Un gimnasio con grandes entrenadores y boxeadores con los pies en la tierra, pero sobre todo personas humildes y de buen corazΓ³n. Gran experiencia, y especial agradecimiento a Carlos.

Called to get information about the classes and the receptionist was rude and short. Work on customer service if you guys want more people joining your gym.

Both of my sons go to the house of boxing and it is always a great experience for them and myself. What the house of boxing is doing for all the kids at the gym is going to be a life long experience for them thanks to the coachesπŸ‘πŸ‘Š.

The Staff are amazing like no where else. Willing to help build you up and make you family. Understand name of the House ...of boxing, it's like home. The new mural by Ground-floor murals is insane and iconic. The front paint job with pinstriping is classy. You have got to go check this place out for yourself. Ask for Coach Carlos, you'll love him. This is a top tier boxing gym. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I've been coming to the gym here and there... but I am never disappointed. Lots of bag work and partner drills. You are going to learn something new and applicable you can use real world each time! I highly recommend this gym and any of the coaches. They have been in the game for a long time and are happy to help anyone in their boxing journey.

My kid really enjoys taking the boxing class. It helps to reduce stress levels and release all that kid energy. The group size is decent. Kids can go 5x/week if they want. Great monthly price. You can buy certain gear there if necessary. They have a chiller filled with water or Gatorade for $1/ea if you forget to bring your own. There's a couple of sofas and a long wooden bench along the windows for seating. Parking is tight but there's usually spots on the residential streets. There's a liquor store, coffee shop, pizza joint, local grocery store, and some other small shops across the street if you need sustenance before, during, or after training.

While the class may have a fun game of Simon Says, the kids come to work hard and push themselves. The coaches enjoy what they do and the kids pick up on that.

I was just browsing Boxing Gyms in the San Diego area and then I saw this one. Great gym and great people. The Barragan's have done a'lot for the kids and the community and are very humble people. I used to train as a kid many many years ago with Junior Robles, and then with Robert Coons, Archie Moore and Rudy Elias, and during that time had the chance to spar a little at the Barragan's gym at their home in the 90's. These people have very knowledgeable skills and wisdom. If I lived closer I'd ask if I can help them train also since I have old school training abilities also. Highly Recommended!

Hands down the best boxing gym in San Diego! They really emphasize on fundamentals and teach the sweet science to the first time beginner all the way to the world ranking professional. If your looking for a no glitter facility with all the benefits of professional instruction and old school boxing atmosphere, this is the place for you. The Petro Family.

In response to the Anon Review, yes the group classes tend to be large, and that does limit the 1:1 time you might receive from an instructor. But that is the nature of a group class--which is primarily an exercise class. If a student is looking for more personalized 1:1 attention, there are private lessons offered and those can be tailored to what you are looking for.

And yes, the classes may seem to become routine. But that's how most of the fighting arts are taught: repetition, repetition, repetition. There's really so many punching combinations you can throw in boxing. The trick is throwing that jab, or that straight right, or that hook with perfection--or as close as you can get to perfection.

Really, the best way you can learn after building up your reflexes and endurance, and picking up technique from watching the other more experienced boxers--and instruction from the trainers--is to spar. And sparring is available to students whom the instructors feel are ready. And they ease you into it--they work with you to help you learn more.

The trainers here, Carlos, Sr.; Carlos, David and others, are a library of boxing experience and knowledge. I try to soak up as much as I can every time I go!

Lets start by saying this gym has done an awesome job in training boxers and giving to the community. But there are some negatives people should know about. There are 4 trainers. Sr, Carlos, David & Lety. These guys have been in the boxing world for a while so they do know what there doing, the problem is the boxing classes are so routined that after a month of being a part of the class, you can do it yourself at home . Some info about the coaches: David Is a young coach training and fighting pro, his routines are primarily consistent. Coach carlos is an old school boxing coach where routines may or may not change. Sr is an old school coach where he gives lots of encouragement to the boxers and trains pro boxers. Lety is a excellent 3c coach that gives lots of motivation to her trainees. I Suggest that you should join this gym already knowing about the fundamentals of boxing. The classes are too big and theres not enough time and coaches to give 1 on 1 attention to you to teach you all that. Ive been at this gym for two months but ive heard that they used to actually teach you everything before they let you join the rest of the class with the bags. When I first joined all they tought me was one twos and then put me on the bags to copy the rest of the class. If the coaches do read this I suggest that they give more attention to their boxers even if there joining for a month or day. Some positives: There great people, Everyone is treated like family, and you do have fun.
