I usually love coming here and will probably enjoy it as usual in another day, but today was ridiculous. The kid in there decided it was a good time to mop right next to me on the treadmill. I had to leave because of breathing in the fumes from the cleaner he was using. I was on a huge incline and pounding away so I inhaled a crap ton of that and I started choking.

So recently I’ve been trying to get my subscription cancelled, (moved, so I wasn’t close to a planet fitness anymore) and even though my app said it was cancelled I was still getting charged.

This specific location 2643 E broadway Rd, went so above and beyond to help me get it canceled and were so nice about it, and they updated me so much and they were overall such an amazing place to talk to, even if it meant I was leaving, they were so amazing to me. I definitely recommend this place!! Amazing staff!!

This is old tired gym Equipment breaks down and takes a long time to repair And some of the equipment is still not repaired, like padding on the equipment
Another issue is the fact that it is dirty. On Friday there was a piece of garbage by one of the stationary bikes, it was still there Sunday
The staff is friendly, however many of them seem to spend time on their cell phones, it use to not be this way

Update was in there a couple of weeks ago I counted 17 devices broken. Some of them have been broken for weeks. Asked the staff and they said it was hard to get maintenance out there to fix the equipment.

Yesterday there were 10 devices broken and one of the devices has been broken for almost three months

I've been a member for just shy of ten years with a black card and at the lower tier for another year or two. Occasionally I'd forget to leave funds in my bank account and the monthly ACH payment overdrafted but they always got their money first. As this was very infrequent my bank always ended up doing a courtesy waiver of their own fee.

During covid when everything shut down they obviously stopped billing while gyms were closed and then a few months later than usually would have done it they suddenly decided it was a good time to pull the annual fee. I think it may be been pro-rated. They did not extend the courtesy of any notice that they were going to resume.

Just the other day I overlooked the monthly date and immediately added money. Thankfully there was a line item in my bank ledger showing the attempted withdrawal noting no fee for the deficiency. Initially I thought they would try again but have discovered that in my Planet Fitness account they added a $20 "late fee". The app tells me I can sign in to work out exactly once before squaring up.

Thing is that I haven't even been going to the gym all for about nine months. I mean to of course. Now I am greatly irritated. If they want to retain me as a member that fee had better disappear.

I mean I pay money to come to these places to receive decent accommodations I feel is fair but when you need to spend more time cleaning g up something because all 6 people laughing in the front can't do their job and this is actually the second time I went to that gym 3 days apart and this was also there the 3 days prior but at that time I just moved over to another shower that was available but that was not the case this time . No other shower were available there was even someone waiting to use the shower but refused to go to this one because it needed cleaned bit ya to spend more time cleaning up something I did not even make or even get paid for than cleaning myself person because I had to get to an appointment did not have all day I mean these.pvots may look gross but in person was worse there was a nasty white weird feeling substance that casted the whole shower stall

Newly renovated with quite a bit more equipment and different layout than before. If you left because it was hard to find what you needed, try again.

Gets a little busy around 5pm M-R Friday-Sun not as much. A little more full with free memberships for high schoolers... but it's all good.

The gym itself is very nice. It's clean, the equipment is like new and it's never too crowded like most gyms. My only issue was with Scarlet. She's rude and condescending and not a very bright business woman, to be in her position. I went to check it out with a friend. She talked to both of us and gave us a tour. After we sat at the front tables and Scarlett proceeded to offer a discount code to my friend, for signing up. After a few weeks of being a "guest" I went to Scarlett said I'd like to join and she said great and explained how to sign up online. I asked about the discount code my friend got and she said it's only for certain people. Sounding discriminatory, I said what certain people? She said just certain people. No clear explanation. I said, you are refusing to give me the code, which in turn will stop me from purchasing a membership for $24.99 a month? This means I will just come every single time with my friend as her guest. So you'd rather lose a paying member all for a discount on the sign-up fee? She said she didn't understand. I said give me the discount and I'll sign up, which I will pay $24.99 a month around $300 a year. Don't give me the discount and you'll get zero dollars from me, losing revenue. She said what? Another employee had to explain it to her, as well as my friend, then she got irritated and gave me the code. This isn't manager mentality, someone with any business experience and lacks customer service. A company is only as good as it's employees.

If you’re black don’t go to this location. The “manager” scarlet is very rude and and likes to make comments about you to her staff. Then when you report the issue to another manager Scarlet will make repeated phone calls to you from the company phone to tell you how you’re wrong and how she didn’t say what u think she said. Which is very unprofessional because why would you call my phone if it is not about my bill or membership status? Do better and the nerve to wait a week and then personally look me up in the system to call and confront me is beyond ridiculous. I've enjoyed Planet Fitness for years and have been consistently pleased with the level of service, cleanliness, and facility in six different locations. My current location, central Mesa, has had the added challenge of maintaining a safe environment through this pandemic, including rebooting twice due to mandated shutdowns. Even with the extra burden that this imposed on staff schedules, they have always had personable, professional people on the floor to keep the place clean and assist clients. Since October, Brandy, the new manager, has been exceptionally proactive in all of these issues and makes us feel valued and respected, showing a personal interest in our experience while maintaining the quality of staff and current additional health protocols. In addition to PF's transparent membership policy and no-pressure attitude, this level of service has kept me a loyal member. Thanks, Brandy, and to the PF Mesa crew.

There are MAJOR discrepancies with the time y’all close. When we signed up not even two three weeks ago the closing time for Saturday and Sunday were midnight. Staff specifically told us midnight. Come to find out weekends including Friday, closes at 9pm. So the only time it’s actually 24 hours is during the week, conveniently, when a lot of people work. I feel very misled because of this. Staff vs website all tell you something different.

Though staff is nice, they have no say in what actually happens. Bullying in the locker rooms, someone with a light blue bike using an entire bike rack, people don’t clean after themselves, staff won’t help resolve any of these issues.

Lots of empty paper towel dispensers at any given time. I think this place could use a LOT of improvement. The machines are all in good working order expect one water massage bed. Locker 78 in the men’s room has no way to lock it. Little details can go a long way! Regardless, great gym to go to on a budget!

The gym's equipment is always well-maintained and functioning. The staff is friendly. Most importantly, the gym is not overpacked like EOS Fitness. I can actually get a workout in without feeling like I'm in some overpopulated urban hellscape. I switched to EOS for about a few weeks and came right back to Planet Fitness.
