The staff is welcoming, the coaching is clear and effective, and the workouts are consistently challenging in a good way.

I started back on a fitness journey after years on the sidelines. I was vulnerable, and out of shape, and at a low point. Each session pushed me, each coach supported me, and the other patrons cheered me on. It felt like so much more than a gym, it was a place, and it was people who helped lift me up, and go more confidently into the world. At the end of the day Cross Fit wasn’t for me, but if you want an environment that pushes you, supports you, and helps you grow- give it a shot. It wasn’t difficult at all to end my membership or anything like that either. I know can be a barrier to trying something.

I am the last person you’d find in a gym. But I needed get healthy so I took a chance on West Little Rock CrossFit. Jeff is one of the best coaches around! He will meet you where you are and help you meet your goals. I lost roughly 30lbs in the first 4 months of working with him. Not only did he support in this process, but he mentored me as a CrossFit coach and taught me how to meet my own athletes where they are. Often coaches don’t receive the same coaching that we provide our athletes, but we also have our own goals. I learned new skills, new progressions, new cues, and lots of new things about myself that will help me continue in my growth as a coach and an athlete. Regardless of your goals or ability level, Jeff can help you accomplish them.

I also thoroughly enjoyed my time in his gym! The rest of his coaches are amazing as well. His athletes and coaches made me feel welcome anytime I was there. This gym is the reason why I had to go to inpatient psychiatric therapy.

The overall experience in the gym seems like a chill cool atmosphere, but once you get settled in that’s when you start to see people’s true colors come out. From the owner being a child hitting and flirting on other women when he’s in a committed relationship, coaches talking behind memebers backs about their performance, the owner scheduling individual appointments with only female members (even though he has a specific coach that is assigned to do this).

Truly, there are good people here they just feed into the negative behavior that some people create and it’s disgusting. You can ask other local CrossFit gyms as well they do not recommend this gym, and there’s a reason why.

I tried to approach some people about the issues I saw but I was given nothing but constant gaslighting and people saying I was blowing it out of proportion, when the women and men who spoke with me acknowledged these same issues and there were no changes made. Not only that but the owner refused to even have a conversation with me about these things.

There are great people I have met here, but my memories will constantly be overshadowed by the childish and immature mindset the two main leadership people in this gym set and it’s sickening to me, and since they don’t want to talk about this like adults yes I will post it on the internet to show that I can’t be silenced.

As a recent collegiate athlete, I struggled with my self identity & how I didn’t see myself as an “athlete” anymore.

At WLRCF, I not only get to be my competitive self- but I also found people who share the same values and principles I’ve always looked for in a team/tribe.
The members genuinely want the best for each other and the coaches are knowledgeable, welcoming, and positive role models in the box.

I am happy to call West Little Rock CrossFit my CrossFit gym for almost 3 years now.

The Too Long Don’t Read/Summary of the below is this place gets 10/10 stars from me.

Longer Version:
One of my favorite aspects of this gym is the excellent coaches. A barrier to entry with newcomers to CrossFit can be intimidation of some of the movements. The coaches here are excellent and can help you scale the various exercises, to have something doable and achieve an excellent workout within the context of your skill and fitness level. In fact, my wife started CrossFit with me around a year or so ago now and she was brand new to CrossFit. The coaches here helped her modify the movements when she was both new to CrossFit, and then soon afterwards during the entirety of a pregnancy. As a result she exercised safely throughout her pregnancy, was able to get in great workouts, and had a fun community to do so in.

I think an important consideration with any CrossFit affiliate, or group class structure, is to make sure the class times will work for you and your schedule. I have a busy job, but I have ample opportunities to make it to the classes at this gym. Between the earliest of 5:15am and between either the 4:30pm or 5:45pm are doable for my schedule but there are other other opportunities sprinkled in between those times as well.

Classes last for one hour. They start with a discussion of the warm-up, skill and/or strength portion, and the WOD (workout of the day). There’s lots of space to spread out, and there is plenty of equipment.

The workouts are made available through an app which many other CrossFit gyms use, SugarWOD. The app doubles as a log of your workouts to track your progress over time and as a social media app for CrossFit.

With working out a CrossFit gym, there is something special about folks of different backgrounds, of work/life, coming together in a group and motivating each other to push through a challenging workout and having a coach guide you along the way. My wife and I love it here and we both think this is an awesome gym.

My experience has been amazing. I came in November of 2022 and wanted to bulk up and gain muscle. I started at 185 pounds. With the help of the coaches and a meal plan, also provided by the staff, I have gained and maintained a weight of 225. All muscle baby! I know a lot of people are looking to lose weight or just gain muscle definition. Whatever your goals, you can achieve it at WLRCF. You just have to show up and do the work. And the work is tough, but it’s fun, thanks to all the great coaches. Nothing meaningful is achieved without hard work and a certain level of pain. But we are all going through it together.

I've been going here for years. The staff really wants you to succeed in your goals and the community is fantastic (I met my wife here!). The class program is broad enough to cover beginners and veterans. I could not climb a flight of stairs when I started and now I can move heavy things from A to B without giving it much thought. Since starting at West Little CrossFit I have improved my overall health by leaps and bounds that I could not imagine. I joined WLRCF a little over a year ago and it has been such a great experience. I was honestly a little intimidated starting out but after foundations and experiencing how every coach provides feedback to help ensure you’re doing movements safely, I’ve come to thoroughly enjoy the workouts. Especially since being pregnant (the past 8 months), I've appreciated the gym and all the coaches even more. Having CrossFit to go to even 2-3 times a week has helped me keep moving, which was a goal of mine throughout pregnancy, and the coaches have been so helpful in helping me choose an appropriate option for scaling exercises since there's been a lot of movements I've had to adjust. The amazing and fun members at the gym are an added bonus!

I had an okay experience really up until this weekend. Came in for a foundations class, but the trainer I was supposed to train with wasn’t in. I asked the only employee that was there about it and she called him. She told me I wasn’t supposed to be there and he’ll call me and just started walking away without further explanation. I tried to show her the text to show that I was supposed to be there and she ignored me.

I asked to cancel the membership because this is very unprofessional— it was frustrating bc they were just being rude for something that was clearly a misunderstanding. She said idk and I left.

I talked to the trainer but honestly it just felt like it wasn’t worth the hassle to try to make a class when I wouldn’t have been able to use the membership to the fullest due to it taking three weeks to go through foundations. I found the cancellation form online and cancelled.

I got a phone call the next morning and was told I wasn’t the right fit for the gym. I was indeed angry about this because I hadn’t done anything to anyone at this gym. And I was trying to cancel to no longer have contact with anyone at the gym. I asked what I did wrong and was told I could’ve handled things differently with no further explanation. I just started listing why I was quitting, along with trying to figure out what I did that would make them say that I didn’t belong there. Both trainers, kept nice tones throughout my interactions with them. It’s just what they said was uncalled for.

This is truly the first gym where I’ve felt accepted. The coaches and members are great, and they all push me to be stronger every day. I joined this gym after taking a few years off from CrossFit (and fitness in general 🤦🏼‍♀️) and I’m so glad I did! I am relatively new to the area and didn’t know anyone who went to the gym prior so I was a bit nervous. Everyone is SO friendly and welcoming. All the coaches and members make a point to learn your name and get to know you in a way that instantly makes you feel like you belong. Additionally, it’s obvious that all of the coaches are very knowledgeable about fitness and kinesiology. They give specific pointers tailored to each individual on how to better improve their performance and technique as well as setting appropriate goals and scaling parameters for the WOD. Great place with great people. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help out with any questions I had. I love coming here and geeking out with friends about fitness. If you don’t know anyone, that’s not a problem, because once you walk in, at least three people will introduce themselves.

This box is a major pillar in my life at this point. Not even sure where to begin. From a health/fitness stand point, it has completely healed my knees after having surgery a few years ago, I've lost almost 20lbs since starting June of 2016, and I feel great ALL THE TIME! From a personal perspective, for me and my wife, it is "our thing" and we are both pretty much obsessed at this point. The biggest thing we get from it is the community we are now wrapped up in which extends beyond the gym in the form of float trips and other get-togethers.
