I am sure I speak for ALL the people.
The machines are soo old, and many often are broken for weeks. Just because these amazing people don’t complain, is no reason to neglect this location. Compared to other gyms this gym doesn’t have much to offer. It’s super cramped, has no showers. Has ZERO glute focused machines like hip thrust machines or anything along the lines. Too many treadmills and elliptical, replace a few of them with more advanced glute machines. But ALL old machines should be replaced, so people can safely workout. It’s not safe to have a weight holding a seat in place because it’s broken. There is a single pull up machine, with degraded handles that make workouts hard.
I absolutely love the community. And would hate leaving this gym because of lack of adequate equipment.

Absolute worst customer experience. I came with a friend who helped me with some exercises and they kicked us out claiming he can't be there as a "coach". Refused to show rules stating that friends can't help each other. At least they gave me a refund otherwise it would have been 0 stars

I asked to cancel my subscription and the attendant at the physical store said that everything was canceled and that I didn't need to worry. After a few months I noticed that they were deducting the monthly fee that I had canceled from my account. I called and they informed me that I had 3 accounts with the same name, phone number and address and that I had not canceled all 3. I asked to cancel my account the first time and they informed me that they had canceled it! How am I supposed to know that I have 3 accounts with the same information... they made this mistake and I am paying for it. I was informed that I will not receive a refund for this mistake of theirs and I did not even use the gym. BE CAREFUL! THIS PLACE ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY!

Convenient and affordable. Small with few frills but definitely worth what you pay for. I have 2 complaints. 1. When I got my tour before joining I was told they were getting a hip thrust machine which was a big selling point but it's been 8 months and still nothing. 2. I swear they play the same Playlist in the same order every day. I have heard Yeah! by usher at 7:30 AM almost every single day for 8 months. At first it was fun, then it was funny, and now I think a little part of me dies each time it comes on.

Surprisingly well equipped gym. It has ample machines, free weights and cardio equipment and everything is well maintained and cleaned. This is a budget friendly gym, so bring your own towel and lock if you plan to store things in the locker. There's a small changing room next to the lockers as well. The staff here is so friendly and supportive! They’re always hosting different challenges with prizes like new TVs, training, etc. they have so many amenities like a hydro massage bed, light therapy room, tons of free weights and quality machines. I’ve done personal training here for about a year and worked with a couple of different trainers and they’re all so knowledgeable and fun to work with at a very affordable price.

I’ve been going to fitness 19 San Mateo for several years. This year I actually signed up for Persiobao training classes. Their staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and very customer service oriented.

Hailey, Tony, Kara, Marcus and George are some of the staff members always willing to go out their way to help.

Definitely recommend this gym and it’s very affordable.

small gym but the staff have a big impact. I’ve been training with Shawn and he has been nothing short of amazing . He keeps the workouts challenging and motivating. Shawn has a wealth of knowledge and is willing to share with his clients.
Jordan is very helpful as well. He continues to make sure the gym os cleaned and sanitized throughout his shifts.
If you are comfortable with an smaller but affordable place to workout this is the place for you !

Went for first time because this is the only F19 close to me open because of no indoor gyms. However everything so close together. Barely social distancing. Treadmills lined up next to each other? Good size budget gym with adequate equipment. Friendly staff that also keep the gym clean, however no one seems to wipe the equipment. This can be an issue. To the large bald dude who has lost of lot of weight— it’s impressive and keep at it. However, please don’t leave your leftover fat and sweat on the equipment for others to mop up after you.

No towel service or showers, but remember this is a budget gym. There are lockerettes for leaving your stuff and a couple of private change rooms. Bring your own lock, preferably not a ghetto one like the picture ...

The WiFi situation is bad, particularly at the end of the gym opposite to the main entrance. It would be good to put an additional WiFi router to boost the signal. The bathroom is clean.

The stationary bikes don’t oscillate between different tensions. It would be good to fix them. They get a lot more use than the recumbent bikes that could ideally be replaced by more stationary bikes. Plenty of treadmills and other cardio machines.

Not much eye candy at this gym... People generally mind their own business when working out. Some dudes just do bench press and dead-lifts everyday which is weird but they don’t progress and it shows. Users are friendly, don’t hog the machines and don’t bother anyone. Most users put the weights back and are respectful.

There is also supervised childcare service. It doesn’t look like they clean the (small) playroom or shampoo the carpet often, but the girl working at childcare seems nice and friendly.

Management should consider taking over the adjacent empty space and make this a larger gym.

Prices are reasonable: $9.95/month for basic membership; $19.95/month for membership plus unlimited hydromassage and tanning bed usage, one free personal training session, and can bring guests Friday-Sunday.
Gets busy (like most gyms) in the evenings, but mornings are not very busy.
