My children attended until June 2025, and then I pulled them because I wasn't thrilled about some of the management/leadership changes. My daughter was by far the oldest in her Kinder 1 class, and even though they assess for 20+ skills, she was told she couldn't move up to the next level until she could do a cartwheel. Prior to this, I never saw the instructors teaching cartwheels to the Kinder 1 class. After the management change, they did begin doing some cartwheel instruction but with the large size of the Kinder 1 classes, my daughter got to practice 1, maybe 2 times a week. It seemed pointless to keep her in the crowded class with much younger kiddos because there was no way she was learning to cartwheel in this class. And for the cost we were paying monthly, we couldn't justify keeping her in a class with little to no progress being made. I ended up pulling her and enrolling her at Just Tumble, where not only has she developed her cartwheel, but she learned how to do a handstand and forward/backwards roll with much better form.

We've considered going back, since it is so close to our home, but honestly there are so many gymnastics places in the area and many are willing to work with families to make sure the kiddos are getting that they need.

Original Review: My 2 and 5 year old both attend Byers and love it! We were at another local gymnastics for a few years before switching to Byers and are so happy we finally made the switch! The coaches are amazing with my daughter in the Kinder class! She has learned so much in such a short time. Shout out to the director Miss T, she’s extremely approachable and kind, my sons coach Miss. Kennedy who is amazing with the toddlers, and Miss Sammy who has taught my daughter so much.

We also had a birthday party there last weekend and it was so much fun! Many compliments from parents who attended and the kids had a great time. Most importantly it was easy and not stressful for me!! It was also pretty affordable compared to other birthday options now a days.

This place only cares about collecting money — not the kids or families.

I’m late writing this review, but I had a very disappointing experience with this place during the COVID period. My daughter was attending in their gymnastics for three years. From the beginning, I felt uncomfortable — her progress was minimal, and the coaches seemed unprofessional. Unfortunately, I was new to the area and didn’t have time to find a better option nearby.

The worst part came when COVID hit. We had already paid for a full month when they shut down, and we never received a refund. Then, when they reopened a couple of months later, they charged me AGAIN for a full month. When I asked about the month I had already paid for, they told me they’d give “make-up classes,” offering two classes a week instead of one.

That solution was unacceptable and very unreasonable. First of all, no one does that — it’s not standard practice. Second, I never agreed to continue with them, and my schedule didn’t allow for twice-a-week visits. I told them they cannot force me to attend more just to make up for their poor handling. When I challenged them and said I would escalate the issue, they were dismissive and unprofessional in their communication.

Eventually, they refunded only one month — but still forced me to complete the month I paid for before their shutdown, even though I didn’t intend to return.

Be extremely cautious with this business when it comes to money. They are not transparent or respectful, and customer service is not their priority.

When your kid doesn’t want to go anymore sometimes there is no heads up. They’re 9. Beyer’s doesn’t acknowledge that and will charge you for a full month extra even though your child won’t be attending because you weren’t able to give 4 week notice. That’s unfortunate. Find a place that won’t do that to you.

Beware: Byers gymnastics has an unfair cancellation policy. My child decided that she no longer wanted to go after only a few lessons and we were charged for one full month of attendance that she will not go to. Byers threatened collections for a bill if we did not pay for the month. They offered no proration or exceptions.

Forcing members to pay for lessons they cannot or will not attend is an unethical and nonsensical policy. Do not choose Byers.

My daughter has been at Byers for about a year and a half and I highly recommend it! The instructors are so patient with the kids. I am always amazed at the talent and progression of the students, my daughter included.

My oldest has been going to Byers for almost a year. Now, she can do cartwheel well, and she’s been trying to achieve new skills. Coaches are nice and patient. My little one has been going for a few months now, and she loves enjoying each class with her coach.

My 5 year old daughter loves Byers. She's been coming here since she was 3 years old. We drive all the way from the Arden area & it's worth it. The staff are great with kids. They have a parent's night out event every month. They have toddler time (free play) every Friday. Highly recommend.

Where do I start?
Everyone that works there is incredibly welcoming and the director Miss T, is exceptional! They know the kids by name and are very good at helping students within the class work on individual skills and pushing them to be their best. My daughter looks forward to her classes every week and we are even trying to Attend more classes. Her teacher, miss Leilani is patient & kind. This is not just a place to get your kids active, but also a place they can grow, make friends & get competitive!!

I brought my 6 yo daughter to Byers Citrus Heights about 3 months ago. my daughter has learned so much in her short time here. Her confidence has grown thru the roof. Her iinstructor Ella is GREAT especially with beginners very encouraging and thoughtful of her abilities. Plus she's super nice says my daughter lol. Great experience so far!! Highly recommend.

My 9 year old daughter simply wanted to learn how to do backflips, and it opened her to want to try gymnastics. This gym is great for kids. It keeps them active, gets them to strive for goals, and the coaches are really good with kids. It's a good place to introduce your kids to gymnastics, something I could never teach my kid.

My 5 year old daughter, after two years, has gained confidence, can do cartwheels, can climb a 15 foot rope and ring a bell.

My 2 year old son, burns out a ton of energy and is excited for every class.

I would rate higher if I could! 10/10
We recently stumbled across this absolute gem of a facility, and I hope many more parents have the chance to as well.
Especially ones with kids with higher support needs, like ours.
My son is autistic and has an *extremely* hard time in new places.
We have tried other gymnastic and activity places and it was far from a good experience.
But Let me tell you.
When I say this kid LIT up and enjoyed every moment!
We were SO taken back!
Huge smiles, giggles and non stop enjoyment!
Both of our boys enjoyed themselves sooo much.
All of the coaches and front desk staff were so effortlessly amazing, encouraging and patient with both of them.
Our family is *so* grateful for Beyers & their incredibly welcoming and inclusive staff.
We are beyond blessed to have found our forever gym!

This place is great when it's great, but you have to get a good teacher, which you mostly do. Too much turn around on teachers, and we lost some great ones, but I suppose it can't be helped. Our kid loves it!

I take my daughter to the citrus heights location and she loves it. Her teacher is so good with the kids and always a fun time. Update) kyleigh is now moving up and she is so happy and learning a lot. She loves it and wants to start competing.

It's a good facility with respect to the equipment and environment. The coaches are decent; however, no one regulates when parents bring in their ill children.
