Had to cancel my membership due to health issues. Submitted all paperwork required via email per HOTWORX request and to this day I’m still getting charged for my membership. I’ve had to report them for fraudulent activity to my bank account and request new cards. Originally the email correspondence for the initial cancellation request was a good and healthy back-and-forth. Once I submitted all my paperwork radio silence from HOTWORX.

I had used HOTWORX in the past at a different city location before relocating to Sacramento. In my opinion, that locations equipment and staffing was better as I had no issues canceling my membership when I moved to Sacramento. They did charge more for than the Sacramento location for their mats, towels and other accessories but their membership price was less and customer service was better.
I would still recommend HOTWORX, but maybe not this location.

If you look at my review history, I am more apt to give compliments than complain. As a matter of fact, I think this is my first bad review of any business. I feel like the consumer should know about this policy. I have paid 12 months on this membership which means I have honored my contract. I needed to cancel so I called the studio a few times starting on the 5th, no answer. Finally reached someone a couple of days later who told me I needed to come in to cancel. By the time I get there it is today the 10th. She tells me it is a 30 day cancel policy which means I will be billed another $64 on the first. Wouldn't let me speak to management about at least prorating. A 30 day cancel is just that right? NOT A 30 day + A WHOLE.EXTRA MONTH! I upheld my contract so at least connect me with someone who can prorate me. Wow, I feel like I have been cheated. Beware, cancel on the 1st or get burned!

I like that it’s open 24 hours and that you can see in advance if others have booked the sauna so you can book one by yourself if you’d prefer.

I was on the plan with my family but after not going for more than a few months we decided to cancel. The primary member on the plan went in to cancel and was told that she would have to pay a $99 cancellation fee and then the additional members just needed to come in an sign that they wanted to cancel. What she WAS NOT told was that each member would also have to pay $99 to cancel. This is ridiculous. Paying $300 in total to cancel one membership is extortion at its best. Not to mention that the manager Orpheus was extremely rude to her when she went in to cancel - questioning if she actually tried to lose weight and why she didn’t just try harder - who says something like that to someone! The overall vibe I am walking away with is that I will never try another Hotworx studio again - I understand trying to get people to stay with their membership but don’t do it by making people feel bad about themselves. Unprofessional and just all around rude. If you are looking to be gaslit then this is the place for you. They will sign you up in a hurry but not give you all the details. Extortion, gaslighting and unprofessionalism at its best.

UPDATE - went back in to sign off that I wanted to cancel and the owner was there this time. I walked in and stood in the entrance while he sat at one of the tables eating and didn’t say anything to me. I finally asked if anyone was working and he replied with “um kind of” - ummm ok. He asked me what he could help me with and I said I needed to sign that I wanted to cancel. He proceeded to give me a hard time about cancelling and asked me how I could have time to go to In Shape (which I have had a membership to for years) but didn’t have time for Hotworx. Some of the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. I guess I can see where the other management gets their attitudes from.

I can’t believe I am saying this but I love this gym! It has worked wonders on how I feel, and, for someone who hated working out I truly enjoy coming! The facility is clean and well kept, staff very friendly especially Piper, and open 24/7 makes it more than convenient for me!

Updated review- I added family members and we collectively decided to cancel membership I, being the member whose name it was under went in to cancel per policy. I was given a very hard time, asked if I really tried to lose weight and made to feel bad for canceling, definitely not an easy process. I was told my family had to go in to sign the cancellation form. I am now being told each added family member will have to pay $99 instant cancellation fee. Extortion at the Horrworx is how they should explain the cancellation process!

Moral of story pricing for canceling is unclear but you will be gaslit and told you were told pricing even though I was not because paying $79 and $39 twice for two added people a month and then offered just one $99 immediate cancellation sounded too good to be true I was not told $99 per person for immediate cancellation because I would have done the math and stuck it out for $60 days- just be warned if you want to cancel they will guilt trip you and if you have added family gotta bring entire crew in to sign off and may get bamboozled like I did. Very unclear on the charges for added family, and no mention of the cost for canceling added family in FAQ.

Orpheus who is the manager didn’t know policies and costs for canceling it appears I was the first to do it. CANCELING shouldn’t be a hassle and I’m still a customer so you should act as if you care. There’s al lot of 5 star reviews but wait till people try to cancel.

I am in love with this place. I love the convenience of the app to reserve your workout session and every session is limited to 3 people, all sessions are no longer than 30 minutes, but you sweat like crazy in the infrared rooms!!! My wife signed me up for Hot Worx after seeing some friends had been going here for several months and saw positive results, with this program and a good diet. I was a little skeptical at first, but after going for the first time, I was impressed. I met the owner (Manuel) and he was extremely patient, friendly, and helpful. My wife had previously interacted with Piper and loved her. I was impressed with cleanliness of the facility and if you’re looking for more of a private place to work out with benefits of using a dry sauna at the same time, this is the spot. The sauna’s use heat and infrared, and the workouts are amazing. I enjoyed the coaching via cctv, and variety of workouts. They also have free weights and a cable machine if you’re interested. I highly recommend Hot Worx, and the benefits of the sauna are amazing. I sleep better and feel better.

I’ve always been a member of traditional gyms and sports clubs but I am very satisfied with my decision to switch things up. From the moment my daughter and I were welcomed in to tour the studio, Piper was kind and helpful in guiding us through the benefits of becoming a member. If you are self conscious working out in front of others or don’t know what to do in a gym then Hotworxx is for you. I was sold when I discovered that when I book a workout I have the sauna to myself or with a friend or family member. The workouts are on a tv screen and fairly private. I love that the longer workouts are 40 minutes and the HIIT workouts are 15 minutes. I definitely always leave feeling like I’ve had a good workout. The bonus part is I never feel too sore to go back the next day which is due to the infrared technology. I’ve had days that I worked out at home and the next day felt very sore. After having a session the next day at Hotworxx I find that I’m considerably less sore the next day. I also love the ability to do one of their workouts at home if I can’t make it to a Hotworxx location. Also bonus they are open 24/7 which works for my crazy long hours work schedule.

This is my first time trying any type of hot Yoga/workout session, OMG It is one of the best workouts ever!!! I have not been disappointed, one bit! I've done hot yoga, hot blast elliptical, row machine, and all of this is done in a short 15-minute session, Yoga is longer but you burn so many calories. I don't like gym's with a ton of people, the small sauna pods are perfect for me & 2 others that's it! Definitely try out a session. You will be hooked guarantee it!!
