A great place for kids to play basketball and other sports. We go on a regular basis to watch our granddaughters play basketball.
They have bleacher seating to watch the games. However, there is not enough seating in the.middle for teams to sit while waiting for their next game.
It is a little pricer per person to get in at $10 a person.
But they may need to charge that to help cover costs.
They have a nice snack bar with water and sports drinks and some food.

Fantastic staff! My kids go there for everything. The place is very clean. Lots of options for indoor sports. My kids not only play in leagues there, they take sports classes. Great little snack bar, too! You'll even see many Arizona alumni both playing and teaching kids. Highly recommended for any family.

The parking is absolutely inadequate for tournaments here and then the staff will lecture you about proper street parking as if it’s your fault. While trying to figure out the scoreboards for a volleyball tournament, the manager acted really put out that we didn’t understand how to use a basketball scoreboard for volleyball. The women’s bathrooms always have an insanely long line, which is hard for players between games. The seating for fans is inadequate.

Positives are that the facility is generally clean and the teenage staff is very kind. There is food available for purchase (but they’ll murder one of your players if they’re caught with an outside protein bar, like most facilities). The courts have more space around them than many local facilities.

Overall, I don’t mind playing here, but I wish they’d figure out the parking and seating.

Nice facility. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is they booked multiple young girls' volleyball games without sufficient seating for the families to support their kids.

We partner with Sporting Chance on facilities management, and we are so happy to be able to support this wonderful venue! Amazing people, who really care about the kids and providing a safe space for them to enjoy some activity! Smiling faces every time I stop in.

Very nice sports center. Today, they had six separate basketball courts playing simultaneously.
They kept the inside temperature nice and cool.
But it was a bit expensive at $10 per person for a kids' game.

Experienced 2 volleyball tournaments here. It is a very nice facility with a good amount of parking. Food, snacks, and drinks are available and priced reasonably. Seating with tables is limited. And seating on the courts is available by either bleacher or folding chairs. Bathrooms are available, but long waits are possible when it gets busy.

For Special Olympics basketball tournament. Tom was rude to disabled players. The place was jam packed from 9:30 am to 12 pm. Doors were being opened and closed throughout the whole time and Tom would not approach the crowd to go kick people out. Until crowd was gone after 1:30 pm. He then kicked a person out from watching his son play a special Olympics basketball tournament. Giving no explanation. Tim didn’t kick anyone else out who that door had been opened by. Tom is very rude and prejudice. Tom doesn’t belong as general manager when basketball players come from all Ethnicity.

The parking is terrible and it's $15 per person just to walk in the door. The facilities are over-crowded and they've restricted the teams from a lot of the team building things that, at one time, was the only reason we enjoyed going. The staff were nice enough, they're just following the rules.

Let the teams set up their "camps" outside, it was great fun for the teams and families and caused no harm.

I want to share my recent experience at Sporting Chance, which left me and my family feeling deeply uncomfortable. We were there to watch my sister play basketball, but things quickly took a bad turn. My father, who was with us, was asked to move by an employee named Logan in an unnecessarily aggressive manner. There were no chairs available, which is why we were sitting where we were. Despite my father saying he would move, Logan continued to stand in front of him in a confrontational way.

When we asked to speak to a manager, the situation got even worse. The manager was aggressive as well and ended up calling the police. Shockingly, when describing my father, they referred to him as a β€œHispanic with tattoos,” which felt racially motivated. This made an already tense situation even more upsetting for us. Instead of handling the matter respectfully, they escalated it in front of everyone, causing a scene that was completely unnecessary.

The way this was handled was not only unprofessional, but it also set a terrible example for the kids there. It would have been more appropriate to ask us to move during halftime, rather than in the middle of the game in such a confrontational way.

Upon looking at other reviews, I noticed that Tom, another employee, has also been called out for saying hurtful things to others. Sporting Chance should seriously reconsider how it treats its patrons and ensure that those running the establishment care about the kids and families attending.

The manager kicked Joey (a father of one of the basketball players) out of Sporting Chance today for saying a cuss word. He was rightfully upset. There were no seats left and he was on the side with his son and asked to move. He and his son moved but the security guard (Logan) was being overly aggressive. We all know Joey and his family. Joey is always respectful and kind to all of the kids. The reason he didn’t have a seat was because he gave up his so a lady could sit down. Tom the manager called the police and made Joey leave and thats just not right. Looked like racial profiling to me. Not a very good reflection on Sporting Chance Something needs to change. Fast.

I witnessed an upsetting chain of events at this venue today. I was at a girls basketball tournament in which a young man was treated very badly by a security guard. Then I saw a young girl who was in one of the teams accosted by the manager, who was identified as Tom. He spoke to the child in a very threatening way. I have read the other reviews on this site that indicate there have been numerous problems for quite a while. This is a place where young people and their families come to enjoy the games that are played here. It is also important to note that there is a fee charged to participate in and attend the events. It’s time for the leadership at Southern Arizona Community Sports Inc. and the Pima County governing board to examine the numerous complaints about Tom and security staff to make some overdue changes!

The owner "manager" and assistant whoever takes complaints said doesnt matter if the opposite teams coach yells at the kid on the team no point to get mad because the kids aren't going to the NBA or championship so if they can believe in the future of the kids there is no need to support or sponsor them. The manager even was pushing a minor then had the nerve to call the cops on the parents speaking out. Not a place to have children inspiring to be NBA basketball player. They should get 0 stars

They left us a phone call stating they have space to rent a court and they would work with our mens basketball team and then when I called back all of the sudden they only work with kids and there's no possible way to put a practice on once a week for a couple hours.

Makes sense.

We will find a home court elsewhere.

The worst sporting complex I have ever attended, they have little to no refs. When they don't have any refs they allow players from the opposite team to call the game, and make biased ref calls. They have the dumbest, no food/no drink policy. Where you are unable to bring your own food and they are forcing you to buy their atrocious food which is disgusting.

Bathrooms stink since we got here at 8 am. Staff doesn't let you brink drinks cause they loose money if you don't buy from there. People taking space and not letting seat others that actually needed like me with a broken shoulder. The staff should be focusing on other things and I bet you they would make more money that way. I took my family out to eat else where.

There’s an old man on staff here who got aggressive with multiple young girls at a volleyball tournament today. His behavior was unwarranted and completely unacceptable. He asked me to move my chair off the concrete outside which I did immediately and after he continued to chirp at me I asked him to please stop talking to me like I’m stupid and his response was β€œthen don’t act like it.” Disgusting behavior from a grown man to a 19 year old girl. He was confronted by another man and was told that he was being aggressive and speaking to people in a demeaning manner.

We've been watching our grandchildren play basketball all season. After each game, the kids will receive a drink and a snack from one of the parents. This has never been an issue. Tonight, the General Manager, Tom Carie approached me and threatened to have me thrown out because I had the snacks my youngest granddaughter had just received. I had two other grandchildren that still had games to play and could not leave them.
He continued to threaten me and say there is a very strict policy and there would be no further discussion. I refused to give up my granddaughter's well-earned snacks and did concede that they would not be opened. He then proceeded to stare my family down for the rest of my second grandchild's game with another employee.

On our way out, I saw him doing the exact same thing to another parent.

Terrible GM and what a bad example to his employees! Thank goodness it was the last game of the season! I am researching who he reports to so I can file a formal complaint.

For our team they always shut the lights off 5 min before the scheduled end time that we paid for. But this doesn’t happen to other teams. There have been more than one occasion where other teams have been allowed to enter the court 10 min before our scheduled end time and nothing is said to them. Fair warning. My 14yo daughter went in to a practice there today. I was about 1 min behind her. I have a medical exemption for a mask. They would not let me enter, not even to go find and tell my daughter I wasn't allowed in.

So I drove 35min round trip, got a face shield from home, and returned. I was again denied entry, as ONLY masks are allowed. The best they would do was go find her and tell her I was waiting outside for her.

I find it extremely sad that an abundance of fear wouldn't even allow me to tell my daughter not to look for me, because I'm not allowed in.

Although the manager appears to have never spent a day in the gym in his life, I'll give this facility 2* because from what I could tell, the facility looked nice.

The other reviews are correct. The manager IS very rude and is very mask militant. Their bleachers have blue tape where you can't sit and blue tape is almost EVERYWHERE! With COVID, I get that everyone is trying their best. Bet that should come with a certain sense of reasonableness. Sporting Chance has significantly missed the mark. NYS basketball is held there this season, and they're limiting one parent per kid allowed to watch their kids games. Absurd. At a time like this, kids need their parents... and guess what, if you allow one parent in, the same level of exposure is there if you let both parents in... they're both exposed to each other day in and day out, this carry the same contagions... do yourselves a favor, and be reasonable with your policies. 1 parent and no siblings is absurd.

Staff has always been nice to me, I had a question about whether their open gym was goin to be open and they called me back quickly.

As an adult the charge of a couple bucks is super cheap to get a workout inside in the AC, and it is even cheaper for kids. it costs money to run the place so I always have been happy to pay their low prices to support them and will continue to when they can open up more, I hope covid settles down because this is the best public bball gym in Tucson in the summer.

V-Ball coaches are amazing and the staff is always friendly and really try to keep the place clean and organized. The facility itself is beautiful. The problem is that they have no control over the many kids constantly playing basketball in the lobby. Dribbling, throwing the balls in the air, etc. - all with limited control. After speaking with the manager, I would tend to put this more on the parents not controlling their kids, rather than on management. However, it is an issue. Perhaps, we could put signs up or have the coaches remind the kids to keep the balls on the court.

Disgrace to the tucson sports community. Have had multiple altercations with the tyrant of a manager, Tom. The only rules that seem to apply are the ones which accommodate him at that time. The place is a money grab and no consideration is given for the safety of the children, only lining their pockets. Tom's brother sits on the board of directors which makes him untouchable, regardless the level of inappropriateness he exercises.

This place is a mess of mismanagement to the point the they need to charge parents a cover to watch their kids play. All that and they don't have towels in the bathroom so your only option for drying your hands blowing feces on them with the dryer or your hands. Least comfortable place to hoop in the city & run by unapologetic trash. Dead floors.

I absolutely love this place! So many things to do and the club programs are amazing! I really hope I can coach or do something to help people there. That would be amazing and so wonderful to be a part of.
