I had persistent lower back and shoulder pain and regular physical therapy actually made it worse. I did about 7 sessions with Sunanda and have kept doing her exercises everyday since. I have almost total mobility in me shoulder and can now to strenuous yoga classes again without lower back pain. She is a gem.

Always Present!
I first heard about Sununda from my partner who gave her glowing reviews - saying that it was nothing like a massage nor a yoga session but that his shoulder felt so much better after one visit. I acquiesced and made an appointment at his urging saying to him as he dropped me off at her studio “what one does for love”. Never did I think that my constant knee pain caused from frayed meniscus on both knees (not bad enough to operate) would be so alleviated that I am able to enjoy weekly tennis lessons.
This was about a year ago and every time I am in Tucson I seek her out. Sununda is always able to locate the source of the pain and then carefully explains the interconnectivity of the muscles. One leaves each session with practical tips and exercises for those weeks that I am out of town. What a great way to connect mind, body and well-being!

Sunanda is an amazing body worker. She has developed her own eclectic combination of many techniques to create a system that really works. Her understanding of how the body works and what to do about it has helped me with everything from headaches, to fatigue, to nephropathy, giving me a heightened body awareness and sense of strength and well being. I had difficulty getting up out of chair and getting up and down off the floor so I made an appointment to see Sunanda. We discussed a number of injuries in my past. She performed a number of structural and strength tests. Through the process of in-depth knowledge and intuition, she was able to locate an injury in my knee that I had as a teenage that I never even mentioned to her. It became a focal point of a very dramatic change which allowed my hips to become loose once again and pain free permanently.

I had been suffering from distracting and debilitating heal pain for over a year. I visited a physician and tried three months of physical therapy with almost no improvement. I visited a couple podiatrists who diagnosed me with “tarsal tunnel syndrome” and recommended trying orthotic insoles; when those didn’t work I was told would need surgery. A tiny bit of research informed me that most patients don’t get relief after tarsal tunnel release surgery – so no thank you on that. I had been attending Sunanda’s yoga classes through this process, and the heal pain had gotten so bad that I couldn’t do several standing poses. When I told Sunanda of my issues and wanting to avoid surgery, she did a very quick check of my legs and hips after class and said the problem was far more likely in my piriformis, or deeper muscles in my hip. She treated me only 4 times, and I was vigilant about doing the customized therapy exercises she prepared for me after every lesson. The heel pain totally resolved within couple months, and I have been without this pain for over two years now. Since then she has also helped me with chronic neck pain and shoulder muscle issues. I know now to save myself the years of pain and expensive medical industry costs and see her first. I can’t recommend Sunanda enough for any physical body issues.

Amazing! After every session that is what I think about Sunanda, she is amazing. Her intuition, coupled with her yoga therapy and NeuroKinetic Therapy training allows her to hone in on areas of your body that are out of balance.
Having been diagnosed with a prolapsing uterus I went through physical therapy. Sunanda has helped me to integrate what I learned into daily living, along with continuing to strengthen muscles I have always used incorrectly. I have been working with Sunanda one-on-one for several years now. Our practice includes somatic movements that have taught me how to isolate muscle groups and learn how it feels to use them properly. Learning to release my diaphragm and engage my whole abdomen doing breathing exercises have helped also.
A side benefit has been relief of lower back pain I have lived with most of my life. It’s amazing how a stronger core (including, pelvic floor and abdominal muscles) can alleviate discomfort in your entire body!

I went to see Sunanda for a chronic pain issue. After every session, I left her office feeling better than when I walked in and after only two sessions I was completely pain free. Her work is impressive and highly effective. I highly recommend Sunanda.
