Wanted to come here and share my very personal experience, I’ve lost over 120lbs from surgery and I’ve started working out to gain some much needed muscle. In order to gain muscle you must eat more, Right? Well for me I’m unable to eat more than 3 oz at a time. So this has been challenging, because of that I’m anemic can’t seem to hold on to the nutrients, the Dr wanted to discuss injections and more iron pills, in order to stay in the normal range!! I told Mike I don’t want more iron pills it’s to hard on my already sensitive stomach..well thanks to Mike I took a more natural approach.
I’m here to tell you in 5 weeks I’m with the upper range( I can donate blood again), no longer anemic and wait for it… for the 1st time in 3 and 1/2 years my white blood cell count has gone up!!!! Dr said whatever your doing Keep Doing It!!! I can’t tell you how much better I feel!! I was resistant at first, but now I’m hooked!!!
Thank you so much for helping me realize there are other options to prescriptions!!! Mike is not only helping me build muscle he’s helping me get the vital nutrients I need to be completely healthy!!!

Where to start... Mike was referred to me by Dr. Denise (my acupuncturist), after I’d become less active due to ongoing knee issues. I’d already tried physical therapy, various medications, and injections, but I was still in pain, had limited range of motion, and was heavily favoring my injured leg.
After a challenging and pretty humbling first session, (I was in denial of how inflexible I'd become) I almost didn't go back! However, Mike's chill attitude, patience and sense of humor made me give it another try. I started noticing small changes almost immediately and my gait, balance and strength improve with every workout. Mike is pretty creative - if a movement feels intimidating or painful, he always has a smart work around that makes it feel doable and successful.
Beyond our sessions, Mike has also recommended some great products that have empowered me to continue making progress on my own between sessions. He is obsessed with zero-drop, barefoot-style shoes — and yes, he’s converted me.) Oh, and bonus points: I love that he takes playlist requests, and lets you roll your eyes when needed - without judgement - I think. He’ll hold your feet to the fire… but he’ll also bring you water.
If you're struggling with mobility issues, pain, or just looking for a supportive and fun workout, I wholeheartedly recommend Mike. After breaking my hip last year and devastating complications from surgery, I needed to learn how to walk again. I tried it on my own, but all I did was create a mess of my muscle memory on how to do it (think Frankenstein). I met a new friend who saw my gait and she said, "I know who can help you with that". Mike has been working with our family (ages 8 to 46) for over 10 years. The entire family has, at some point or another, received personal attention from him related to some emergent muscle or joint issue, which he expertly attends to and resolves. He refreshes all our workouts to keep us engaged and happy. Not only is he a knowledgeable and engaging personal trainer, but he has also become a personal friend of the family.

I had issues with being unable to feel and/or engage my glutes on one side of my body and had quit exercising due to feeling like I was only working one side. Mike showed me some great exercises and techniques to activate my muscles and confirm that, even though I have no sensation in my left side, I’m working each side of my body equally. I won’t ever enjoy exercise but he makes it doable.

Mike has been great! I came to him after knee surgery and physical therapy. Physical Therapy (which was painful for my knees) was not addressing my issues which was that I needed strength and to stop using my skeletal system so much, but first we needed to get the muscles firing. Mike was able to work with me and keep my knees out of pain while doing the exercises. I started seeing him in December of 2023 it is now June 2024 and I have seen and feel significant increase in my strength. He is always very patient, very educated in his field, and fun to work with.

Ive been seeing Mike weekly for about 6 months now. What a difference! He makes the works outs fun and enjoyable. He works with any difficulties you may have during an exercise and will adjust it to benefit you without harm. Ive noticed I'm getting stronger and feeling better Any aches and pains that I had are improved. If you want to get started on a fitness journey, you cant go wrong checking out Mike.

Four months ago I was debilitated by sciatic nerve pain that stopped me from carrying out my daily activities. My 1st month was nonstop internet searching the many people who had just the right stretch that would cure my pain. I gave that a month… nothing helped. My 2nd month I went to PT, had just 10 % improvement with cookie cutter exercise routine with no one watching me to make sure I was doing the details of the exercises correct so that healing could take place. Then a friend who trains with Mike told me “I know someone who can help you heal from your pain! My trainer” A Trainer!! My thoughts of a Drill Sargent yelling at me, motivation through mild humiliation, piling on more weights and reps to the point I wouldn’t be able to walk after my sessions, all at an outrageous fee. But I was in so much pain and getting tired of dealing with the pain… what did I have to lose!! Boy was I surprised and pleased with Mike! Mike fits none of my worrisome thoughts! Mike is more than a trainer, he is a gifted instructor and a healer! First, Mike is comfortable to be around. His strategy is to find and focus on the Cause of the pain so that long term healing can take place, never to return. In finding the Cause, Mike showed me how my painful hip area was compensating for my weaker other side! During my session, Mike would “talk” about the importance of building muscle strength and stability (correctly) to heal my current pain and to prevent other areas of pain later on in life. So, after just 3 ½ weeks doing 2 sessions a week with Mike, my pain/discomfort was down 85%! With the discomfort basically gone, I chose to continue training with Mike to continue building my body strength and stability correctly.
Thanks Mike for the healing, your knowledge, quality training and an enjoyable time mixing them all together during my one hour sessions that fly by so fast!!

I started seeing Mike in November of 2022, I had basically no gym / exercises experience and was intimidated by giant gyms. Mike put me at ease immediately during out phone consultation and it has been smooth sailing ever since! The workouts are tailored to my needs and goals, and he's just a fun and knowledgeable guy too! I highly recommend if you're looking for a trainer and private gym experience to give Mike a call! I even brought my husband with me and now we work out as a couple with Mike as well. There is no B.S., no intimidation and upfront on pricing and scheduling. Also, he NEVER cancels so you don't have to worry about not getting into see him every week.

Mike has been the first personal trainer I've ever used. I wanted to get in better shape, but I have always struggled to find the motivation to keep consistent. I live quite a sedentary lifestyle because of my work and hobbies, but working with Mike has gone a long way towards fixing the back problems I've been dealing with for years. Nobody wants to feel like they have back problems when they are only 30 years old, and thanks to the exercises I do with Mike I haven't had my usual twinge of pain down my spine while trying to work out. He always makes sure my form is correct and helps identify weaknesses and where I need to improve. Working on muscles that I have neglected for years has really made me feel comfortable and confident in what I am doing in the gym. To top it all of Mike is friendly, approachable, and not at all intimidating. We spend our time between sets cracking jokes and I've never been happier to make time to go exercise each week. I'd recommend him to just about anyone, but especially if you have always wanted to get into better shape, but haven't felt comfortable in those large gym environments and want someone who can show you how to exercise properly without hurting yourself.

I’ve known Mike for 20+ years, including the beginning of his career as a personal trainer. Two things have always remained constant…the love he has for his field, and the commitment and passion he has for the people he trains.
Having been a personal trainer myself, I thought I knew all I needed to know about fitness. I was the typical “gym rat” and all I cared about was aesthetics. Years of this way of thinking proved to be detrimental to my posture and I started noticing that my left foot was turning outwards and I was developing a lean to the left side. Not to mention, the pain I experienced after every workout. I didn’t know what was wrong exactly, but I knew 2 things: I was breaking down inside, and I needed help.
After going to countless physical therapists and doctors, I was about ready to give up. They all seemed to have the same thing to say, and they all rushed me though the session with only their next session on their mind. None of them really seemed to care about what was going on with me, or even worse, how to fix it.
Working with Mike has been great in so many ways. You can tell right from the beginning, that he really cares and wants to see you improve. Whether your goals are muscle growth, weight loss, or even dealing with that nagging pain you live with on a day to day basis (we all have at least one). He really commits to helping his clients and takes the time to understand your problem, and will spend extra time researching your issue if necessary. Whatever it takes to help you achieve your goals!
Give Mike 10 minutes of your time, you won’t be sorry!

Mike at Realiztic Fitness is an amazing personal trainer and "pain whisperer". Mike is so talented at addressing and fixing pain issues on the fly. I can show up for a training session for example with lower back pain and on the fly, Mike can adjust my training exercises to help alleviate my pain. I have been working out at Realiztic fitness for over 5 years.
