My son likes the YMCA the staff is very friendly I am not happy with the pricing I was charged $370 on march 25th for my son to start and then another $370 on the April 1st when I called I was informed they would have Heidi reach out to me she never did I emailed her she never responded once I came to pick my son up about 3days later I asked are you Heidi to a woman she said yes I said I emailed you and called trying to get an understanding why I was charged 370 again and my son just started she went to her email like she didn’t know I emailed her or if I was trying to reach her then said well we don’t pro rate anything which was very upsetting because if you would have said that when I spoke to you on the phone prior to getting him enrolled I would have waited for him to start it’s just very upsetting I don’t plan to keep my son there after May it’s way too expensive especially being a Mesa resident and for 1 child I feel very much so scammed out of my money to pay $740 and my son has only went there for a few days is insane

Associate's are very helpful and friendly. The gym is very clean and there are many different types of exercise equipment to fit everyone's fitness abilities. There are also many exercise classes to attend for all types of people.

I like the environment, the quality of people who work out there, the lack of loud music and videos, that the equipment is in good repair. It's not overcrowded and you can get on the machines. I really enjoy working out at the Y.

Missing out all these years! I have 2 kids and this was everything we've been missing all these years for our family! Great gym, fitness classes, pool to cool off in summer, parent night out, endless classes for kids, childcare, youth sports, awesome staff and more at such a great price! Everything you need to support your family's happiness and fitness! πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Haven't been a fan of this place since I was sat down by the director Heidi and lectured that my daughter talks about God too much and it is offending one of the Atheist parents - who hates Christians and is also a volleyball coach there at the YMCA. Does the "C" in YMCA still stand for Christian? No, I don't think so.

The management of this YMCA sent staff members to our complex promising water aerobics instruction in our pool, saying it would not cost residents if we joined using Silver Sneakers. Then weeks later they notified our complex that they would need to pay for two lifeguards ($100. per class) plus $50. per class for the instructor.
Obviously leaders and staff are not communicating. I am very disappointed in this Y and its deception. I have withdrawn my membership.

Gym is ok. DO not recommend the sports program. There are others that are similar priced or lower that actually hold to their values and allow an uplifting fun environment for kids. Save your money and time and invest elsewhere.

I'm getting absolutely frustrated with this gym. I have a membership where I can go to any Y in the valley and this particular gym is always changing something Causing it to be inconvenient for others. Zumba is at 0800 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and they have changed the kids hours two to three times this year alone. What is the point of having a gym gym membership here if we can't go because they don't provide daycare during hours customers need? They don't communicate these changes until you get there which leaves you w no plan ahead for the change.smh gas is too expensive to be driving and told you no longer have someone to watch your kid while you workout. The only reason I attend this location is for Mari. Otherwise it's trash and so is the customer service

I am from out of state and my membership was not ringing up. The gal at the front desk was awesome and found me in the system and explained what may have happened in a way that I am able to go to my other YMCA and get it fixed - meanwhile allowing me to attend. Great customer service that was greatly appreciated.

We came for the free safety swim lessons they offered. I found the parent tot class to be really fun for my 15 month old and informative for me - Kylee is really knowledgeable and friendly. The desk staff are hit or miss- Roberta is awesome! Pretty expensive joining and membership, so I decided not to join after our free lessons were up. Minus another star for their website frequently being down.

Thanks to all of you who posted reviews. What's going on at this facility????? I'm in town visiting and wanted to go to a local Y. I looked at thier hours and the reviews and thought, "Really, are you kidding"? I want a response from the owner. Why have you not responded to the posted complaints???? Do you not care???? Not responding makes you look even worse.

I signed my family up here for $50 initiation fee plus $85/month. Within one week I realized this facility would not meet my needs. The free weight area is very small and lacks several pieces of equipment that are very customary to most gyms. In addition, the equipment they do have, including dumbbells, there is only one of. Which means if someone is using a pair of dumbbells or bench press, you have to wait. Not a huge deal by itself, but frustrating when considering the limited equipment. Also, a few of the dumbbells have gripping that is loose so it's uncomfortable to grip, and a couple sets of dumbbells are have considerably different handles, just another weird thing that makes it feel like a low quality setup. Lastly, when I asked to cancel after only one week, not asking for a refund of the $135 I already paid, but simply asking not to be charged another $85 the following month since I was only one week in, I was told I had to discuss my request with the manager, who apparently only works 10-5, which is when I'm already at work. After calls and voicemails over a two day period, I finally hear back via email and am told I need to fill out a form they have at the facility... also would have been nice to had been told when I asked on site. Ultimately, this manager decided to waive that 30 day clause for me, but the entire process and communication was just very cold and not at all what I would expect from an organization like the YMCA. I still believe I. The organization, but definitely would not recommend anyone support this particular location until the management is changed, process is updated, and better customer service techniques are included in their training materials and expectations of employees.

The night staff is rude, the kids club was closed early, we had to wait for someone to come back. The front desk guy ignored me for the longest time hoping I would leave I’m guessing. The teen room was stinky and had nothing for the teens to really do. It was just mostly a semi empty room. The workout area upstairs has no flow and is over crowded with big equipment but even then seems to be lacking some essential things. The kids care didn’t have any real activities other than occasional crafts. Over all I would not recommend getting a membership here. It is not kept or cleaned well. And pretty much sucks witch is a huge disappointment because it’s such a nice and big building. The website pictures are very misleading.

Ross Farnsworth is a great facility if you are single, elderly or can work around their crazy hours. I tried using their childwatch facility but the kids that worked for them have no experience with children. They want to sit on chairs and engage their coworkers not the children. The cardio area half the machines are out of service. The weight area is unattended so people abuse the equipment due to lack of instruction on use. One young man there is incredible, his name is Steve. He is the best person in that facility. He will be the only person we miss. I truly hope he goes far in life. Avoid this facility at all cost. There are too many options here to settle for meridiocracy.

Nothing wrong with the gym except it only has one benchpress bench and is much too hot. It is at least 5 degrees hotter than the other ymca's in the valley. It isn't just the second floor either. Not sure if their thermostat doesn't work, someone in management is too cheap, or the front doors let in too much hot air.

This club is a rip off they took $85 from us after we had signed up and wanted to cancel the next day because when we got home found out the kids club did not fit our needs.

One of there employees even claimed to be the manager and later we found out he was not but gave us a refund slip.

A couple days later we get contacted from the membership manager Angela with a huge email with legal jargon stating she won't honor what her employees signed. Obviously some operations issues that need to be addressed. WATCH OUT!!!

I joined so that my children could get swim lessons ($160 for 8 semi-private lessons for 2 kids) and access to the pool ($70 monthly membership fee). For the second year in a row, I have had difficulty getting a competent instructor. I was billed for the lessons in April. Times have been scheduled and the instructor doesn't show up. The first two lessons in May were no shows by the instructor. I have attempted to speak with management regarding the issue. The Director of Aquatics, Lee Miller, did not return my phone calls. I had to go to the facility to speak with him (June 1). Once I explained the issue, he told me he would get approval from his supervisor and that a credit would be applied to my credit card. By the end of July, still no refund. I called on July 28, August 6 and August 10 and got voicemail. No one has returned my calls. Customer services is horrific.

Mostly a waste of time! Even though I'm only paying $13/mo with my Medicare plan I've seen better places advertised for just $10/mo. I started going there to lose weight but there doesn't seem to be any way to do that. I got a tour of the place initially but since then I've just been on my own and not sure what to do. I tried going through all the workout machines and I can do more reps now than when I started but it just makes me hungry so I've actually gained weight since I started going there! It has what looks like new, modern equipment but the pool seems to be closed most of the time when I'd like to use it like in the afternoons. The hot tub has always been broken and I've never seen a time when the rock climbing wall was ever open. On the plus side it's neat and clean and not too crowded but that might be because there really isn't much there to do that's of any value. I stopped going because it's a ways to drive and mostly a waste of time.
