Tucson City Golf Courses have a history of good and bad times, when the courses have been well and poorly maintained. It's currently in a phase of good condition after an overhaul some years ago. Dell Urich like Randolph North is unassuming as it is generally flat with few turns or challenging corners and traps, but it was developed about 100 years ago. The distance is still tour length and there's little rough to speak of unless you hit one of the numerous trees that separate the links, otherwise it's fairly wide enough for most bogey or better players. Carts are included, but you can get a discount for walking and there are plenty of those. The pace is fair and there are several putting practice locations.

For years the range ball dispensers have not worked properly. Anything from not working at all to double charging credit cards. Now the dispensers only handle codes or supposedly cash, but you can't count on either. Bathrooms renovated a few years ago only to start failing again. At best, inconsistent playing conditions. This past summer, no drinking water on some of the courses. How do you run a golf course in AZ, in the summer, and not provide adequate drinking water. Seems like a legal trouble waiting to happen. Fee structure changes that started in Jan of 2025 that cut on resident card point earnings, extended seaonal peak rates into non-peak season (summer). Higher greens fees. Higher fees for resident card. I'm hearing that management is going to be running a differential rate so golfers pay more when the course is busier. I'd really like to know how any of this promotes MUNICIPAL golf. Overall, Troon gets an F for running Tucson muni golf and that F has been going on for a long time. I'd rather have course management go back to the City of Tucson.

I don't remember to much it was a bad round. And alcohol. Course was genrally in good shape , however there was a ton of rain and much of the course is sloppy soft muddy and wet. Kinda not their fault , bring a towel to wipe and place your ball , they were pumping out several bunkers.

Fairways are too close which leads to people stealing your balls when they are looking for theirs. Green speeds are super inconsistent and their score cards donβt match the holes. They also somehow lost our reservation and made it an inconvenience trying to get started. Definitely never playing this course again.

I just golfed this course for the first time and I was really impressed with the condition. Very green and lush! I would compare the quality to Tubac. Greens were weirdly slow but all in all a great course! They offered us iced towels complimentary waters at the turn which I thought was fantastic!

From tee to green, this course is a model of outstanding management. The fairways and greens are impeccably maintained, the staff is professional and welcoming, and pace of play is well-organized. Everything runs smoothlyβfrom the pro shop to the starter to the clubhouseβmaking each round a pleasure. Their attention to detail and commitment to service shows in every aspect of the facility. Easily one of the best-run courses Iβve played

Driving range markers didn't get moved in the morning so we warmed up in complete dirt patch, tee boxes were horrible, fairways were dirt. Pace of play was atrocious, and clowns were picking up our balls left and right with now care in the world. Will not return and I will spread the word about the horrible experience I had. Should be a 25$ round that cost over $50 in the dead of summer what a joke.

Disappointing Changes at Randolph Golf Course β Pricing Out the Locals
As a long-time Tucson resident and regular player at Randolph Golf Course, Iβm disheartened by the recent changes under the new general manager. The summer rates β traditionally a time when locals could enjoy affordable golf in the Arizona heat β have more than doubled. This dramatic price hike comes without any visible course improvements to justify it.
Randolph has always been a community course, a place where Tucsonans of all ages and backgrounds could play without breaking the bank. Now, it feels like the course is being turned into an exclusive venue, pushing out the very people who have supported it for years.
The greens and facilities remain largely unchanged. No major renovations, no new amenities β just higher prices. Golf is already an expensive sport, and for many of us, Randolph was one of the few accessible options. These price hikes send a clear message: locals are no longer the priority.
Itβs frustrating to see a public course head in this direction, especially when it has such a rich history of serving the community. I hope the management reconsiders these changes before the course loses the loyalty of the very people who have kept it thriving.

Good municipal but they do not give a military discount even though military tee times gives you a certain price for this course, they charge you more. I'll say the CP value of this course is undebatable, though the condition was not impressed, but the course design is fantastic.
The characteristics of Randolph Dell Urich course is that there's a lot big ditches alongside the fairways, though not bunkers, but still going to cost you if you don't handle the next shot well.

I love Reid Park and the two golf courses that are there. This is a great treasure for our community!
The greens and fairways are doing so well, especially coming off a very hot dry summer!
Notwithstanding toppled trees from the monsoon winds, the clean-up occurred relatively quickly.
The help staff in the pro shop, with the carts, and the beverage cart are friendly and helpful.
The only improvement I am looking for has to do with the score I record on my round!! I'll keep working on that!

Part 1: I have been a Tucson resident for almost 40 years. I have been playing golf at our city courses for years. Charging almost $50 to walk 18 holes and not even having grass in the fairways is ridiculous. Greens are in better condition than they have been, but come on guys. How much did you spend on the green paint for the dirt? I'm thinking that money might have been better spent.
Part 2: It is now almost the middle of March and we are still hitting off the mats on the range on a regular basis. The overnight low was in the mid 40s. Come on guys the grass looks to be in good condition. Why are we hitting on the mats.
Updat: It is now almost May. The balk machine at the driving range still doesn't work right. This has been an issue for almost 5 years now. Any plans on fixing this guys? You sure are charging a premium for golf at the city course but don't seem to be spending that income wisely. Do better!!

Sadly, I must update my review from a 4 star to a 2 after our round today, 3-17-2023. They are in desperate need of a ranger on the North course. We left after 15 holes, as we were waiting on every shot. Even though we only played 15 holes, we were still out there for just short of 4 hours. It would have taken 5 hours if we had played the entire 18. There is no reason ANY round of golf should take that long to play.
Great staff at this golf course. Super friendly and VERY efficient. They do a great job at moving people through a very busy public course. Zach, in the pro shop, is especially great! The course is in decent shape for this time of year, although some lies a
re a bit on the thin side. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our round!

Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming but there was one rude older male that profiled me and the guys I was golfing with. Before even greeting us or wishing us good luck or even telling us to have a good round of golf he accused us of sneaking in beer and he did this as he was driving by on his golf cart. I stood up for myself and told him that we actually bought beer from the club house that we had in our ice chest and I even walked over to him to show him my receipt even though I didn't need to do it. I also let him know that since he is an employee, that he should be more courteous to the guest and maybe not judge people just because of the color of their skin. I probably will not come back to this golf course and it's a shame because it is one of the nicer city courses here but I would rather go to a course that isn't as nice if that means I will be treated with respect while me and my friends and family are visiting.

Visited 07MAY2022 - The pro shop guy and starter were friendly. The North course was in great shape. Tee time was 5:57a, but we were allowed to tee off at 5:52a. I didn't look at a clock until I was in my vehicle and the clock read 9:08a. Yes, a 3hr round with a foursome and 2 players were walking. There wasn't much of any introductions on the first tee and not much conversation during the round. A couple of the players would head for the next tee when they finished putting buy before the entire group was finished putting. I'm not used to playing like this so it was a bit unnerving. I guess this is why the round only took 3 hours.

After so many seasons, the GM still has not replaced or fixed the problematic card reader. Customers are constantly wasting time with trying to pay for a bucket of balls. Also, recommend that the GM update the range operating hours on the major search site Google for Tuesdays since it's not open until 8, only 6 on that day (last bucket at 5:20). This major city course has the potential, but the constant missing details are overcoming the positives.
