Performance Lab is a 5000 sq ft open gym that is committed to meeting you wherever you are in your health journey. We work with any level from novices to professional athletes. We specialize in individualized training, speed & agility, plyometric training, and Olympic weightlifting.

One of the best gyms I’ve been to in a while. Coming from out of town I got to experience this gym for 3 days, during that time I was met with the nicest gym owners ever! Allowing me to get a weekly pass the Performance Lab crew was nothing but friendly and helpful.
For an Olympic style lifter like myself this gym is perfect. Enough equipment and space to do anything you need to, and just as well they have both KG & pound plates.
The atmosphere and aesthetic of the gym is amazing as well. With good music always playing and some cool details throughout the gym it makes getting your daily training in much easier.
Whenever I’m back in Tucson I’m definitely coming back!

My 12-year-old son and I were introduced to Performance Lab through Ian, the owner of Premises Skate Park here in Tucson, and we couldn’t be more grateful. From the very beginning, Chris took the time to truly understand my son—not just as an athlete, but as an individual.
As a competitive skateboarder, my son has unique training needs, and Chris goes above and beyond to tailor each session specifically for him. He watches my son’s skating videos, studies his movement, and adapts the training to improve his performance. Chris is dedicated and adjusts his coaching style, incorporates my son’s favorite music (which definitely adds to the fun), and creates an environment where he thrives.
Since training with Chris, my son’s confidence, skills, and motivation have all improved. Finding passionate trainers who genuinely care, especially those who work well with highly energetic kids, can be challenging. Chris is one of those rare individuals who not only has the expertise but also the patience and enthusiasm to bring out the best in young athletes.

If you’re looking for professional training this is the place. There is a lot of kids working on speed and power for sports and seen a few professional athletes in there and some big time Olympic lifters. If you’re looking to take your performance to the next level this is the place. I thought I was in shape and then these guys kick my butt and showed me how much work I have to do. Love this gym. I recommend Michael or Chris both very experienced trainers.

Performance Lab is a great gym! I always have really great training sessions with both Mayte and Kyle ever since I joined over 2 years ago. They are both extremely knowledgeable and helpful with their sessions. I have experienced amazing growth in my own physical fitness, as well as learning to be mentally tough. Mayte is a very dedicated and caring coach. She trained me throughout my most recent pregnancy, all the way until I was 8-months along & even now in my postpartum stage. I value the PL coaches and trust their skills so much, that I recently started to bring my son for personally training sessions as well. If you are looking for a place to grow & improve, this is the place for you!

I’ve been seeing Mayte for several months now and my experience with her has been nothing but great. My training sessions with her are never the same. Each day and week is something different and challenging! She makes it fun and is extremely encouraging. She’s also very accommodating, being 8 months pregnant has made training difficult but her expertise and wealth of knowledge allows her to still program my sessions! Her communication skills are top notch as well and she’s easy to work with. I can’t say enough great things about her. If you’re looking for a great trainer who will challenge you and help you become the best version of yourself, Mayte is your girl!

This is a great gym! Amazing facility, top equipment and great trainers. I highly recommend personal training with Mayte! I first started off with her classes, which are very fun, yet challenging! Being a newbie to strength training, Mayte guided me and was very accommodating to my level. She’s genuinely caring, attentive and overall a wonderful human that’s changed my life for better!

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience at this gym. This was not a beginner friendly space for me.
I attempted the trial period with Mayte, and was pressured to not continue the program or return for the third day, despite asking politely that she see how I do with weights.
I got the impression that she saw me as a waste of time, so I did not return despite liking another trainer. It did not feel like a safe space to return to. That is my experience.
If you are at a more advanced level, this might be your fit. But as a beginner who was trying to return to the gym after years of neglecting it, this was not the correct environment.

Great Trainers. Great place to get better. People are very supportive and the trainers make sure you give it your 110%. And don't worry if you are not able to go one day, they will help you through apps and Txt to make sure you get your workout done home or anywhere you are. Will definitely be my go to place at Tucson AZ.

I've only been attending for a little over 2 weeks now and I can say I'll be a member for a really long time. I went for a personal trainer, his name is Chris and he is a great trainer. never felt intimidated or awkward and everyone seems very nice. Lots of equipment and open area for different activities, also very clean. if you're coming from a big box gym you'll notice a huge difference in the tools and support you have available. Do yourself a favor and come down for a gander. You wont regret it!
