I enjoyed my experience here. This gym comes fully equipped and has so many great perks. There’s a dry and wet sauna which is clean, a pool and jacuzzi. Many many workout equipment I’ve never had to wait on any machine. CLASSES. I will say the women’s locker room is not usually the cleanest place. The floor has wet clumps of hair, feels gritty and dirty, bathroom stalls feel like trucker stop facilities (if you know what I mean). I wish they had paper towels instead of hand dryers; at least an option. Canceling my membership was very easy and pretty much like “ok here’s your receipt, proof you cancelled” it felt very honest with no tricks. You also get a left over refunds for any days 5 or more.

I decided to cancel because during this fall November there has been a overcrowd of people. Unless maybe you’re coming at 3 am it’s hard to avoid. I tried to come at 5 am and I think people have the same idea. I’ve tried different times. I get concerned about getting sick because I love to go to the sauna. You’re in a room with 12 people. You almost need another dry sauna. Unfortunately sometimes people are getting over a cold and don’t think about others or think the sauna will be healing for them; so they come. I’ve been sick a couple times and decided to give my gym membership a break until cold/flu season is kind of over.

Always filthy, the pool area needs a good power washing, always find Band-Aids by the hot tub, lots of trash, always around the bathroom and sauna steam room, on my last visit I found 52 pieces of gum just on the floor easily could’ve been picked up and those saunas and the steam room are completely disgusting. Got Scammed by the “$1 Promo” - Learn From My Mistake
So back in September, I stopped by to check out the gym. Sales guy immediately hits me with this deal - “Get your family member a whole month for just a dollar!”

Cool, I think. My wife could use a gym membership. I pull out a dollar bill to pay right there.

He goes, “Oh no, you have to put a card on file.”

I tell him, “Okay, let me put my wife’s card then since it’s her membership.”

“Can’t do that. Has to be YOUR card for HER membership.”

That felt weird but whatever, I wanted to get her signed up. So I gave him my card. He runs through everything super quick, I sign, we’re done. At no point does he mention anything about an annual fee. I’m thinking I just paid a dollar and we’re good.

Two weeks later - October 1st - I see a $30 charge on my card. Annual fee. For a membership my wife literally never used. She hadn’t gone to the gym even once.

I call them about it and basically get told “you agreed to it when you signed up.” Yeah, except nobody TOLD me about it when I was standing there trying to hand them a dollar bill.

Look, I get it - I should’ve read everything more carefully. But this whole thing felt designed to trap people. The $1 promotion to get you excited, the pressure to put YOUR card on file for someone else’s membership, rushing through the paperwork, and mysteriously forgetting to mention the $30 fee that hits two weeks later.

That’s not an accident. That’s how they do business.

I’ve canceled everything. The $30 isn’t even the point anymore - it’s how slimy the whole experience was. There are too many other gyms out there that don’t pull this kind of stuff.

Good selection of equipment. You'll get all the weight machines and free weights you need for any sort of muscle group here, and the staff members are polite.

While I haven't personally interacted with them, the instructors here are always helping members familiarize themselves with equipment and figure out good workout plans, and I haven't heard anything bad about them. Instructors here also pretty frequently host Zumba classes that a lot of members seem to enjoy.

The main issue is that this gym is pretty dirty. The spray bottles that should be left available to members next to paper towels to clean equipment are always either empty or gone, and the male bathroom & locker room is always dirty, especially inside the lockers, as some members like to leave stuff like used floss and toothpicks inside. I can't speak on the female locker room and bathroom, but I'm guessing they're not much better. There is a swimming pool and steam room, but I haven't really been there, and I doubt they're very well kept either.

Great, now you guys are removing the basketball court, one of the main reasons people go to this gym. We are just trying to hoop, and apparently it's for space for "new workout area," Im pretty sure playing basketball IS a workout, especially for those who take the game serious. My experience today was exceptional for this gym. It was clean and front desk was attended to by the manager Spencer. I had some administrative questions about billing. He looked into it and give my options, offered the best scenario. He was friendly, smiled which many people no longer do in a field such as his. He shook my hand upon completion of my transaction. This gym was decent 10 years ago. At this point, you have homeless in the parking lot at night, broken equipment, filthy bathrooms and pool/sauna area. Just wanna reach out to the management of this 24 hour fitness, as a member of 24 hour for years, especially in this gym, I appreciate you general manger and number of your employees in this gym, because of their wonderful attitude and energy.

Tonight (September 23 around 9:00pm) as I came in, at front desk to check in, this tall lady with short hair and curly hair, setting on top of the desk, facing opposite way,
I said “HI” with positive attitude.

she, with very rude face and attitude telling me to move your phone this way and that way, and she moved the scanner and pointed at me several times in a very disrespectful way, telling me brink up my light!

After it got scanned, again she pointed at me with very disrespectful and in a bully way, told me to come back to front desk!
She told me who’s this” the picture” everyone around front saw that the picture is me, and crazy part is that I renewed my membership with her, and set up my app and picture with her!
Either way if she remember or no. pls and pls from management all I want is to pls either have a conversation with employees, pls to stop bullying and being rude to people that are not mean and rude to you!
She ruined my whole workout with that attitude!

If you having a bad day, pls don’t miss up other people’s day!
As someone that worked in cooperate I can understand people have bad days, but this is not first time!
So pls MR Manager Adress this issue.

UPDATE Aug 2025: Lots of posters that say upgrades are coming. When I asked a team member if they were going to bring in some mats and small weights, he looked at me with pretty much no response. He told me to bring my own mat. WTH? Shall we start bringing our own weights too??

UPDATE May 2025: I don’t know who is giving these 5 star reviews. Maybe employees or friends? Nothing has changed. No mats, no small weights. Not very clean.

UPDATE 2025: Be prepared to bring your own mat and weights. I’ve complained (again) about the lack of equipment in the room where they hold classes. Associate was very honest when I said should I contact Corporate and he said it would just probably go in a black hole. Said they spent a lot of money on new HVACs so they didn’t have money. Not a good sign.

UPDATE: I think they have finally taken these bad reviews to heart. While there are still items that need to be addressed, there has been some improvement. I actually saw a person vacuuming the floor, lifting a treadmill up and vacuuming underneath it. (And there was a ton of stuff underneath it). The mirrors in the classroom were a bit cleaner but the floors could do with a refresh. There were 6 treadmills out of order, an improvement over the 10 I reported earlier. There is mold in the drinking fountains. I can’t report on the bathrooms as I try to avoid them. I also noticed there is someone at the front to greet you (except today) but previously there was usually no one there. Hopefully they will continue to make cleanliness a priority.

10 treadmills down and place is dirty, especially the room that holds classes. Mirrors have fingerprints all over, floor is filthy- hair, scuff marks. Have complained about this before and manager pretty much said he couldn’t do anything about it.

Maybe a call to the Health Department would motivate them Look how many reviews repeat how dirty it is and management gives the same old canned response.

The air does not work well in the gym area and Corporate needs to repair as soon as possible. I’ve been a member for years, and I have to say — the gym experience has really declined. I regularly see individuals bringing in luggage, only to use the showers and bathrooms, never touching the equipment. It gives the impression that the facility is being used more like a public rest stop than a fitness center.

Additionally, it seems like free or heavily discounted memberships are being handed out. A large number of people inside the gym are not in workout attire, don’t appear to be using the equipment properly (if at all), and many don’t seem to understand basic gym etiquette or communicate with staff.

This is not the 24 Hour Fitness I joined. The cleanliness and serious fitness environment that once made this place stand out are slipping away. I’m hoping management can take a closer look at what’s happening on the floor and take action to bring the focus back to health, fitness, and member experience.

On month long road trip and stopped here in spite of bad reviews becuz parking is more difficult downtown. I have to concur it is very unclean. I was looking at upgrading gym and so I signed up for the free trial. I received a phone call from Patrick about getting me setup with a membership if I was interested. Water every where, inside the lockers are filthy, trash and rust inside the vents, & it looks as though there are no janitors in this establishment. All these 24 Hour Fitness’s in Sacramento need to do better. We’re throwing money away on memberships but aren’t reaping the benefits of a clean environment. Put more restrictions on the habitual offenders! 24 Hour Fitness knows who they are.

Wow, what an unforgettable experience! This place really stands out ,broken equipment, zero hygiene, and a team of managers and employees who clearly take pride in being as rude and unhelpful as possible. I was lucky enough to witness a pricing scam firsthand: a $19.99 promotion still active for three more days magically turned into $24.99 at checkout. When I questioned it, the first employee tried to upsell me without explanation. Thankfully, a different location knew how to honor their own promotions , maybe send your staff there for training?

Love this gym. The classes are fantastic and absolutely love them, but the facilities are really dated and needs some updating. Hopefully they will upgrade a bit so I don’t decide to switch gyms to a newer one.

I just started going back to the gym, and I’m so grateful that my very first Body Pump class was with Nai! She’s absolutely amazing, her energy is unmatched and she keeps the motivation high from start to finish. I honestly wish she taught more days. I’m not taking away from how great the other instructors are, but Nai truly stands out! she’s one of a kind. Her energy, connection, and ability to inspire are unmatched. There’s just something about the way she leads that leaves you feeling empowered and ready to take on anything. I’m not the only one, I’ve talked to so many others who feel the exact same way. We want Nai every day! She always chooses the best workout songs, and it makes the class so fun and empowering. For anyone who struggles with using gym machines, Nai is the perfect introduction to fitness!! she makes it approachable, exciting, and something you’ll want to stick with long-term. I always enjoy her class. One thing I really hope the gym considers adding is more yoga mats. Overall, i hope the gym classes stay, it helps motivate me to come to the gym.

My experience at 24 hour fitness Laguna help shape part of my life with amazing instructors such as Nai, Lisa, Kenny, Gloria, and Kerry. Nai's Hiit/Gritt/ Sprint classes , Kerry and Lisa's bodycombat, Kenny's Kickboxing, Gloria's yoga, and our amzing Zumba instructors Toby, Lee, and Blanca, they help me get into the best physical shape for my age and better shape mentally as well. These wonderful instructors created a community, a gym family where we all encourage each other to continue to do our best inside the gym and with that same energy, to continue to our best outside of the gym. This gym with our amazing instructors are more than a fitness center. We are a community with a love for fitness, a love for striving to be our personal best, and a love for encouraging others to do the same.
I look forward to more GX classes such as core lead by our amazing instructors as do many of our gym family members at our Happy Place location Laguna. 😊

As a new member signing up for my membership, I was beyond pleased with how easy it was to work with Patrick up front. Although he was still occupied with other guests, Patrick was able to greet me and let me know he would help me as soon as he was done and had me sit comfortably while waiting for my turn, which was not long at all.

Patrick is very friendly, provided much information what the gym offers and encouraged questions so I didn't have any concerns about the many programs they have to help me be healthier, stronger and a better me.

I am a long time member of 24 Hour Fitness Club at Laguna in Elk Grove. They have great classes like Less Mills Body Combat, Body Pump, and Sprints. They also have Kickboxing, Zumba, Grit, Yoga, and other great classes. My favorite instructors are Kenny, Nai, Leonard, Lisa, Gloria, Cat, Alondra, Kerry, Lee, Mary, and Toby. I also lift weights at this club. I started working out in 2015 at 300 pounds, and I sm now down to 180 pounds. This club and the great instructors have really helped me achieve my goals to be healthy and fit for life! My only gripe is the lack of floor mats and dumbbells. Also, sometimes the paper towel dispensers are out of paper towels.

I really love the Laguna Club because they have so many great classes than other gyms and of course all the instructors are excellent especially Nai, Kenny, Lisa, Leonard, Gloria, Catherine and Alondra and so many more. Of course I made so many wonderful friends, and they are my family. It’s really fun working and taking all the classes. I am so thankful I joined 24 hours fitness at Laguna because I am healthier and stronger now😆. 24 Hour fitness really has changed my lifestyle, and I am addicted to working out. THANK YOU 🙏 so much 24 hour fitness and thanks to the best GROUP X instructors. My main concern is they don’t have enough dumbbells and exercise floor mats.

The only thing holding up this place are the classes. They literally carry this gym to profit. They need to clean the gym (at a MINIMUM)

Give Nai her 7:30 AM Les Mills core class on Saturdays. It’s a must. In my opinion, it should be a bit early like 7:20ish

Give Leonard his 12:00Pm Saturday class!

They need more money to replace the machines, get new mats, and new rollers. And give all of the teachers a big fat raise.

Amazing place!! I love the body pump and attended the body pump classes with my mom on Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturday mornings. I absolutely love the Les mills instructors Nai, Kenny, Gloria, and Cat! They all put so much energy and passion in the workout that you get really into it! I have seen more results to my body than I have any other time working out in these past six months! Nai is also interested in starting a core class in the morning time 7:30 am on Saturdays and that’s something I definitely would like to attend!!
