I deleted my old review of 3 stars to change it to 5. Mainly because of the customer service i received from the new acting manager named Cash. He was attentive, and addressed my concerns right away with no issue. He made me feel valued as a customer as well. I remember when he started and noticed then how he was always putting in extra effort stocking things and cleaning. The men's restroom even smelled a little better after he started (we all thought that was impossible). Corporate, take care of this young man, he takes great care of us.

Dear Mgmt -
I stopped by recently to possibly rejoin. What happened to the decent overhead music? The stuff being played was NOT anything that would endear one to join. When I was a member there a few years back, the music was gym music. What happened? The problem with the obnoxiously loud speaker in the bathroom finally got fixed, but now the music just plain sucks. PF is NOT Fitness 19, and that's the way we like it. In addition, what was with the little toiletry holder sitting there on the floor in one of the shower stalls? Kind of makes one wonder who cleans the stalls and how they do so.

I have had many Planet Fitness memberships throughout the state of Arizona. Prescott, Tempe, Central Phoenix, and always have had a great experience.

This location in Cottonwood is way too small. During rush hour it gets packed like sardines. The place is so small during the winter, windows get foggy and is super gross.

I think is funny how they have a sign at the front door that says max capacity 230 members when they have 20 machines and max capacity is 15 people. After many years of Planet fitness in many different cities and had great experience. However, this location is way too small for my liking and not worth it anymore. Many bigger gyms, which are not crowded and you have room to breathe. LOCATION TO SMALL FOR A PLANET FITNESS. Sing says max capacity 200 being realistic max capacity 20 people with 15 machines inside.

This place is crowded and huge disappointment they took out the 30 min circuit. Now it’s almost impossible to get a full workout in a short time as there are so few machines and so many people in this small gym. And the old circuit area hardly has any people using that area so it’s a huge waste.

Unfortunately I had a terrible experience here from the moment I walked in. No smiles or warmness. Just immediate militant demands and a severe lack of customer service skills.

The front desk associate was snarky and demeaning. He spoke to me like I was unintelligent and clearly lacks respect.

When I didn’t receive this well, instead of empathizing and take ownership in a friendly manner, the manager Noah one upped his associate by providing unnecessary comments in a narcissistic mansplanning manner. When I addressed the comments he laughed them off as “jokes”.

Noah said he is the new manager. I suggest the owner provides customer service training to his team including the new manager.

If you are a woman, I highly suggest staying far away from this gym under this new management.

I will not be returning.

The customer service provided at the Prescott location is amazing, also run by a male, but one who has better respect for their female customers.

So everyone knows if your more than 4 days late for membership it costs 20 dollars in late fees. They also do not attempt to charge your backup payment method until after late fees have incurred. SCAM ALERT! Worste gym app out. If you don't pay on time they charge extra. Canceling subscription biggest headache in the world. Wouldn't recommend any of my friends use this gym.

Absolute grade A customer service! I left my nice custom engraved Yeti Thermos at the gym one night and came back the next day to ask if they still had it. Noah Skelton the club manager said he had put it in the lost and found area but when we went to check it wasn’t there. I figured someone swiped it and walked out a little disappointed. I got a call a couple hours later from Noah stating that he checked the cameras and saw that someone mistakenly took my thermos thinking it was theirs that looks very similar and that he asked them to bring it back in and they did so. Noah had no need to do this and went ABOVE AND BEYOND to fix something that I screwed up. Huge shoutout to him and the team at PF Cottonwood!

Super helpful staff. We have been traveling with our RV and stopping in various Planet Fitnesses around the south. Living in Turkey our phone won’t allow us to download planet fitness app, so we have been trying to check in with various options like a phone number, name or email. But each time we had a problem. Until the guys at the front desk took their time and printed our barcodes for easy check in.
About the facilities, It’s a small planet fitness but have up to date machines. And most important of all they had hot water in showers.

Definitely the worst planet fitness I’ve been in.

Found rolled up dollar bill drug paraphernalia in the stair stepper machine and then went into the worst bathroom layout I’ve ever seen. The showers were directly next to the toilets and so you had to shower and smell the person using the toilet right next to you the entire time. Also very un private.

The staff here are incredibly helpful and will go above and beyond to help. The free weights along with the cardio equipment will keep you going for hours. They offer TVs there for when you need to distract yourself to keep going, they also have massage chairs, tanning, and very clean bathrooms.

My husband and I joined and loved going here. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Employees are great , facility is small but nice and well kept. The problem is their assistant manager. She is the most condescending person I have ever encountered, refusing to help over the phone, says you have to go down in person. Not kidding. She is not helpful, I have a $10 membership that if you're at all late they assess a late charge of $10!
I have been trying to cancel for 2 months and I refuse to pay the late fees that cost as much as the membership. Go to the Rec Center, friendlier more helpful group!

No other Planet Fitness, I've been to checks a "Guests ID" But every time i go into the place with my son they check my ID here at "Cottonwood AZ Planet Fitness" I think they do it on purpose to aggravate the person to where they don't want to go there anymore. If I could give 0 stars I would as of yesterday. Went to cancel the membership for my wife because we just had a baby and she hasn’t had time to go. When I gave my information the manager Ashley got snippy and said that’s not you. I said ya I know it’s my wife, My wife and newborn were in the car it was raining and sleeting. COLD SHOWER and nowhere to hang even a towel in the shower stall, let alone any soap or products. Changing rooms are across the locker room so you shower then walk wet across the tile floor to make it into a changing room so maybe someone breaks their neck walking into the bathroom unawares. None of the design makes sense.

Please purchase some command hooks to make showering a little easier and cleaner. Maybe 3 hooks to a shower- clothes, towel, and products. Doesn’t really seem like rocket science but maybe it is.

Planet fitness is a much needed addition to the Verde Valley. They have fantastic and professional staff. Excellent equipment, tanning booth and tables, massage chairs and hydro lounger make it a great place to work out! The only thing I would suggest is going back to being open 24hrs.

As an avid traveler I use my black card membership in every state I travel too. I used the Phoenix gym day prior so I figured let me hop to this one.

This location is in a shopping center so no way to get lost :) there is plenty of parking that will not be an issue.

It is a bit smaller that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have all the essential gym equipment to get a great workout in.

There is one complete row of treadmills on the outskirts nearest the restrooms.

Equipment :
17 treadmills (usb/headphone ports)
11 ellipticals
2 row machines
4 seated bicycles
2 road bicycle seat machine
1 seated pedal pushing machine
1 seated hand pedal machine
2 stair step machines
2 smith machines
2 cable stand stations
1 pull up assist machine

Then it is 1 of every machine from arms/ legs/glutes/abs

There is also a Fitness Training center with weighted medicine balls/physoballs/ and two glute/calf machines.

There are 5 cleaning stations.

2 sets of wall lockers outside of the locker rooms .

Women’s room is first then the men’s it’s on the back wall as soon as you walk past the fitness equipment.

1 water fountain station

There is the PF 30 minute express workout :) so all the equipment for those workouts are in that area :)

14 tvs….. gonna be honest there are more tvs then even treadmills

There is the black card spa with the seated and laying massage equipment tanning beds

There is a cooler to the side of the check in counter with cold drinks if you forgot yours.

You can also purchase tanning items locks and headphones from behind the counter.

The men’s locker room is astonishingly the cleanest planet fitness I have ever been too.

There is a station for you to charge your things and blow dry your hair.

Now why the club got 3 stars.
The front desk agent who checked me in was arrogant. When I scanned in instead of that normal interaction I got your card is expired.
First I’m hearing of it since my insurance covers my PF membership. I then asked him is it my old account because I have two. I got NO, Instead he got aggressive in tone and said you need to call your gym because it’s saying your CC is expired. I knowing I had multiple accounts asked him to look it up the other account, I got meet with a NO call your gym. I called and spoke with a rep who said I was correct he was looking at the old account and he would put a note. I waited 20 mins to have him test my tag again and still showing expired card. I asked if he would be willing to talk with them with me on my phone. Again NO this time with more aggressive understands as if he raising his voice with deeper inflection was going to somehow stop me from having questions. Why was I able to scan into Phoenix with no issues? Why was he not willing to provide the customer service that anyone in his position is to do to ensure every account is checked especially if the consumer knows there are more than one. I called PF again in Austin and spoke with Rep who advised it’s a call center you don’t actually talk with the branch. The woman advised she saw that note wasn’t done but that yes I have two accounts and the gym front desk rep should be able to see that and not have an issue. She went ahead did some updating and then I came back inside with her on the phone because I wasn’t about to have another negative interaction. The younger man’s attitude immediately changed. When it was updated, 30 mins I could have been working out I had to do something that is part of that young man’s job.

Moral of the story if your representatives at the front desk are going to be toxic to members that will affect the overall experience. Especially when your member is from out of town, it sends the wrong message that you’re not welcomed in the gym.

I was a member of Golds Gym and later 24 Hrs fitness for over 30 years before moving to Cottonwood area and started using Planet Fitness. I love it, very clean, good people and I won't go anywhere else. Just have a request which is that the management fixes the equipment faster if broken.

Well, I still believe what I said in my original review with few exceptions. Even though the the men restroom survived with one restroom sink since the second one was broken last year in October but it got fixed 2 weeks ago so now both sinks are usable. This location in Cottonwood used to have real hard working, pleasant staff and I understand staff member has the right to leave for a better paid job but what I do not understand why all the sudden 80% of the stuff who were working during my visit timeframe which is 6:30 PM up not there anymore. The result is that last night the men restroom reminded me the Walmart restroom. Dirty sinks, full trashcan and no normal cleaning activity which has been a custom in this location. Hope someone pays attention before it is late.

I worked out here for the first time yesterday as I'm searching for a regular gym in my area. It's very clean and not too crowded when I went in on a Sunday afternoon. There is a VIP area with tanning bed, 2 hydromassage beds, and 2 massage chairs. I asked the front desk people if I could try out the hydro-massage bed and the massage chair... they let me try the hydro bed but not the massage chair saying that you can only try one thing and that's it. I get that I'm there on a free trial day, but it just seemed stingy.

Most gyms let you try a free week, that's pretty standard to give you a better idea of what they offer. PF gives you 1 day. There are no classes & if there's a personal trainer on staff, I didn't get to meet them. Customer Service could definitely use some spiffing here.

I almost want to just sign up for a month and see if these issues change, BUT my impression wasn't great. If I'm not blown away by Snap Fitness, then I'll consider joining PF.

There were also two homeless people camped right out front of the PF. It makes me think that my car isn't safe there, as there also seems to be a lot of shady people in the back of the parking lot just hanging out in their cars. It's definitely a great gym, but I may keep looking.
The "Lunk Alarm" thing is a little strange too. I totally agree that people shouldn't be meat heads and make a bunch of grunting noises whilst slamming their weights, but to actually make it a thing...? Weird.

This Planet Fitness is in a shopping plaza in Cottonwood. Easy to get to and convenient. It’s prob the smallest PF I’ve been in and didn’t have all the machines I’m used to but they had enough for a good workout. It wasn’t busy when I was there on a Thursday afternoon in November. Staff were friendly and the gym was nice and clean. The showers however were a bit miserable. Only about a minute or so of nice hot water before it turned cool and unpleasant {I tried all the showers and they were all either luke warm or turned Luke warm quickly}. Not sure if this is by design to encourage folks to only take short showers but it def made my showering experience not fun! We’re full time RV’rs and come for a workout AND a shower {having a hot clean shower is v important to us}. So….if having a hot shower is important, or having a large gym with alll the things, this might not be the place for you! There are other PF gyms in Flagstaff and Prescott.

We are full time rv people and the black card is great for us, but the gym is not, and Prescott is 41 mi. one way from Verde which has a full size gym with 3x as much equipment but is too far to drive 3x a week. Very disappointing 😕 😞 😔 😒 😪.

Valarie and her team are just unbelievable I truly feel like they are there to ensure my success. They clean all the time, I’ve been traveling around the country and my hometown Cottonwood team is the cleanest I’ve seen. They know me by name and not because they see it on a screen they just know me. I look forward going to my Planet at home it’s my happy place away from everything. I want to make sure that Planet Leaders know what a tremendous job the Cottonwood team does and how they need to be recognized for working extra hard for being big city gym with home town feel. I’m amazed on their outstanding customer service, organization, cleanliness and attention to detail.

Small but they have it all. However they are not 24 hours. M-F: 4am-10pm. Sat & Sun: 6am-8pm. No shower soap.

Almost every time I go in to planet fitness people are on the equipment in the 30 minute workout that aren’t doing the regular routine they get on machines and they stay there on one machine it is not up to other members to tell them what the rules are this area should be monitored I’ve been there with people sitting on a machine Just talking on their phone others get on one machine and just stay on there for a half an hour 45 minutes I don’t understand why a staff member cannot monitor this area when you have three staff members at the front desk

I've been a member here for 1 year. Never ever a problem. Pop in tonight for 5 minutes of tanning and am tod I can't because they close in 15 minutes. Hmmmm 5 minutes and I can't tan when I would clearly be in and out. No Bueno

Went in today with a free one day pass from the Planet Fitness website. Was told I could not use it at this location because it’s too small to watch everyone, which seems pretty ridiculous. I just wanted to try it out and see how everything works before committing to a membership. Unfortunately the woman at the counter was not helpful nor friendly, and said she couldn’t understand why that was even available on the website.

Very upbeat and clean fitness center with 30 minute circuit training and heated water massage tables to relax after your workout. The only thing missing are group classes. This has been canceled during the pandemic.

I decided to join Planet Fitness since all the National Forest are closed around here so no hiking. I am happy with the club and will probably keep my membership once all these fires are over. The only thing I would like to see is some kind of caddy holders in the showers to hold shampoo and body wash bottles so dont have to set them on the shower floor.

Standard no frills place to use work out machines and a massage chair. There's something very pleasing about the link alarm, though I've never seen it pulled. Great deal for the membership price. It's a Planet Fitness.
