balance and coordination), but its effects are apparent in ordinary activities of daily living too. And results become apparent very soon after beginning the program: I added 20 yards of accurate distance off the tee within the first couple of weeks, as well as improving consistency of contact with my other clubs.

I passed my "midterms" after four months working with Mary Ellen - she's the best! I had a big, measurable improvement in my carry distance and maybe more important, I am way more flexible and stronger making it easier to do "real life" things.

While I could workout more diligently on my off days, I feel that the weekly workout is very beneficial. Also, Chip has given me a better understanding of my golf swing and I feel that I have made lasting improvements from that knowledge.

I have been working out with a coach at Motus Performance at least twice a week for more than 11 years. I started when, after receiving shoulder surgery, my Physical Therapist told me that if I wanted to lift my grandchildren, I should work with a fitness coach to maintain muscle mass as I age. I recently hiked Yellowstone, Yosemite, and six other national parks and was more fit than some of the younger family members in our group. Although I walk every evening, committing to coached workouts has helped me maintain the strength that I have. Why Motus? They have knowledgeable and experienced coaches that I trust with my health. I plan to return to three workouts a week at Motus as soon as I can.

There are few people in Tucson with Chipβs understanding of how the body moves for an athletic achievement.
More specifically Iβm 70 and without Chip my age and injuries would be major factors in the decline of my golf game.

My son has been working with Chip Coleman for about 3 years. The workouts are designed to increase swing speed for golf and overall strength and fitness. Chip is Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified and is highly knowledgeable. Let's just say my son is long off the tee 290-300 carry at 16 years old. Thank you Chip and Motus!

My husband and I have been training active members of MOTUS/Chip/Kevin for over 14 years (yes, even before MOTUS existed!). They have seen us through aging, injuries and orthopedic surgery rehab. We are not athletes. We are retired doctors in our 60s who love hiking, biking, walking, gardening and actively traveling the world. MOTUS has enabled us to achieve all of our goals to maintain the strength, balance and energy to enjoy our busy and active lifestyle. We have a beautiful commercially equipped home gym but we need our MOTUS sessions to keep us committed, honest, engaged and motivated. What did I get from Kevin that I received from no other PT? Creativity. He was thorough, friendly, knowledgeable, flexible, caringβall the good stuff. Answered all my questions in ways I could understand. And tailored his program to my body's specific needs.
Kevin worked on my shoulder for a few months. I had gone from sending my fourth 5.12 climb in April to being unable to make hard 11 moves in May because of the shoulder impingement and pain.
He dreamt up creative, climber-specific exercises based off what was working and what wasn't. And when I (heartbreakingly) rolled my ankle after sending my first 12 (Unattended) since the shoulder injury? He got me going all over again in no time. I'm lucky I was referred to him. Kevin is quality.
