My 50th birthday was fast approaching and I wanted to loose 10# of fat and gain 5# of muscle. I had zero experience with doing something like this so I asked Jason for some help. He was awesome! He met me the same day I reached out to him, put together a program for me, connected me with dexa scan to track progress, mentored me on nutrition and followed up to keep me motivated. Jason was super responsive and professional and knew just what I needed to do. 44 days later, Dexa confirmed that I lost 10.2# of fat and gained 5.8# of muscle following Jasons guidance! I’ve known Jason for a few years now. We trained together for two years and then I moved further south from his location. I have to say that he is one of the BEST trainers that I have ever experienced. Ever. What can I say about him? What makes him stand out amongst all the other trainers? Several things...

First, he’s knowledgeable. He actually spends his free time staying current on fat loss and muscle hypertrophy research. Better than that, he shares his knowledge with his clients! If you’re the type of person who wants to enter the gym and do what you’re told, you can do that and you’ll be happy. BUT if you’re like me and you want to know the WHYs of what you’re doing, Jason encourages that! He wants his clients to be full participants in their progress, on every level.

Second, FORM IS KEY! He will make sure that each and every exercise is done with proper form and he’ll stop you if he sees form breaking down. Why is this important? Well, we’re all training to look and feel better. I’m a 42 year old mom of 2. I don’t have time for injuries in my life. I want results that are SAFE! Jason is a stickler for form and mastery. This doesn’t mean you’ll be working with 2lb weights everyday. This means that you’ll progress in weights and reps and overall time under tension at a rate that is safe and specific to YOU. And that will keep you getting leaner and stronger for a long time to come. As a former athlete, it’s so important to have someone that judges me to keep all of this in perspective.

Lastly, he walks the walk. He looks AMAZING! That should be a no-brainer but unfortunately there are trainers that haven’t mastered their own fat loss and physique goals. I want to train with someone that takes their own physical health and goals seriously.

Ok, last point: He’s a nice guy. Not super gabby, so he won’t spend the entire session running his mouth. Instead, he’s a quiet and firm presence that will give you the reassurance that he knows what he’s doing and will get you where you need and want to be!

Update: I’m sooo happy with the results I have. For the first time in 15 years, I’m seeing muscle tone on my legs and my body is changing! Jason is soooo awesome. Highest standards and always on my side, remembering my goals to help me achieve them. Woo woo!

The short version: Yes, he gets results (and quickly I'm thrilled to add), yes he's the real deal, yes, it's money well spent and yes you'll be glad you did. And he's so supportive you won't even dread going to your sessions.

Long version:
I've had a lot of trainers in the past 10-15 years. Maybe 10? So I have a bit of context and perspective.
He's detail oriented - I've worked with him in a group training situation with multiple coaches, as well as privately and he is always the coach watching every subtle twitch and nuance of movement to get the maximum from it.
I love training with him one on one for the obvious benefits of having his full concern. He's super present and available.

He listens and seeks to understand me - my goals, concerns, questions quirks etc.

He is strict in terms of pushing limits, but never willing to risk injury or push without knowing what he's asking.

He's very committed to results. He has given me so much extra information outside our sessions to help me get results and boost my progress. Progress is his goal.

Continuing education - seems he is always off learning more.

He's fun and cool which is what I want when I am struggling at the gym.

You know how usually you walk into a gym and some trainer asks you your goals, daydreams while you reply and then tells you why your goals are unrealistic but stick with them anyway, as they give you the same program they give everyone else and try to sell you their protein powder? Jason is the antithesis of that guy.

For the last four years training with Jason one-on-one I noticed a vast improvement not only on physique, but also my health . This is coming from someone who has practically never stepped into a gym for the past 27 years resulting in poor weight management and eating habits. It was hard work at first, but nothing worthwhile is. The years of dedication have lead to not only losing 20 pounds, but also significant muscle gains that are here to stay.

The very unique thing about his training is that he stresses form and technique rather than just adding load indiscriminately and haphazardly.
