Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi is a yoga studio in Burbank offering holistic wellness classes consisting of yoga, tai chi, meditation, and breathwork based on 5000-year-old Korean traditions. We offer a variety of yoga classes for beginners and more advanced classes to energize and heal the mind, body, and spirit.

I absolutely recommend this magical place!
As a yoga teacher I felt I needed more internal work. I noticed mental and physiological changes in my body within just 3 weeks! It’s a moving meditation and an internal massage for all your organs moving all the stagnant energy. An ancient practice that should not be forgotten. It is very different and refreshing. Also, the teachers are very welcoming and everyone there is friendly. I found my new community!! Hope to see you there :)

This place, and the exercise program, and the guidance for life, is everything! I have been a body builder, runner and martial arts person for most of my adult life. I was getting bored with the gym and not seeing any improvements, so I started looking around for something new. I saw a flyer with an invitation to try out Dahn Yoga, now Brain and Body, near my place in Glendale. So, I went, and I was amazed by how good I felt after the class. What I learned about connecting with my body and understanding energy flow was a game changer for me. That was in 2008 and I continue to this day. I am amazed at how simple it is to help heal your body and mind once you understand how to connect with your body. I am a retired aerospace engineer and I want to encourage you to invest in yourself and experience proper breathing, meditation, improved flexibility and peace of mind through Brain and Body yoga.

I have been a member at Body Brain Yoga for about two months. This program has changed my life in very positive ways. My body is becoming stronger and more flexible. They have a focus on being aware of inner body energy and sensations which has become quite valuable to me in melding my thoughts and body into one entity. I have been coming to Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi for just over a month and I am already experiencing more feelings of peace and balance in my emotions. I have been struggling with anxiety and depression in recent years, especially around my menstrual cycle. I knew I had to start a practice of activating my parasympathetic nervous system. I wanted to train my body and brain out of stress responses and always being in my sympathetic nervous system. I found Body & Brain through Google. I loved the idea of focusing on body and mind healing as that was just what I was needing. Not just another workout. I love working with Master Sunny. She is just delightful. She has a quiet strength and pushes you to move through discomfort for your healing. She also has an fun sense of humor and play. I also love that in classes we are mostly focused inward on our own bodies. It's very meditative. And I've been able to take many of the principals out into my every day life. I am more willing to love my pain and discomfort as I know that moving through it is the path to healing. I am also paying more attention to my body as I move through my day and incorporating more stretching and mindfulness. I am learning that my own body can guide me to my healing. Really grateful for this practice and I'm excited for my growth. :)

I enrolled to Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi -Burbank classes in 2012.  I came here with extreme lower back problems.  I had a pinched sciatic nerve pain about 5 years, I was in pain all the time, I couldn’t sleep because of that, i couldn’t walk straight and the back side of the upper part of my leg was numb since 2007.

At the very first day when I joined the classes I couldn’t even lie down on my back because of the pain. I was getting tears in my eyes, but I had hope that Yoga will help me.  My condition started to get better slowly.  After 1 year of training, I felt great, I had no pain til now, I slept well and I lost 15 pounds. In 2017 i stopped going to classes because of some personal problem and I wasn’t able to continue classes about 3 years.

On June 2020 because of COVID pandemic i got very bad anxiety and i decided to reconnect with my Body & Brain Yoga family. After almost 2 months of training with the great Masters my anxiety is gone and i am getting better and better every day. I am doing online classes 6 times a week and i am very happy because it’s very safe during pandemic time and it also gives you options to do classes in your convenient time. Special thanks to Master Dahari, she helped me a lot during COVID pandemic to cope with my anxiety, she is great, extremely caring and inspiring person. I also would like to thank Master Sunny for her great classes as well. If you have any kind of health problems this is the place for you, join our amazing team and won’t be disappointed!!!

I was referred to Master Sunny at Body and Brain Yoga by a friend of my husband's back in July of this year. It took me a little while to work up the courage to try something new, but I am very glad that I finally did!
I have been suffering with terrible anxiety and depression for years and this practice is teaching me how to deal with it naturally through energy healing. I've never felt so relaxed after exercise in my life! I also walk a lot and have a funny gait due to bunions, so my lower back is always in pain. In the short time I've been practicing, just over a month, I've learned just how much deep stretching and core strengthening exercises can help my back.
Master Sunny and Master Kim are extremely kind and welcoming. They help make the whole experience very positive and fun. I also love the Zoom classes that are offered, as I'm not always able to get to the studio. The online classes are just as fun as the in-studio classes, and I love all the different instructors' styles.
I was ready for change, for a new outlet, and have tried many different things. Body and Brain Tai Chi Yoga is a true fit! What really did it for me was the Finding True Self Workshop. It was such an experience! Completely worth it and will open the doors to a whole new world of self-awareness. I joined Body and Brain gym in Burbank about 18 months ago. I love the classes there. Started taking only 1 class a week, jumped to 2 about 3 months later and now going to 3 classes every week, sometimes to 4. I enjoy the routines Master Sunny teaches in the class and like the fact that each day is focused on a different type of exercises. I am so happy to have become a member here. Very reasonable pricing, and so much I have learned and am still learning! Ever since I joined Brain and Body a few months ago, I've learned several Sundo techniques, deep stretching, T'ai Chi, chakra and body tapping, and others types of practices that I knew nothing about, even though I've done Yoga and karate.

Master Sunni has been a very patient, kind, and dedicated teacher. She's the reason that I've joined this location. She's always interested in your personal progress and is always helpful with keeping you on track. We also get occasional Tai Chi lessons from Master Sol. Master Dahari who represents the Burbank Center is sweet, compassionate, dedicated, enthusiastic, patient and hardworking. I was referred by a friend who had been going to the classes and seeing Master Michelle and Master Michelle referred me to Master Dahari. I started doing online classes, then privates sessions on Zoom, came into the center twice because of the pandemic. I wish I could've gone into the center more often for my privates with Master Dahari bc during that time she helped me to improve my body by kneading a problem area, counseled and advised me how to use a wooden pillow and healing wand. Like all things, it takes persistence, practice, self-discipline and dedication to build good health. I'm still working on that.

I have been going to Body & Brains for 3 years, the Masters and staff at the Burbank Center are beyond helpful to each member, they care about you and how you feel. Reason I started was because I had no self confidence, feeling I was good not enough, but that all change when I started to do yoga and meditation working on me again. Training is the key to your happiness.
I could go on and on what an amazing center this is, but you will need to experience this yourself. I am not just saying this to put a review up, I am living proof if you want to change, change your mindset.

I have been a member since 2003. Body & Brain Yoga is my zen place to get away from day to day pressures. I honestly don't know where I would have been mentally or physically if it were not for this place! It helped me recover from many physical problems and is always there when I need a mental boost and emotional healing. I recommend it to everyone I know and got my sister to sign up as well. I have been going to Body & Brain for about 6 months now and I can say that my outlook on life and my connection to my mind and body are more in-tune now than I had ever experienced before. The practice is practical, natural, and it simply works. Give Body & Brain a shot! It is a gift to yourself that keeps on giving.

Since the stay at home orders were put into place, I have been doing their online classes almost everyday of the week. They help me stay connected with the center, keep me positive, and flexible with my mind and body. These classes have been a life saver! It is so nice to see friendly faces other than my family and cats during the day.

Before I stared classes here. I got two epidural shots, but none of them worked. I was taking 800 miligrams of IB Profin daily so that I could function through my lower back pain and sciatica. My friend suggested that I try Body & Brain Yoga. It was a tough start, but as I made it a part of my routine, it got easier, and I feel much better. I no longer take any medication for pain.

4 months ago I was overwhelmed by anxiety. An avid meditator, I wanted to start practicing mindful movement. Due to a herniated disc issue I've had for a few years, I've never really been able to practice yoga. So I decided to find a Tai Chi studio and by chance found Body & Brain. My experience so far has been AMAZING! Not only have I started to learn tai chi from the wonderful Master Dahari, but I've also done one on one energy healing (acupressure) with her at the studio. They offer a wide selection of classes that focus on energy healing / enhancing the movement of stagnant energy in your body. And the welcoming environment was an unexpected surprise / delight. After a class or personal session, tea is always offered as an opportunity to revel in the positive energy / body work you've just put in. This place has definitely helped me transform my anxiety into joy for the present moment. I feel more grounded than ever. Highly recommend this place!!

This is the most lovely studio in Burbank! The teacher is so experienced, so wise, so generous, so humorous, so much amazing energy. When you go to her studio, you feel welcome and at peace, you feel as if you walked into your own home.

I was attending a ladies fitness center 3 times a week with a friend but did not enjoy it, but I was accommodating her. When my friend took a vacation for a month I visited Body & Brain Wellness Center in Burbank. It was October 2013 when I met Fatima Bustos-Choy the wonderful teacher and owner. I instantly felt a connection to her. Just by conversing with her that first time I knew I was in the right place and it was where I needed to be. I have had issues with depression for numerous years and take medication but there seem to be something missing in my life. I attended a few classes and I absolutely loved it! I was so excited and felt so alive. My family & friends immediately noticed the positive change in me after I attended a few sessions. This is what had been missing in my life! Mind you, I had taken yoga classes for years and also had been a member of a unisex gym, but I never experienced anything like this. It was not just a physical workout but I experienced feelings that were emotional and spiritual. After class we enjoy a short tea session and I swear my time there has changed my whole outlook on life. I tell Fatima she is better than a therapist and that's how I feel about her. I have developed more confidence, joy, patience and an inner-peace. I joined for 2 years but I know to experience the comfort, joy and physical well-being that I feel now I have to make this a lifetime commitment. I am so grateful for discovering the Body & Brain Center and Fatima because it has definitely improved my life.

I have benefited in so many ways from Dahn Yoga at the Burbank Center. Fatima, our teacher, is incredible, and I am deeply grateful to her for her guidance. She is truly wise, gentle yet strong, and always inspiring and positive, loving and accepting of everyone. It's amazing to know such a happy person! When I first started Dahn Yoga two years ago, I was physically weak, extremely depleted and highly stressed. I had very little muscle tone and stamina, had pain and stiffness, and suffered from fibromyalgia during sleep hours. I was also very inhibited and disconnected from my body. Since then, with Fatima’s expert teaching, I have become strong, much more flexible, I rarely experience fibromyalgia, and best of all, I love to move, feel and enjoy my body now, such a new experience for me, at the age of 61! If I'm exhausted or stressed when class starts, I always leave feeling more energy, lighter, happier and stronger. I handle stress much better, and my anxiety level is lower. All the exercises and meditations help greatly to relieve the day’s stress, so it doesn't accumulate. Dahn Yoga and Fatima have changed my life. Going to the Burbank Center is the best part of my day.
