I'd like to start off by saying that Ryder Fitness is an excellent personal training studio.

Being an older athlete with age related wear and tear I really wasn't sure how my body would react to starting weight training again after many years out of a gym. I really wanted and needed to get back in a gym, I was starting to feel the lack of strength in my all daily activities. I knew at this stage of the game I definitely lacked the motivation to regularly go to a gym and workout on my own. Ryder Fitness and Johnny Ryder was the perfect solution. Private, one on one, scheduled workouts, clean facility and an excellent, motivating trainer.

I've been working out at Ryder Fitness with Johnny Ryder for a year and a half now. Johnny is knowledgeable, motivating, pays attention to clients individual needs and formulates a workout program geared to your goals while also paying attention to your physical well-being.

Since working out with Johnny at Ryder Fitness, my muscle strength has definitely improved exponentially! I'm much stronger, less aches and pains and feel better overall!

John Ryder is my fitness coach. He has made it possible for me to workout even with my bilateral knee replacements. Every session is a full body workout!

Don’t think you’re too old to meet your fitness goals. John will get you on the path to a healthier you. Isn’t that what we all want?

John offers one-on-one instruction and there is never more that one or two other people working out at a time.

Are you into yoga? Arlyss, another fitness instructor, also offers a yoga session on Fridays. As well, Arlyss is a certified masseuse. He offers different types of therapies that soothe sore aching muscles.

We love Ryder Fitness! My teen son gets strength training from Coach Ryder for his personal fitness goals. Johnny is very personable and easy to talk to. The equipment is clean, great quality, and in great shape. The other trainers are very nice also, and we love the InBody scans that show your progress a scientific way. For what you get, which is one-on-one coaching from a highly qualified and knowledgeable instructor, it’s very reasonably priced. Can’t think of any drawbacks, we love this place!

Johnny Ryder's Medical Fitness program has been an integral part of my new years resolution to improve my fitness. For years I've had a fitness goal that usually is abandoned by the end of January. This year I signed up for 24 sessions, and I go once a week. After an initial assessment, I was put on a program that always includes strength training for all muscle groups, with aerobic training added. There never is a wait for open equipment, and Johnny records all weights and repetitions over time. I supplement my weekly training with visits to a local gym near my home, and the weekly visit to Ryder's Gym has motivated me to be more diligent with regard to my supplemental training. For a long time I paid the monthly gym fee without actually going to the gym, and now I have the motivation to do so on a regular basis. It has been a big win and I feel changes in my strength and fitness! This routine definitely works for me.

I signed up for an 8 pack, but due to living in Florida(visiting for the holiday), I could sadly only go for 5 days. I'm part of my weightlifting team back home, and I wanted to learn ways of strengthening my minor/major muscles efficiently rather than depending on doing the lifts themselves to get stronger. Mr. Ryder was extremely patient with me, as I've never had the chance to work with actual equipment before(usually I'm limited to a weight set.) I came to him to learn, and I did just that. In between learning new workouts, new breathing methods, and learning more about myself, my entire experience with him was extremely positive and motivating. As someone who wants to go into his field of work, he is definitely a positive example of who a fitness trainer is, someone who is patient, motivating, observant, and strongly cares about how is client is doing, and getting them through some tough sets. Although I was told I'm younger than the usual clientele, I strongly recommend him, regardless of if you are a teenage athlete, or a senior that wishes to keep their health up.

Signed up for 16 weeks with Johnny. (couch to gym for me 🫠) Ive had three sessions so far and i have to say- wow! Not only is Johnny extremely patient, he is friendly and really gets to know his clients. He knows exactly how far to "push" me without risk of injury and i REALLY appreciate that! He's always checking in throughout the workouts to make sure Im not feeling pain or dizziness - something that at 42 years old I value. The facility is extremely clean and equipment is well kept. They keep their training sessions personal so you are not working out with a room full of other members. 5 stars on hygiene alone! I really cant say enough about the place. Highly recommended Ryder for your personal fitness goals.

I have been a customer for 2 years now. He keeps on investing on his studio: buys more equipment and recently expanded. His equipment is top quality and he maintains it well. I go there for chronic conditions caused by my job. When I am out of town, I have to use daily passes at other gyms. His equipment is so much better from what I have seen. His knows his stuff well, within minutes he knows what needs to be done for the day.

I need to add that the place is very clean. I was just out of town and had to use a daily pass with a main stream fitness company and it just hit me how cleaner Ryder-Fitness is. I am not just talking about the equipment itself but about the rooms and the office.

Since I started this review, he added another piece of equipment that also focus on my ongoing physical re-education / maintenance. This is an hip thrust and inner outer thighs machine. It helps with mitigating the damages that get done to your hips and outer thighs when you job requires you to be sited for many hours. I have not noticed such equipment at other big chains gyms around Phoenix.

Thank you Mr. Ryder for all the investments in your gym and in providing this area with something unique.

What is the definition of a personal trailer you ask? A trainer is an individual who has earned a certification that demonstrates they have achieved a level of competency for creating and delivering safe and effective exercise programs for healthy individuals and groups or those with medical clearance to exercise.

My experience with Ryder Fitness has been nothing short of amazing. From the moment I reached out to them on Facebook. It took less than ten minutes to receive a response from the owner Johnny. He was so informative. When he messaged me back, he let me know he was fully booked at the time and wasn't able to train with me. At first I was so bummed, but I knew it was good for him and the business. In my opinion it had to be a good sign I was signing up for a gym membership that had trainers fully booked. Since he was booked, he was able to give my contact information to another trainer at his facility. Within minutes I was contacted by my now personal trainer Cassie B. When she reached out to me and set up a consultation appointment for the same week. Talk about a great experience and nothing short of amazing customer service. I love my new gym and my gym family. The gym is always clean and the staff is always friendly, professional and welcomes everyone in with a smile. You never feel like you don't belong. I love the one on one training experience.There's no other gym like Ryder Fitness on the mountain, they are one of a kind. Five stars all the way around.

My trainer Cassie is absolutely amazing. She greets me by name. She always makes me feel welcome. She always wears a smile and has a positive attitude. She makes me feel comfortable and ready to put in some hard work.She is more of a sister than my personal trainer. She is always so encouraging, pushes me to be the best version of myself and do my best.Whenever I feel like giving up or feel like I can't continue, she is always by my side pushing me. She is my number one cheerleader. She checks in on me often to see how I'm doing and feeling. She makes sure that I am staying accountable and on track with my diet and at home exercises. Cassie never gives me less than 100%. Cassie is consistent with her training, she always explains her thought process of why we're doing what we're doing, the movement of the exercise and what area we are working on. Cassie is a caring individual that wants to see her clients succeed and be the best version of themselves. She is always encouraging me and super patient with my wants and needs. She is caring and works with me and all my injuries. She takes the time to listen to what I have to say. She is always making up new routines to improvise and help me improve on my weaknesses and injuries. She is always working hard to make me and my body stronger. My daughter needed help training for her Wildland fire fitness test. She was struggling with the required amount of weight to carry and finishing within alloted time. She had 6 weeks. In 6 weeks, John worked with her twice a week and today, she achieved her goal, passed the test and is a qualified firefighter! I began my training to try and stay fit during Covid-19. The owner made us feel safe and secure by only having one person in the building at a time, wearing a mask, taking our temperatures when we walk in the door and wiping all the machines down that are used after each session. Johnny is an excellent trainer and even though I'm a senior citizen pushes me to the next level even when I think I can't do it. However saying that, he truly watches out for problem areas and makes sure that he doesn't push you to pain. I"ve felt much better since going there and even have done some exercises at home that I usually wouldn't do. I highly recommend that you check this place and trainer out if you are thinking about toning up.

Have been working out with Johnny and my sister for about 5 weeks now. Was pretty cynical about getting in better shape at my age (60). While this is not a quick fix I am seeing progress. I am stronger and look forward to my workouts! Love how Johnny mixes up our exercises... If you find yourself in a exercise slump and nothing is working. John works with you and fits a plan to what you can do, around injuries you may have etc. It is a great setting, and there are no concerns about others in the gym judging you.
