My wife and I came here on a day pass while we were staying in Phoenix. We are powerlifters and she was prepping for a competition so we were looking for a facility with proper equipment. We definitely found what we were looking for - this gym boasted lots of combo racks, high quality barbells, calibrated kilo plates, dumbells, and more. We had the space to ourselves and were able to play music on a tablet connected to the sound system which was nice. Access was pretty easy through an app that opens the door. The gym does not have regular staff there so you will need to purchase your membership or day pass ahead of time. If you are in the Phoenix area or just passing through, WSS seems like a surefire bet for any powerlifter.

Visited Wade Strength Systems while in Phoenix for a few days to attend a family funeral by recommendation of my brother/sister in law. This is an awesome powerlifting gym. The facility is clean and the owner/members were super friendly and welcoming. Not busy at all when we were there! They have calibrated kilo plates, modern equipment (including a belt squat machine), all while still maintaining that old-school gym feel. Even though this is a powerlifting-focused gym, there was plenty of equipment for my non-powerlifter wife to get a good workout in as well. 24 hour access makes all the difference to my busy schedule. This gym is clean and put together well. Anyone competing should find a gym like this that houses competition benches, racks, bars, and kilo plates. There are even conversion charts, making the change simple for those used to regular plates. All equipment imaginable seemed to be here- high quality versions, at that. Wade’s keeps lockers, fridges, drinks, and tripods available for convenient use. Our group worked out without the busyness and crowds found in other gyms.

Was in town visiting my brother and came across Wade Strength Systems. Before coming in, I emailed to ask a few questions and almost immediately got a response back. It has everything you need as a powerlifter and is also very clean. Members who were here when I arrived were also very friendly and helped me with anything I needed. Great gym for serious lifters and a host of Powerlifting America meets. Was the only person lifting at 11am on a Saturday. Open 24 hrs to members. 6 racks to squat (3 are combo racks for bench too). I deadlifting platforms. Plenty of calibrated kilo plates. Owner Rodney is super nice and accommodating.

Tried the gym out recently. Giving 5 stars because it’s a powerlifting gym, and they have what I needed to train. But it was dirty, wouldn’t mind if it was cleaner when I came back.

On a trip from Texas , as my wife is competing in the meet they are holding. Out of the 50 pl gyms I’ve been to it stacks up as one of the best. This is the most amazing gym I have ever been to, good condition er racks, comp style carpet, not broken deadlift platform, many weight trees on all sides dl platform, accessory equipment, Ohio power bars, and bench non slip pads. Amazing gym, you can train there almost anytime if you reach out. If I lived in AZ would definitely become a member!

I have been a competitive Powerlifter for the past two years. My boys have asked to go to the gym with me since before I competed. I was able to take my 11 and 8 year old to experience doing a powerlifting work out with me and it was because of Wade Strength Systems. There were a few members there who were awesome with my boys. Awesome facility and wonderful members make this a gym that I will make many return visits (I don’t live close by).

Love love love it here! I've been going a little over a month to the group classes and feel myself getting stronger everyday. The classes are centered around weightlifting and the coaches are awesome at helping you work on your form, isolate your trouble areas and really working to your goals. Perfect for a weightlifting beginner like me. Makes it so easy to have a routine when the workouts are great and the community is so friendly!

I found WSS on the USAPL’s website while searching for a powerlifting gym in or around Phoenix for my last family vacation before graduating high school. I saw that they were a “Silver” gym and knew they’d have everything I’d need. When I got there I was nothing short of amazed, they had plenty of equipment and everything I needed for my Squat-Bench-Deadlift workout. Their ER Combo Racks have bench covers that give them extra grip(way more than any commercial bench could dream of having), they had more than enough calibrated plates. I didn’t have enough time to look everything over but I took a quick look at the other side of their gym and it looks like they have plenty of stuff to accommodate a plethora of lifting styles and disciplines. If/when I come back to Phoenix I will certainly take a trip back up to Glendale to pay WSS another visit.

You can’t find anything better if you are serious about working out, nicely equipped, and feels like a “ home gym “ - members respect and understand when you are getting ready for a serious lift not to disturb the focus. Wade Strength Systems is the best strength / powerlifting gym I could find in the Phoenix area. Just north of Phoenix in Glendale. Unlike some others, they let you get a membership without paying a ton for personal training (though that's available). Everyone I've met there is cool, no vanity like you'll find in box gyms and no weenies like you'll find in Planet Fitness. I'm not even that strong yet but anyone will chat with me about my training. Would definitely recommend this gym for anyone looking for strength training, powerlifting, or group fitness classes.
