Our 14 year old started when he was 6 and has been working hard on his advancement consistently. As a result, he has made huge progress in his self-discipline, coordination, and leadership. He has gone all the way to 1st Dan Black Belt, competed in many tournaments and learned how to both win and, more importantly, lose with dignity and respect and to take failure as a lesson rather than a state of mind. Our family LOVES Vail Taekwon-Do, the instructors are very patient and friendly. There is no padding on the floor so you have to just understand that and after a week or two, we got comfortable with the cement floors and now it doesn't bother us anymore. Master Lee is strict but not condescending with new students who have a lot to learn. The masters do a fantastic job of walking around and watching EACH student so that everyone gets feedback on specific things to work on to improve. The culture focuses on growth without being too intense.

My kiddo has been taking lessons at VTKD for about 6 months now. This Taekwondo school has been one of the best things for my child since we moved here. She has learned so much not just from Master Lee, but from everyone there. Classes are taught to have discipline and respect with a healthy balance of humor which has gone a long way in helping my ASD child improve her receptive language and communication skills. The more advanced students have been so kind and patient in teaching her things and helping her practice. And she has made friends who pick her as a partner and who genuinely think she is cool even though she’s a little different at times. We moved here from California. My daughter was in a modified ATA Taekwondo school there. We found out about Vail TKD through her elementary school. It was close so we decided to check it out. The instructors and students were very welcoming. The instructiors are very patient and you can tell that they have a passion for teaching the basics and will go out of their way to help everyone achieve their best. Very family oriented, whether the family participates in the class or just watches. The students have a great time, especially during sparring week where they get to use what they have learned with full contact! If it's your birthday, they will all sing you a song while you get to do a traditional activity. It's a secret, so you have to be there on your birthday to find out what it is. Master Lee is very humorous so you can guarantee to hear lots of laughter. The academy is extremely affordable. Probably the best prices in town which leaves room in your pocketbook for private lessons on the weekends or frequent tournaments. If you're considering getting your child or yourself into a martial art, you can't go wrong with Vail Taekwondo Academy.

Great school. Originally enrolled my daughter in Vail TKD to bolster her self confidence, discipline, concentration, and ability defend herself about a year ago. She has improved in all those areas and then some. The staff strikes a perfect balance of fun and hard work that’s challenging but leaves the kids excited to come back again. The pricing is also incredible for what you get when compared other options in the area, (At the current rate my daughter can take classes for 4 entire months, for what another school in the area charges you for their uniform). As your skill level increases, more weekly classes become available at no additional charge. They also offer adults classes and special seminars like women’s self defense. Worth every penny! Very grateful to have this resource here in Rita.

My daughter started taking classes about 3 months ago at Vail TKD with Master Lee. This is a fantastic school. Master Lee is attentive to the needs of his students and does a great job with the students of all ages. My daughter progressed through her first two belt tests and first tournament under the watchful eye of the instructors here. She has gained a great deal of confidence from the class and is taking on new challenges every day. Class rates are very reasonable, class times and location are very convenient as well.

Master Lee is wonderful with kids and adults alike. You will train hard to earn your belt, but at the same time class is fun and enjoyable.
