Fully equipped gym with focused trainer. As one who dislikes they typical gym energy, this small but mighty gym and trainer are perfect.. I receive one on one training in a small group setting that is designed for my specific needs and goals. The environment is clean and safe. I just started at UF in mid-July because I wanted to lose weight and start working out again. I didn’t want to go to the same gym I had gone to for 5 years because I wasn’t seeing any results and I got bored with cardio workouts. Besides, I’m 58 and cardio doesn’t make you lose weight. UF offered personal training and weekly meetings with a dietitian. At $2,700, I I thought it was too expensive, but it’s in line with any type of personal training and it includes nutrition, so I bit the bullet. I look forward to my workout sessions and I’ve lost about 8 pounds. I’ve also learned a lot about proper nutrition and am eating a more healthy diet. (No more Lucky Charms.) If you’re stuck and frustrated with your weight, give this a shot .

She listens to your requests and will exclude or include whatever you want into the workouts. I do full-body workouts 2 days/week and am the perfect amount of soreness after, just enough to feel like I worked out. This is an an amazing boutique gym, without the boutique prices or pretense. The gym environment has diverse members, at all different fitness levels. Everyone is there to improve their fitness, so it has a very motivating vibe. Ron is an excellent, knowledgeable trainer who knows how to customize a workout to your individual needs. I wanted more individual than a group class but not as much as a 1:1…Underground Fitness has been the perfect fit. I was in low/medium shape and stuck in a rut of letting everything else take priority over my health.

You start with a personal consultation where they learn your goals and recommend a plan accordingly. I decided to sign up for 3x a week workouts and 1x a week with their nutritionist, Christina. I paid for the 10-week plan – you can either equip yourself to then go train on your own or to stick with Underground.

You never train with more than 4 people at a time and it is a completely individualized plan. There is variety of learning new exercises while also consistently doing fundamentals. I have all the help I need from a very skilled trainer (shoutout to Ron) but have other people I’m working out with and not over scrutinized (what I didn’t like about a 1:1). I’ve also stuck to my plan because I feel accountable to show up for my scheduled time.

I’ve learned so much from Ron’s demos & explaining the “why” to avoid injury and build strength. He goes above and beyond – when I had sore muscles by my shin he helped with stretches and easy massage I did to get those muscles back to work. Christina (nutrition) was also well worth the investment – she is GOOD. Your health is worth your time, investment, and a good place to help you.

Roxanne is professional, technical and detailed with showing me the exercises and flexible with scheduling. With this not being my first experience with personal training, I have to say, this place lives up to their good reviews. Ron in intake is caring and thorough. Christina in Nutrition is knowledgeable and very clear giving instructions on diet. Gavino my trainer is Awesome! He is great at putting together the perfect routine. He pushes, but asks if the weights are too heavy or not heavy enough. He pushes but gives you room. He pays attention your form and makes sure your doing things correctly as to not injure yourself. Tripp another trainer is also good. I do not have as much experience with him, but he is instructive and considerate. I can't say enough good things about this team. Great job everyone!

This was the first time I stepped into a gym in nearly 20 years which can be intimidating. I’ve struggled keeping myself accountable and actually staying on workout plan for awhile now (which I’m sure many ppl can relate). This gym is awesome! I first met with Ron for a consult. I was 9 months post coronary bypass and needed to gain some strength and flexibility, he assured me my training sessions would be safe. I met with my personal trainer Roxanne next. I can’t say enough good things about Roxanne, she is fantastic! My sessions focused on my health and fitness. She started slow and made sure my heart rate was at target and not too fast. She keeps the sessions interesting and fun, I actually look forward to going which is a very new experience for me. I have joined several gyms over the years and several had personal trainers but at UGF I feel like I have found a home gym finally. Next came sessions with Adrianna a nutrition life coach. I knew I needed to do something different, but couldn't pull it off. It wasnt just something I thought would be good for me - I really needed to make some changes. Before I started at Underground Fitness I was having some health problems, swelling in ankles, first time ever cholesteral levels were off, couldnt get weight off. I was continually frustrated as I have always considered myself to be in pretty good shape, and have always eaten pretty well. I had also been out of the gym for over a year like everyone else because of COVID and missed feeling strong and energized. I kept glancing over at Underground Fitness when I would drive or walk by their bulding wondering if someone in there could help me out. Finally one day I decided to go in and ask what they were all about.

Underground Fitness was the life change I didnt know I could make. Working with Ron on shifting how I eat, schedule my life, and prioritizing my health before other aspects of my life has made all the difference. And then add in completely personalized workouts with Matt in a safe and clean environment. I have had some injuries along the way they both have gone above and beyond to make sure I have the support I need to reach my goals and then some.

Staying on target with water, protein intake, sleep, and healthier portions of food has resulted in steady weight loss and more energy. I have lost almost twenty pounds in the last three months (and am still losing) - a steady decrease despite not being in the gym for a good chunk of that. My cholesteral, glucose, and other vitals are all in line again. No more swelling in my legs. I find that I think about food differently and the way that I am eating is not a stretch - I still love to cook and am able to make pretty much any kind of food that I feel like eating. I am walking more and moving more during the day - I feel better. I am learning how to work out and strengthen myself without triggering old injuries (wasnt able to do that with my workouts before). All of the changes I have made are a way of living that works and that I can sustain.

The bottom line is I feel better. The payoff of investing in myself and my health has been growth in my mental, physical, and emotional health far beyond what I hoped for when I first walked in their door. They care, they listen, they have worked with me through all my injuries - they have helped me change the way I live my life.

I am 59 years old and needed to get back in shape. Just a few years ago, I completed the Summit to Summit challenge in Phoenix. When I started with Underground Fitness in November, 2020, I don't think I could have climbed one hill, let alone a mountain.

I have used trainers in the past. But it had been a few years. I have not been able to create my own workout plans or truly stay on my diet. I wasn't able to workout and be accountable for myself, by myself.

As a result, because I watched my calorie intake, my weight had remained about the same for the past several years. But any muscle gains I had with my prior workouts and training had long since been lost. My weight was the same, but the lost muscle weight had been replaced by huge fat gains from a sedentary lifestyle. My waist continued to grow. 7 years ago, my BMI was about 13%. When I started with Underground Fitness in November, 2020, it was over 30%.

I needed to change. I needed to find someone that could create the necessary workout and diet plans. I needed someone to hold me accountable.

I have used trainers in the past, but my current schedule would not allow for me to go to their facility 3 times a week. I needed a workout and diet plan that would be workable within my schedule. I was fortunate to find Underground Fitness. With the help of my trainer, Shane, the changes I have made the past 12 weeks have been amazing.

Shane got my diet on track... really easy with a readily available app on my phone and just staying on it. Shane then created a workout that works with my schedule. I do resistance training 3 days a week for no more than 40 minutes. Two of the sessions are at home with the equipment I have available combined with bodyweight exercises. The 3rd session is every Saturday at their facility.

With those Saturday workouts, Shane goes through what worked and didn't work for the week, and we plan the following week.

I just completed my 16th week. Where most people are concerned with weight loss, that was never my goal. I knew if I ate correctly and worked out, I would put on muscle. I knew that in putting on muscle, my metabolism would increase and the fat would bleed off. What I didn't expect were the crazy changes in my body shape.

At 59, I was not expecting to "bulk up." But I am getting defined musculature. In 12 weeks, I only "lost" 7 pounds. But, I also lost almost 3 inches in my waist and have had to alter or buy clothes. My current waist is what I had in high school.

I am no longer fatigued during a workout. I don't get the afternoon blues. Working out is hard, but fun again. And, although my body doesn't recover like it did 20, or even 10 years ago, we have continued to adjust my workouts to work around any problems or issues that have come up.

Underground Fitness developed the workout and diet plan that I needed. My trainer has worked with me to identify personal goals and develop a plan to get there. And, with my weekly accountability session, I am hitting those goals.

There may be other trainers or facilities out there, but I can vouch for Underground Fitness. They have exceeded my expectations.

I joined Underground Fitness in the beginning of October 2020 to lose weight and get toned again. My trainer has been Kelsey and Ron has provided me with weekly nutritional guidance. I started the program at 221 pounds. After two months of working with them, I'm done to 201 pounds. The exercises are challenging, but not overwhelming. Kelsey has done a fantastic job of constantly changing my exercise routine; I new do the same sets of exercises day-to-day. I'm amazed how fast my one hour sessions go. Kelsey keeps me engaged during it session that, before I know it, the hour is up. Ron has done a remarkable job of guiding my nutritional habits. I've been so pleased with them that I signed up for another two months to keep my momentum going.

When I first started, Ron spent a good hour with me discussing my fitness goals, medical history, and past workout history. From there he was able to extrapolate a general outline that Kelsey has used to create my daily workout routines.

As they're told me, it took a long time to gain the weight, and so it takes time to lose the weight. I've pretty much averaged loosing two to three pounds each week. I highly recommend Underground Fitness to anyone who are serious about their health and wanting to achieve their fitness goals.

If you are looking for something different then a normal gym with out the "GYM" personalities then this is your place. I have been working with the team at Underground since November 2017 and from the first consultation, with Scott, I knew Underground was going to be different than any other gym I have been to. A lot of gyms make the claim of offering the true support, nutrition and mentoring, that is needed to reach your goals but they all have come up short for me. 5 months, with this awesome team, and I have lost 12 lbs, 5 percent body fat, and several inches. They have helped me truly understand how to fuel my body to get the best results. I could not be happier!

Now to the best trainer there is…Camille. All the trainers here are great but Camille is just amazing. She has taken the time to really understand my goals and push me to reach them. She doesn't take it easy on me and I love that. I train with her a couple of times a week and then she has a really great booty kicking boot camp on Saturdays. Aside from the great training she's also just a really great person. She's got such a great heart and she cares about all of her clients. It's not uncommon for me to get texts from her in the middle of the day telling me she is proud of me or sending me information about how to better hit my macros.

I have been out of the gym for some time and was nervous to start back again, however, the trainers made it a smooth transition by customizing the diet and workouts to meet my schedule and individual needs so that it was do-able yet challenging and results producing. I bought a Groupon last November because I wasn't sure if would like it, but I loved it and have been a client for 9 months. Danielle is a great trainer and very motivating and knowledgeable. I work out in the semi-private training sessions, but still get dedicated attention and support. Not only have I seen an improvement in strength and endurance, but I actually enjoy working out now.

I'm not athletic by any stretch of the imagination, but my trainer, Ron Edwards, pushes me just the right amount outside my comfort zone so that I'm continually challenged, but never discouraged. On top of his great guidance, the entire team is friendly - they really do get to know you by name. My sessions are semi-private (there are several other clients working at the same time), and Ron makes sure he gives everyone just the right amount of one-on-one time without hovering or getting in the way.
