I don't recommend it to be a member at this location at all; there are many issues. First of all, the management office, like Paula, whenever we report something, she don't respond. The steamroom has not been working functionally for almost a year now. Also the some machines were broken and it took a few months to be fixed. And when I spoke to her. She said it's working fine." It seems to me she's working from home!!

In my opinion, to fix this issue and keep this gym working and make money, to replace this manager. I hope the owner will not go bankrupt soon!

I was able to do a 7 day trial & when I asked if I could be provided with a tour it felt like it was a bother to the staff member. It’s a nice gym to say the least, but everything is so close together. Also all gyms have their peak hours & get really busy, but Chuze was uncomfortably one of the busiest gyms I’ve ever been to. Everyone is taking advantage of the $15 membership, but I definitely won’t be getting a membership here .

I love my Chuze experience and try to visit every day. It's like family. Everyone is so welcoming; the classes are awesome at getting me moving. The coaches are so encouraging and helpful at helping me with getting strong with balance and form. The best part is the recovery room which is full of massage beds, chairs, and many other amenities. Everything is very clean and works well. The floor gets very busy at certain times though, which a bigger place would be nice, but I use the classes the most. Thank you

I do like this gym a lot! I thought that there were age limits for kids to be in the weights room. There's been a kid, like around 8 to 10 years old working out. He is with adults, but it's distracting and doesn't feel right. Plus it's nice to have an adult only place to exercise. Lastly, I understand that pools come with issues, but a lot of us older folks use it for our health, and appreciate it when it's running well. Otherwise, our old bodies start to hurt.

Honestly, the worst customer service I could have received from Alecia when I called to Inquire about a 7-Day Free trial and information on the memberships. I was quickly cut off and reverted to "Walk In" for a tour instead of helping me schedule one and provide good customer service....What was more of a shocker is that they wont allow you to utilize the childcare to try out the gym, Even if I offered to pay for it to try it out. If your a parent looking for a gym with childcare I would check Out In-Shape, they let me do a whole week for free to make sure I was satisfied before committing.

This gym is relatively clean, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. However, I've been cat called twice at this gym and there's an absolute EPIDEMIC of men trying to enter the women's locker room. There are three signs which indicate that it's a women's locker room and yet these creeps still try and go in there and claim it's an accident. People who have been going to the gym for a while, and should know which locker room is which. Very toxically masculine environment and if it didn't have a machine that I love which is rare, I would have stopped going a year ago at least.

Edited to add that the front desk staff was very helpful and immediately addressed the issue when I told them about it. I'm just writing the review to warn other women about the clientele

I wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent experience. Unfortunately, I’ve encountered ongoing issues almost every day—whether it’s equipment not functioning properly or amenities being out of service.

I had switched my membership from another fitness center to Chuze, expecting a better experience. However, the frequent problems, including the Sonos system, Jacuzzi, and zero-gravity massage chairs being damaged or unavailable, have been quite disappointing.

I hope these concerns can be addressed soon, as I would love to continue using your facility with confidence in the quality of service.

The gym itself is great—clean, well-equipped, and in a convenient location. But the billing and membership management system is seriously flawed.

I canceled my membership in person and came back three times to ensure billing would stop. Despite this, they continued deducting payments from my bank account for months. Their records even show I visited about billing—but because someone failed to mark it as a cancellation, they’re still trying to charge me nearly $100.

I never used the gym during the time I was being charged, never received a bill or notice of any balance due, and didn’t find out until I tried to restart my membership last week. It’s unreasonable to hold customers accountable for poor internal documentation.

This wasn’t an isolated issue—many people had billing problems when the gym first opened. It’s disappointing that the same issues are still happening.

I’m open to paying reasonable fees—but not ones that result from the company’s lack of follow-through. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and puts better systems in place. I’d love to rejoin if trust in the process can be restored.

The concept of the gym is awesome! Two major downfalls, the hot tub is constantly not working and the movies in the cinema NEVER change. Every month it is filled with guy only movies like Batman, Antman, spider man, Star Wars, Indiana jones…. No comedies or anything to enjoy so I don’t use it anymore or any of my family when we go. This is my first gym membership, and overall, I’ve really enjoyed the experience! The gym is always very clean and the staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which makes a big difference. There’s a solid range of equipment available—from cardio machines to heavy weight machinery—so whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, there’s something for everyone.

One major downside, though, is how packed it always is. No matter the time or day, it’s consistently busy, likely because it’s the only location open right now. It can be frustrating if you’re hoping for a quieter workout environment.

As for amenities, the recovery room is a highlight for me—I love the hydro massage chairs, zero gravity chair, and infrared sauna. On the flip side, the wet area (pool, steam room, etc.) can be hit or miss—sometimes closed, not fully functional, or not as clean as the rest of the facility. Definitely something to consider if you’re thinking about upgrading your membership.

Looking forward to them opening another location in Sacramento to help spread out the crowd a bit!

UPDATE: Thank you, Chuze, for putting back the sign that explains the Circuit Training system. It helps to let us circuit users know you really do value us. However, your other members are still continuing to ignore the circuit rules, and when you tell them, either politely or directly, that they are using it wrong and that you are trying to complete your 30 minute workout, they either ignore you, tell you to wait, get nasty or (on rare occasions) they might thank you for letting them know. Most just don't get it. Please see below for possible solutions.

I have been a member since the gym opened and I do love the facility. It's clean and well maintained and the staff is friendly (even when I complain about the circuit training and people not using it correctly, which is the ONLY complaint I ever have). I started as an all-inclusive member with access to everything, but I soon found I had very limited time to work out so I chose the basic plan for circuit training. It is 10 machines, well laid out in a sort of circular pattern with each machine numbered and each one works different muscles (the machines are laid out in a specific order for a reason). If everyone uses the circuit correctly, you can get a good workout in 30 minutes by going around twice. There is a timer and you can really start on any machine (as long as you don't interrupt the user next to that machine by staying on it until the next green light) but you go in a clockwise direction, 60 seconds on the machine, then 30 seconds to switch to the next one. The timer has a green light for 60 seconds, red light for 30 seconds to indicate when you are working and when you rest as you switch machines. The timer is located very high and is probably not loud enough.

People who do not want to work the circuit and follow the timer are constantly coming over and using the machines, sitting on them past the timer cycle, often on their phones in between reps. It is extremely rude. They will go to a machine and take it over for several minutes. It tells others that this is okay and many of these folks do not realize it is a circuit. This stops someone like myself and others who want to do their full workout in 30 minutes as intended by the circuit training system. When you tell them you are doing the circuit they are either rude and tell you to go to a different machine (which interrupts your workout and that of others following you in the circuit) or they sometimes are nice enough to get off the machine as they truly did not realize that there is a timer and rules.

I and other circuit users have complained to the managers at this location many times. There used to be a sign in the middle of the circuit but it was ignored. Now the sign is on the wall between the bathrooms and even less conspicuous.

I just want to do my 30 minute workout. Now you have raised the prices and nothing has been done. There are plenty of machines these "squatters" can use that do not disrupt circuit users, but nothing stops them from taking over these machines and interrupting the circuit system. The managers say to go up to the front desk and tell them when this happens, but that obviously would also interupt your workout and you'd only have to do it again after the staff member comes over to tell the "squatters" to move and then returns to the front desk. Management says these people are just being rude and I keep saying that most of the time, even if they are rude, they just don't know the rules about the circuit training system. The only way to preserve the circuit for what it was intended is to:

1) lower the timer,
2) rope the area off, and
3) put messages on each machine
4) put a big sign that says Circuit Users only

Planet Fitness has their circuit training area sectioned off. I'm tempted to switch gyms but it is further away from me and less convenient.

I joined Chuze to use the pool. It has been a mediocre experience.
Well it is May 29 and the pool is not kept up. The staff and/or management can not seem to keep the pool and spa clean. It starts to get cloudy and no one knows how to add needed chemicals to keep it safe for use. I have seen a outside pool guy tending the pool but it seems he is not a daily tender to the pool.
Anyway I hope things can improve.
The pool has not been useable since May 22.

On Monday Memorial Day , I visited Chuze Fitness. Before coming in, I called the front desk — I’ve gotten into the habit of checking ahead because it’s common for amenities like the steam room, hot tub, or pool to be out of order. I was told that everything was working except the pool.

After using the steam room, I went to the hot tub. The water was warm, but the jets weren’t working — no bubbles at all. Since I was soaking wet, I didn’t want to walk across the gym like that to the front desk. So I did the logical thing: I called and asked if someone could come check it.

Eventually, a manager named Lorenzo showed up. Instead of offering help, the first thing he said — sharply — was that I shouldn’t call again, that I should “come to the front desk” because staff are busy with other members. I tried to calmly explain that I was wet and wasn’t trying to cause trouble — just asking someone to verify the equipment that was supposed to be working.

Lorenzo checked and confirmed that the water was hot but the jets weren’t working. So I was right — the hot tub wasn’t functioning, despite being told otherwise over the phone.

What I still don’t understand is this: why is it a problem for a member — dripping wet — to call and ask for help? Why is it too much to ask for someone from the staff to take 30 seconds to walk over and check equipment? Isn’t that part of the job?

As a paying member, I expect a basic level of respect and support. Instead, I was made to feel like asking for assistance was a burden. Management at Chuze Fitness needs to seriously address this attitude. If this is how members are treated when they follow the rules and ask for help, that’s a real concern.

I would not recommend this place—especially for families with children. The Kids Club is staffed entirely by young, inexperienced employees who don’t seem equipped to handle children, particularly those with special needs. If your child isn’t perfectly behaved or has a disability, they may be suspended simply to make things easier for the staff. In our case, I wasn’t even notified of an issue until a full week after the incident. When I finally received a call, the woman explained that they can only accommodate children with disabilities depending on how busy they are. My son has severe ADHD, and this kind of treatment is completely unacceptable.

This gym is an absolute disaster. I called on Thursday to make sure the steam room was working, and they assured me it was. I showed up — steam room’s shut down, the suit dryer is out of order, and the showers are broken. This isn’t the first time. Back in April, they closed the steam room, pool, and hot tub for 20 days, but nothing’s fixed.

I was excited to hear about this new gym opening up near me a couple of years ago especially with the amenities that was going to be offered hot tub, pool, and steamroom along with other amenities. When the gym opened up unfortunately the only part of the gym that was ready to use was the weight lifting area of the gym the wet area that was being advertised prior to opening wasn't ready to be used due to construction issues for another few months later and being that I prefer doing aqua aerobics which was why I was excited about the amenities that the gym was going to be offering.
Eventually when the pool was finally opened everything was great for a while unfortunately the hot tub wasn't working all the time which is one of the main reason why I became a member to help relieve some pain from old injuries by soaking in the hot tub. I attempted to go to the gym around the 1st of April and saw a sign on the door stating that the pool and hot tub area will be closed for remodeling until the 20th of April and I found out today that the wet area is still not available for use and they don't know exactly when it'll be opened back up but I imagine that the price is gonna go up being that a newly remodeled pool along with a hot tub that's not always working is worthy of a price increase in the minds of corporate management

The gym is great overall, and the trainers are amazing! The atmosphere is nice, the equipment is good, and the classes are well-organized.

However, there is one big issue—the payment system. They only send you one email with your payment date when you first sign up. After that, there are no reminders, and if you miss the payment day, you get charged a $10 fee.

I also had trouble accessing my account and asked for help, but they couldn’t fix it. Because of this, I can’t set up autopay since I don’t even know my login and password. The ones I used during registration don’t work, and they couldn’t help me recover them. This is the only downside, but it’s a pretty big one.

Their pricing is ridiculous and you can’t even bring a buddy paying 30 a month. They close sections off early so you are not getting your moneys worth. The brand Chuze Fitness needs to limit the amount of people in the gym, because they will allow it to be over capacity. They say they offer all these amenities but then always have the “team trust” room closed. “Yoga room” is always closed unless you come in the morning for a session. Book quick because guess what fills quick. Cycling room is closed. You’d think with the gym being over capacity they’d have those rooms at least open for use when it’s just empty. I will not spending my money here no longer. If you are looking for a gym please go to Planet fitness or 24 hours or EOS or in shape because this is absolutely ridiculous. Not worthy of one star.

The employees are some of the kindest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met in my life. The front staff is so wonderful and friendly, and everyone greets you and says goodbye with a smile. The amenities and facility is extremely nice and there is a great variety, even with a basic plan. This is not your typical gym at all and it is great for beginners to working out. I love Chuze dearly and my only regret is not signing up sooner!!! ❤️🏋️

Overall, the gym is pretty good and modern, with all new equipment. It's got a big 25m swimming pool, an interesting cardio zone with a cinema, and a large selection of exercise machines. The only drawback is that there are quite a lot of people on weekdays in the evening. In my opinion, there could be more benches for bench press (there are only two).

Love the atmosphere and everyone is so nice. It brings me peace that I can drop my kids off at their kids club inside the gym so I can work out and still be close enough to check on them mid my workout while they are getting used to me dropping them off at a new place.

Been a member for two years. Team training WAS amazing. However lately several trainers have quit and the replacements are not great to say the least. I have emailed twice about my issues and no one replies. It is a boring class now with no guidance like the previous instructors. Horrible music, no education, and low attendance considering it’s January. I’m considering leaving to follow the great trainers I’ve come to love.

I work with a special needs client and we frequent this gym. My client got struck in the bathroom and I'm female and he is male so I couldn't go in after him. The team was very helpful especially Smiley who went in and found him for me. Thank you so much Citrus Heights Chuze team!

Working out wise the gym is okay but there’s always machines broken. The smoothie bar is closed a lot of the time depending on when you go. The staff is not well trained and gives false information to members when signing up. I was told my membership would cancel once my year was up. They took out an annual fee along with my membership fee upon signing up. Once the year mark came it did not expire they took out another annual fee and my membership fee. When I called to find out why that is and if I cancel get refunded my money since I’m not going to be there another year theres no reason they should take out an annual charge. The guy I spoke with said they can not refund me my money even though it was a mess up on their end due to staff giving out false info and clearly not being trained properly but if I cancel now they won’t charge me next month. Total B.S! I feel robbed!! Honestly not worth the membership or the money. Planet fitness is better

Been going to Chuze about 6 months. Reasonable dues, great location, everything I need for a complete work out. And I look forward to every workout because of the wonderful recovery zone; the infrared sauna is the bomb and the smoothie bar is awesome. The icing on the cake is the courteous and helpful staff. I highly recommend Chuze Fitness.

Edit: I had written a review but for some reason it didn’t post it so I’m rewriting it.

I just got back into the gym after having kids and so far I love it here. I’ve been going for about a month and I take my kids to the daycare here. The kids staff is always so friendly and I feel comfortable putting my children in. Also the monthly fee is very reasonable. I attend classes and I love the wide range of options they provide. It keeps me on my toes with being able to try out many different things that may be outside of my comfort zone.

The gym looks great I’ve been loving it, the only problem is that everyone be on their phones and u have to wait an hour or 2 to be able to use any of the equipments. Nobody comes to the gym to train or exercise but to use their phones. If you’re going to be on your phone the whole time please open a gym at your house….

Been coming to this gym since they opened. I still am and I like what they offer. However the cleanliness of the place has been an issue for a while. Floors in infrared sauna look like they never get cleaned, women’s showers always covered with clumps of hair on the floors no matter what time of the day it is. Looks like they don’t clean the shower floors after closing just moving the curtains. I think management doesn’t do a good job and I’ve heard a lot of complaints on the manager there. Hopefully the cleaning issue will be resolved soon. Here’s the pictures of the shower how it looks like

One of the nicest gyms I've ever been to. Everything looks all clean, and this chain of gyms offers amenities I haven't seen offered at any others, such as the Infrared Sauna and Chuze Cinema. Additionally, the machines and benches at this location are all in good condition.

I only wish there were more locations since the only two located in Sacramento are all a bit of a drive away from where I reside.

I've been coming here for quite some time now, and I enjoy being able to work out as well as use the amenities that they have to offer. Customer service seems a bit off when walking in from time to time as I notice a bit of awkward judgment as someone who is not close or friends with the staff as other individuals are who seem to receive higher and more positive treatment towards.

Large and spacious. Great gym with awesome amenities for such a reasonable price and yearly renewal fee. Love it. Parking at certain times can be a bit of a challenge if you have none placard disabilities.

When I started here it was GREAT! Couldn’t say better things about this gym… Then it all started going downhill… I had pictures taken of me in the men’s locker room and when I told the guy at the front counter and said “you just posted the guy on your facebook page!” And showed him to them, they immediately became dismissive and ended the conversation…. For some reason several months after attempting to go back and feel comfortable after that experience…which I failed at several times. I decided to push myself to go back because I still have a membership… it looks like the bathrooms had not been cleaned since I was there several months before, a lot of the equipment wasn’t working, it seemed dingy and smelly, compared to how it usually was. It’s amazing how fast a gym can go downhill.

Anymore, It’s just becoming an overall miserable experience to go to this gym . It feels like a high school locker room and apparently it’s just like one, because anything goes as long as your friends with the people at the counter. I still have the email interaction between me and the manager who completely told me to quit my membership because I was uncomfortable with how everything had gone down and was completely dismissive of everything I said… I wouldn’t go back here if you valued your personal security or privacy, they don’t seem to care one way or another. I’d rather go to a Planet Fitness near a soup kitchen in the deepest part of the Tenderloin in San Francisco than go back to Chuze.

And the jack wagon who responded to this didn’t read my review or they’d already know management blew me off. Nice political response though.

SCAM ALERT! I've been a member for almost 2 years, upgrated to the highest membership half a year ago so I can bring my baby to childcare while working out. Whenever I came in, there was no space in childcare or they didn't have staff' probably because it's only open super limited hours. Anyways, I pretty much didn't get to use the membership, I stopped wasting my time to try to go because of the childcare situation there. When I came in to cancel, because we are moving to another state, they told me I had a year commitment... instead of just upgrading, they started me on a new membership and I had to pay a $50 cancelation fee. Basically this gym and that top membership is a scam. Don't do it if you need childcare. Terrible customer service and no respect for their customers.
