I’ve belonged to AF for a little over 12 years in various states and countries and this gym is a daily reminder of why I have yet to find a reason to cancel - there just isn’t a more convenient, efficient and effective gym rival. I started going to this AF shortly after the Carlsbad location closed after COVID and am done gate keeping this great location. This location has packed as much new and old school equipment as you could imagine in such a small space. Benches, free weights, bumpers, platforms, turf, treadmills, ellipticals, peloton, treadmills, and every machine under the sun. Yes, the gym is on the small side so if you’re planning on working out at peak hours, it doesn’t take many people for it to feel crowded. That said, after coming here for nearly two years, I’ve yet for it to feel crowded. Three adjustable benches in the free weight section, dumbbells up to 100 pounds, two hex deadlifts bars and even a brand new safety squat bar. They’ve got battle ropes, a sled, and kettlebells up to 90 pounds. They have three bathrooms, two of which with a full shower. They offer stretching and personal training services at this location as well. The owner is also a veteran so all the more reason to support this local small business. Highly recommended if your looking for a no frills, no nonsense, get in a solid workout and back to your busy life.

I moved to the area for a job over a year ago and feel so lucky to have found this gym! I tried several other spots in the region but they were either way too crowded, filthy, had crappy equipment, or all of the above.
Carly and Eric (the owner) are super friendly and signing up was a zero pressure situation unlike a lot of commercial gyms. I mostly work out in the evenings (4-5 times a week) and rarely feel like it gets too crowded here. Almost always I’m able to use the equipment I need on any given day without waiting. The vibe is laid back and actually feels like a community! This place is well worth it if you value welcoming staff, cleanliness, great equipment, private bathrooms, and easy going patrons.

Hi, I just wanna say how awesome is Anytime Fitness? I was greeting by the owner of the place. How about that? I felt very special he exercise he showed me all the machines and I had so much patience with me because I’m not that person that comes to the gym often so if you are thinking about it if you don’t know how to start it that’s the place to start it because he is amazing. He has a great team behind him and I am so much of it and they motivate you and I’m looking forward to achieve my goal. I’m really putting in my head that I am. I just turned 60. I grew up in Encinitas and have been a member of many gyms over the last 30 years. This one is my favorite hands down. Small family vibe, not crowded, super clean, and everyone is very respectful. It's a small gym, it appears that you use a code to let yourself in anytime 24/7. As the name implies. I do not think it has pool racquetball basketball sauna any of that stuff. Correct me if I'm wrong. I would say this would work out well for someone who wants to work out at odd hours or wants to avoid the crowds at all. The other gyms. I DID visit the gym. it was locked. ;)

This is the best Anytime fitness location I have been to. New equipment, nice layout, and a really good free weight section with a proper olympic platform. They have a fairly large open area with a sled, rowing machines, and kettlebells that's great for circuits. The people are friendly and even in the morning at peak times it doesn't feel crowded. Great gym, shoutout to sean, he is great! I had him as a coach for a few months, and he was a great fitness coach! Very knowledgeable and positive, and personable with workout routines.

Only thing i wish was different was the membership plans. If there was a monthly option i would have done that, but only 1 year or 2 year was available. When canceling with a few months left i was billed the remaining days of the year in one transaction and it cancelled immediately.

Otherwise staff was on top of things! Its clean, and small so not many people are there at 1 time. I loved going at night after work when not a lot of people were there.

Before joining just consider the agreement you sign and be prepared to be locked in 👍

This is one of the most clean, atmospheric, and simple gyms I’ve gone to. My home gym is the Vista location and while that one is also great, this one is next level. The equipment is new and amazing which provides variety to your workout. The concession corner is also a game changer in case you forget anything at all, from preworkout to earbuds, they have you covered. I’ve been going to this Encinitas location since it opened, but I’ve been using Anytime Fitness when I travel in the US/Canada/Australia/NZ for a few years. I told Eric(the owner) this is my favorite location of about 30-35 I’ve been to and I realized I hadn’t left a review yet. They keep the place spotless, all the staff are super friendly, and even the client base they’ve developed is full of courteous and friendly people. The equipment is always kept in great shape and they constantly find little ways to keep making the place better. They also consistently have small events to build a great community. After years of searching for a gym that met my needs, I finally found it! Personable, clean, welcoming and open when I need it. The trainers, staff, owners, and even the members are always upbeat and engaged. Been going consistently now 3 times a week for 8 months, which is a streak I've never had anywhere else. 100% recommended.

I can't speak highly enough about the service I received at Anytime Fitness, particularly thanks to the owner, Erik. I was traveling from the East Coast for a wedding and arrived much earlier than my Airbnb check-in time. With suitcases in tow, I stopped by the gym and Erik graciously allowed me to store my bags, enabling me to squeeze in a workout and get ready for the wedding rehearsal dinner hassle-free.

The gym itself exceeded my expectations. It's impeccably clean, and every machine is in top-notch condition, ensuring a seamless workout experience. I was particularly impressed by the stretching and personal training area, which added value to my routine.

Moreover, the presence of separate bathrooms with showers was a major plus, offering privacy and convenience. Overall, I highly recommend Anytime Fitness not only for its friendly atmosphere and cleanliness but also for its convenient location. Erik's above-and-beyond service truly made my visit memorable. Five ✅ stars all around!

I spent about two weeks in Carlsbad for work and used this location 6-7 times. The gym was always very clean, stocked with new equipment, and I was always greeted by any staff that happened to be on the floor. The quality of AF locations can vary greatly but this is definitely one of the best I've been to! If you are an avid powerrack/barbell person like me, keep in mind that there is only one rack. However, it seems like most of the clientele don't use it and I only had to share it once. The man I shared with was happy to help swap between our weights after each of our sets, so it wasn't a hiccup to my workout at all. Great gym.

I’m taking the time to write this review for Anytime Fitness in Encinitas.

I belong to a lot of gyms in the area. I pretty much been a member at most all of them at one time and I have to say that I really enjoy Anytime Fitness in Encinitas. The gym super clean organized, never crowded. It’s open 24 seven so you know if you need to work around your schedule work or school there’s always availability for you.

They have Everything anybody would need for your workouts. They also have an Evolt body composition machine which I started to use, and it’s completely free.

I haven’t been in the gym in a couple years so I decided to start with a personal trainer because I have new goals in mind and I paired up with Melissa. Her overall knowledge of muscle movements , stretching, coordination, stability and nutrition is above and beyond.

The owner is great no pressure from him or any of the staff. They always say hello and it’s a very friendly place. I would recommend highly to anybody that is looking to join

AF Encinitas has a friendly & helpful staff, an inviting atmosphere, and a complementary, high-quality fitness evaluation -- mine with Sean was outstanding. Great gym--everything is new, clean, and the staff are friendly.

I especially appreciate the flexibility the gym offers. That's not necessarily unique among anytime fitness gyms, but it is unique to Encinitas where other gyms have more restrictive schedules (particularly on the weekends).

Hands down the best gym in Encinitas. It's a great feeling when you walk in the door and the entire staff greets you by name. Eric and Tracey are the owners, and they run a clean and well put together gym. Sean the trainer, who trains is awesome to work with and a genuinely good human being. New up and comer AJ is super sweet, always has a smile and a go get em attitude. There is rarely a crowd, so no waiting on the machine you want, because some teen is sitting on it texting. They have bottles of cleaner and towels available, and everyone is pretty good about wiping things down when they are done. The equipment is all in great shape and is well maintained. Bathrooms are clean and there are 3 of them, with showers available. So, if you are looking for a gym, or looking to switch from that other gym up the road. This one is highly recommended. If there were more than 5 stars, i would give them all.

This marks the last time I go to this gym. I joined about 6 months ago and didn’t do a thorough check because I have been a member for 2.5 years and all of them have been great. But this one is filthy, in disrepair and when something breaks which is often it takes weeks to repair. If you don’t ever use the bathroom or shower just use the equipment you might be fine but if you do, you’ll be disgusted and will need to clean it yourself, which other members have shared they do and only at this gym. If you don’t mind the sight of someone’s beard trimmings on the shower floor, dirty towels soap and razors left behind, then have at it. Ladies, you will gag often when you enter these bathrooms. The toilet paper is beyond paper thin, toilet seat covers are non existent. Oh and the shower heads are pointed towards the wall and very high up, so it hits you in the face and if you want to rinse your private parts you have to hug the wall and still it’s a big miss. After the staff leave there is a man who frequently locks himself in the bathroom and sleeps in there and smokes cigarettes. It stinks! If you dare to nicely make a complaint, the owners wife will call you very defensively make excuses. I complained in an email 3 times about these issues and the third time I was asked to find another gym. I called corporate knowing they are privately franchised but thought they should know, given it’s their brand. After that call, they had a cleaning crew come in and they bought some new furniture to hold dirty towels. Looks like they got them from Toys R Us. It did help from members leaving towels in the floor. The repairs I complained about got fixed untill they break again. I did go around to other gyms in the area and decided on one that’s very clean and much more equipment and classes, amenities including a lap pool and sauna. I’ll miss the private bathrooms that anytime fitness has but not this one. Happy days are here again.

Brand new super clean gym with a great layout, lots of equipment, and it's rarely too busy. I wish there was more than 1 barbell setup, but for the space I get it! The owners and staff are incredibly kind, they even hosted a Halloween event and went all out on decorations and goodies. I also really love the eco-friendly towel/spray bottle situation as compared to rolls of wipes, good on you guys for this! I like this gym way better than EOS :)

As a longtime member, I have visited many clubs, but this one stood out members take care of this place by putting all their equipment away! So rare these days. They also had a nice functional area, a sled! From tank… I had never been to this location as I was visiting from Phoenix for the holidays.

This anytime fitness is one of the most unique out of all of them that I've ever been to....it has much more equipment. It's almost like a mini CrossFit gym. They have done a great job here... Luke the owner is so kind and genuine.

Bathrooms are always clean they make sure that the equipment is kept up on. Three squat racks bumper plates sled artificial turf skiers concept two rowers functional equipment kettlebells I mean they really do have it all.

Always genuine and personable, everyone at this Encinitas, CA location are remarkable in their personal engagement, welcoming atmosphere, professional and personal encouragement. Owner Eric, trainer Sean, and all staff, have exceptional background and provide incredible knowledge, technique and passion, above and beyond functional fitness, to craft an amazing experience tailored to my personal circumstance and interests. Even the post workout stretching is essentially a micro PT session which is a very nice plus.

A beautifully designed facility, intimate yet fully functional, with many thoughtful touches throughout, make every experience here remarkably engaging and enjoyable to look forward to.

This is my favorite Anytime Fitness Gym so far. It’s open, and although the space is small, it’s utilized well. There’s an open area to work with kettle bells and the like, which is neat. I don’t feel cramped. The gym is kept clean, and I like the fact that there are fresh hand towels and cleanser provided to wipe equipment down, not one-use wipes, which means less waste.
