I want to start by acknowledging that everyone has different communication styles, and that’s completely okay. The instructor—whose name I believe is Nyla, though she didn’t introduce herself—has a very direct, no-nonsense approach. While this style might not be the most encouraging for beginners, those who prefer a straightforward, results-focused class may find it motivating.

The class itself is a solid workout and definitely gets your heart rate up. That said, the title “Twerk Techniques” feels a bit misleading, as the focus seemed to be more on cardio than actual twerk technique. It’s still fun and high-energy, just not quite what I expected based on the name.

The session started about 10 minutes late but did run over by roughly 40 minutes, which may or may not work for everyone’s schedule. Overall, the atmosphere wasn’t the warmest, but if you’re mainly looking for a high-intensity workout and don’t mind a more direct teaching style, this could be a great fit for you.

Nyla is the best instructor for pole classes in the valley! She is a former exotic dancer, so her experience and words of advice helped prepare me for working in the clubs both physically and mentally. I’ve taken her pole classes (from beginner to intermediate and choreography), twerk technique class, chair dance class, lap dance workshop, stripper heels and legs workshop and have also purchased her online strip tease masterclass video series. There is so much to learn from Nyla and I’ve enjoyed every penny I’ve spent on her classes!

Wow where to even begin! I've been going to Violet Flame Studios for two years now and the classes and owner/instructor have truly changed my life.

I started as a pole novice. I wanted to connect with an inner passion to dance and my femininity. Nyla (instructor and owner) has an incredible wealth of knowledge from decades of experience as a performer and pole dancer (#PayStripperstoTeachYouPole) and has in-depth knowledge of the human body as a pilates and nutrition expert.

I have continued my pole journey and thanks to Nyla, I have the tools to build upon each tip and trick I've learned, while also keeping my body safe from injury (she is an expert in physical therapy for pole dancers). I have made great strides (will make more once I have a pole in my own home lol) and look forward to continuing to grow in the art by being a regular at this studio.

Additionally, I take her exotic fitness classes including Twerk, Belly Dance and Naughty Pilates (By the way, her pilates class is a wayyyy better workout than a huge chain reformer pilates studio in the Valley). They are so fun and allow me to connect with my sensuality.

She also has AMAZING workshops that are so unique and teach skills such as chair dancing, flexibility and dancing in pleasers. Additionally, she has a cleanse program that is a great reset. There is also an online studio, where you can purchase courses to follow in the comfort of your own home.

Finally, Nyla not only fosters a safe space for feminine expression, but also a great community. Although she may seem tough at first (she is tough for sure), it is because she truly cares about her students learning and what dance teacher isn't a little tough? Once you chat with her, you find out about her tenacity, how much she cares about her students and her interesting history. Because of the environment she has created, she has attracted incredible students to her studio and it is very special to connect with all of them.

The Instructor is the best dancer I have ever seen! She’s amazing. The best part is she breaks down complicated movements into smaller steps and you practice them during the warm up. So - when she finally stings them together for you, POOF! You’re twerking! Or Shimmying! Or doing a twerking Shimmy! She has a class for everyone, no matter you fitness level or ability. I wasn’t flexible or in shape when I started and now I go to three or four classes a week because it is fun and fitness together, all in one place.

I love love love this studio! i went once for twerk class & fell in love. i’ve gone twice now & i’m hooked. this is a wayyy more intense workout than i expected, and i love how hard you have to work! you will definitely sweat like crazy and love every second! there is such a variety of classes offered, and it’s been super empowering to dance among women, feel sexy, and work my body!

Honestly walking into this beautiful studio and seeing gorgeous women working out on poles was one of the most intimidating experiences I have had in awhile. I thought about running back to my car and never turning back. Then i remembered that I was there to get out of my comfort zone and gain some confidence so I decided to stay and I am glad I did. This was my first time dripping in on a class. I was not sure what to expect! I have attended drop in group classes for Zumba of belly dancing were the other participants were not so friendly and judgemental. The other ladies and instructor Nyla were very encouraging. She even got a soon to be 55 year old mother to join in on the fun! I was challenged and pushed and used muscle I forgot I had. If you are feeling down in a rut go and take this class or classes! I love welcoming, nuturing and empowerment I got from this class. I hope to do more in the future! So thank you Nyla. I am going to be sore in morning but it was worth the experience!

We were there for a bachelorette party. Instead of starting "promptly" at 5:30PM, Tammy started 15-20 mins late. After we started she kept complaining about how her blood sugar was low, went off to eat, use the bathroom and kept texting. Around 6:15PM she told us we needed to wrap-up... We took a pole dancing class as a part of a bachelorette party. Tammy was a wonderful instructor and we had a blast! It was a surprise for the bride to be and she absolutely loved it! A few things to mention- there is no signage on the outside of the building, so look between "Sprouts" and "Water Mart". Secondly, there are only 5 poles, so if you have a larger party, you will be sharing a pole and won't get to learn as many moves. I wish I lived in the area, I would definitively come back.
