The esthetics of the atmosphere and feeling that Martina and those who helped her have designed and co-created at Gaia Yoga lends itself to experiencing a rich and meditative immersion in the practice. My classes there are built into my weekly schedule. I have resonated with every teacher whose class I have attended, each one unique in their style of teaching and all highly experienced!

Meredith's Hatha Flow is a perfect blend of stillness and (mindful) movement. A nice way to transition to evening.

Anne Rene is an amazing, challenging instructor. I have practiced yoga for many years and she brings out a new playfulness in an advanced practice. She has a deep understanding of the asanas, related spirituality and has great music!

The practice of yoga is not so much about exercise and stretching as it is about mindfulness and community building. I spent a month in Bali practicing yoga and mediation every day for 30 days. This is by far the only yoga studio where itβs truly a practice of yoga and not a mere βyoga exercises.β

The experience in Gentle Yoga with Jen Cuebas is always extremely restful, yet my body feels looser and more attune afterward.

The Gentle Yoga class was just what I needed. Wonderful stretches and although gentle, it was effective in softening some tight parts of my body. The class was challenging enough and I left feeling as though I had a soothing workout.

I've attended both Gentle Yoga and, most recently, Restorative Yoga. Instructors have been knowledgeable and effectively manage different levels of experience. Looking forward to more sessions!

Katharine is an incredible teacher who brings a unique blend of elements to her classes. I adore the seamless flow of the sessions, which are enriched with pranayama exercises, soulful chanting, and profound insights into yoga philosophy. Each class feels like a holistic journey for the mind, body, and spirit.

Katharine's class is exquisitely designed, thoughtfully and accessibly leading us to a peak pose. Combined with a dharma talk thread throughout the practice, sprinkles of humor, and beautiful chanting, this is truly one of the best yoga classes I've experienced in my 15 years practicing in the Bay Area!

Among the various teachers, the instruction is consistent and well communicated, both in studio and in the remote on-line classes. It was not difficult for a relative beginner like me to catch-on and immediately benefit. More recently, the last four classes I attended with instructors Miya, Bethany, Ashley and Leo were terrific. Miya employs soundtracks she has recorded and live instruments she plays, both of which are well matched to the movements selected for each class. Bethany's classes are consistently top-notch and delivered professionally without political dimension or content. Ashley does a great job of voicing how to achieve various postures as they are being taught (one can't always see the instructor from some positions), and she offers adjustments for students who are open to being physically touched to accomplish adjustments. Leo has an approachable, light, welcoming, self-deprecating and relaxed attitude, as well as a good sense of humor as he conducts class. In the past, I've appreciated both Christina's and owner Martina's classes when my schedule fit their classes. The instructors generally emphasize gratitude, community, and the importance of individuality in each student's practice of Yoga.

Spacious studio and truly a great community that's made me feel really welcome. I tore my ACL and meniscus recently and having the classes here as an outlet to still move and exercise has been such a blessing.

Iβve been to Gaia yoga three times so far - once for Yin Restorative (focus on mindfulness and meditation), once for Gentle Flow (gentle stretching), and once for Hatha (core work). The instructors are kind. They encourage you to try new things but also are very understanding if you canβt do one of the poses. I am injured and was worried I wouldnβt make it through the class, but it was great.

I've been once so far and am really looking forward to being a regular. My instructor was the studio owner and she was very kind, welcoming and effective as an instructor. The environment is calm and welcoming and there is free convenient parking. Good vibes all around!
I will note that the classes (that I've attended) aren't particularly challenging which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you're looking for. If you're looking for power yoga, something that gets your heart rate up or has you working on arm balances and inversions, you probably want to go with another studio. But if you're looking for a beginner to intermediate level yoga where you can stretch and center yourself, this is a lovely place to do that.

Kippy always pays close attention to all parts of the body with breathing and stretching, which always heal my different aches and pains. She also has a well planned out lesson with a continuous flow of movements. I always enjoy Kippy's lessons and truly hope that she will continue these 3 a week Gentle Classes. Pam
I always enjoy the flow and workout that Kippy provides each and every class she teaches. Pam 6/5/2021

The instructors at Gaia are amazing. They have been my saving grace during the pandemic and know how to offer an excellent yoga class virtually. I know this requires more time and energy to set up Zoom and get us into the class. I appreciate that extra care and the attention we get in the virtual setting. They still know what my body needs even without me in the "room."

The teachers at Gaia Yoga are really amazing people and are also very knowledgeable about the body, the yoga practice, and so much more. The owner Martina Chavez is also an advocate for social justice and understands how important it is to dismantle systemic racsim. She leads the conversation with all at her studio, students and teachers alike.

Gaia is my favorite yoga studio in the bay area. I always feel like I'm coming home whenever I go to a class. Each class is very connected ot the traditional essence of yoga vs. the westernized version that we can come across so often. The space is beautiful, serene, simple and elegant. All the instructors are wonderful but I have to give a few special shoutouts: to Grace, for being my favorite instructor (like ever) and always holding such a grounded, flowing practice. To Kippy, for being the first instructor I experienced at Gaia and having the best Hatha flows! And to Martina for creating such a lovely community through this beautiful studio and sharing your heart with the world. Love this place and its people.

There are so many ways to do yoga these days, so why go to a studio? Step one foot into Gaia Yoga and you'll have your answer.
What a beautiful, serene location. Not only is the studio full of amazing energy, but also an amazing community of yogis!
Martina, the studio's owner, has one of the warmest hearts I know. It is evident her beauty and grace is abundantly shared with anyone that comes in for a class, whatever your yoga goals may be. I would highly recommend Gaia yoga whether you are a beginner or a pro.
