3-4 stars. The gym itself is good and has lots and lots of machines with instruction on how to use. Very crowded Monday - Wednesday then it decreases everyday until Sunday which almost no one is there on Sunday so it is less crowded. There is lots and lots of cardio machines, only 1 smith, 2 Olympic platforms. 3 benches aswell as 1 incline and decline bench and 2 non Olympic squat racks. 3 dual cable crosses and one big cable rig with many different cables and attachments. One thing this gym could definitely work on is the cleanliness. I would recommend that on the 2nd Sunday of every month they close the gym and hire a cleaning crew to clean the place. Would be willing to pay extra on the membership if it was cleaner. Has some rare machines like lat pullover and pendulum squat. But the weak point of this gym is the cleanliness. Has good machines and free weights.

Man, I came to this gym and was greeted by Patty and Evan. They were so cool, I wasn’t having the best day and they cheered me up pretty quick. That and some pre workout made my day. It was my first time at this gym and it seemed small but it was a great job and pretty roomie. I went to deadlift today and they offered me lifting chalk when I brought up deadlifting. Great Gym. My only complaint is the number of self-centered, thoughtless members who hog machines between sets. This morning, I observed at least three of the key machines in the main area,at the same time, being hogged by members sat glued to their phone for several minutes at a time.
Unfortunately club management never does anything about it, and except to post notices that those people clearly either haven't bothered to read, or willfully disregard.

This Rancho Santa Margarita 24 is the most underrated club I’ve ever been to. For being an Active, it’s actually very spacious and clean. Gilbert the club attendant does an amazing job keeping this place clean. The machines and equipment are actually in very good shape and the staff is very friendly. 10/10 recommend.

I haven't even been my first time and I already had a not good experience. I signed up primarily because of the sauna benefits. It's tough to do regularly but I thought at least I could go first thing in the morning before my wife and I get her day started and get some heat shock protein benefits... Should be open in thought, after all it's called 24 hour fitness. Of course I don't expect them to literally be open 24 hours, but I thought 6 am was a reasonable time. To my surprise, they're not open until 8 am on weekends! That throws all my plans out the window. Might end up cancelling, what's the point if I can't use it when I have the opportunity.

All issues (except old equipment) has been fixed. I’m impressed by the turnaround, especially janitorial. I mean, the new cleaning crew literally gets on his knees and cleans everything from ground up!! He actually takes pride in keeping this place clean for members, and I thanked him for a great job. Still not a 5-star, because, well, it’s not a 5-star gym like Lifetime or Equinox (also not as expensive). Would now recommend.

I just finished 2 years of membership and I will not be renewing. The staff are all friendly but there are a few deal breakers for me.

They do not keep it clean enough, everything looks a little grimy.
They don't take care of the equipment. The bikes always have broken straps, there's one bike with so much rust on it I wouldn't get near it if you don't have a tetanus vaccine. There is a leg press that was out of order for almost a year before it was fixed.

This place has potential to be a great gym, but management needs to be way more attentive to issues and cleanliness.

Most of the treadmills are always broken. There is no proper way to workout in the room that they “cleared” as an extra room. Putting broken machines in that room defeats the purpose of offering space. When machines are broken such as leg press, it just gets removed. Since the gym is already extremely small it is important to have equipment that works for the amount of money that we pay for the gym.

I’ve been coming to the 24 hour fitness and RSM for many years mostly because of its convenient location and easy access… It’s always easy to find a parking too.

One of the reasons I want to write this review is just to give a huge shout of gratitude and appreciation for the manager Farid Fakhari!

Oh my goodness at around 5:30 PM, one of the busiest times for any gym Manager… Farid was gracious enough to help me push my car to a parking spot after it died in the middle of a street.

This kind of help exceeds far beyond his duties and I am beyond grateful for his kindness and humanity.

Now I love the gym even more!

I enjoy our RSM facility. I recommend this gym. I use it on off hours.
The women’s bathroom is always clean when I am there so I am surprised about the reviews that state otherwise. There are occasions when 1 or 2 treadmills are out of order but plenty of others are available and the broken ones are fixed by my next visit.
DeVante is very responsive if you have questions or point out any issues.

Let's just talk about the bathrooms. A mess. Not some of the time, but all of the time. I get that good labor is hard to find and that people are generally disgusting, but this is ridiculous. There's bloody pads on the floor. Never any toilet paper. People don't have a clue how to flush the toilets. Gross.

This gym smells bad, people have no gym etiquette, barely any equipment, machines are always out of service, employees can be rude, and it’s really dirty. I’m paying $30+ a month to not even be able to fully workout because the machines are always either taken or broken. Not worth the ridiculous amount of money they ask of you in my opinion. The Gym needs all the air ducts cleaned by a professional company gym has no air flow especially after Covid this should be a standard procedure done every 6 months. The lights in the entire gym look worn out and burnt out they need to all be replaced with new LED lights all uniform one color same with the parking lot and a fresh coat of paint for the entire gym it needs a refresh and is in serious need of repair especially the cardio equipment.

For the second day in a row, this gym did not open on time. I’ve been to several of these facilities and other locations and I’ve never experienced this at any of them. Secondly, this place needs a thorough cleaning as it is though not been well-maintained.

The equipment appears to be in decent shape, but there’s a lot of dust dirt and debris throughout the gym itself.

The staff seems very friendly, but opening on time and having a clean facility is paramount, which is why I only gave it two stars. If management/ownership takes my comments and others who feel the same way seriously, and make changes I would be more than willing to come back and change my review.

People come to workout early in the morning when you are SUPPOSED to be open AT 5 am. If that’s going to change they need to make that public. This is completely Unacceptable, I don’t pay $30+ a month for the gym employees not to show up when they should be this happened 2 DAYs in a row

The last two days have been inexcusable with the store not being open on time. More than 10 people outside waiting to get their workout done waiting for over 40 minutes is ridiculous. We pay good money for them to still be called 24 hour fitness and not even open on time with their new hours. Time for a new gym.

I wish I could give 0. Over the years the facility got neglected very much. The machines are not repaired in time. The ladies bathroom stalls are not being cleaned at all. A few of the stalls are not working and the rest of them are clogged very often. The water runs out on the floor and it’s a risky situation for the people who walk on it. The stalls are very filthy and need to be cleaned. It’s a shame that a reputable establishment like 24 Fitness fails to take care of the basic needs of the clients. I hope the management will pay attention and rectify this.

I wish I could give it 0 stars. The facilities are garbage. The toilet seat is literally missing fform a toilet in the men's room. The equipment is old and broken. Where does my membership fee go? Do you all fix anything? Absolutely trash.

Yea it's pretty good. It's a small location as far as 24 Hour Fitness goes but as long as you're there to get lifting done, it's all you need.
As you walk in there's lots of protein and other supplements you can buy but honestly they're kind of expensive. There's a staff section with mostly desks for signing up. The main room is full of aerobic equipment and other various machines. There's also a faux grass pad and two (2) deadlift pads with small racks and a kettlebell rack with a few yoga pads.
Across from this are the locker rooms which obviously smell terrible but your stuff is safe here as long as you've got a lock, never had a problem here, and the bathrooms are small.
The next room is the free weights section, but there's also machines for pulldowns and rows, etc.
The last room is a zumba/yoga studio. Wood floors and mirrored walls complete this, as well as lots of small dumbbells, chairs, yoga pads, and other equipment line the walls. The lights are never on in here but the fans are always spinning at Mach 10.
Overall, it's one of the gyms. Also, not even open 24 hours due to city ordinance, but it's not their fault. The nearest 24 hour 24 Hour Fitness is in Irvine.

I would give ZERO stars if I could. Rude, and condescending staff working at the front desk. The guy, Nick, was very friendly and gracious, but that girl working with him this afternoon, ugh! Absolutely horrible! She was so unnecessarily, nasty, rude and unkind to my daughter, who happens to be visiting from another state. I'm seriously considering canceling my membership and taking my business to another gym.

Grew up as a teenager here when it was family fitness...how can I not love this place ... They did some nice upgrades the past year.... Has everything a fitness guru would need, and not intimidating for a beginner or anyone looking to join. Staff is friendly and professional.

The equipment is old and beat up and there are way too many members here for the size of the place. Also, the hours on the weekends are ridiculously short for being a "24 hour" ...Sunday the gym closes at 9pm.

UPDATE: This place is still the red-headed step child of all surrounding 24 hour fitness centers. Everything here is older and still not updated. This gym really is lacking.

UPDATE: The men's bathroom stinks, everything is still beat up... just more so now. Compared to the Foothill Ranch and Ladera facilities this place is an absolute dump.

The club just raised the kids club fee to $8 per child. I just found out today when I wanted to pay for my kid. $8 is a ridiculous fee and because the corporate greed I wont to be able to bring my child to the gym anymore. He’s going to miss playing with his friends.
