Coach John is amazing, he creates a warm and welcoming and environment suitable for kids and adults. The classes are put together well to target whatever your goals may be with boxing. Whether it's preparing for an upcoming fight, getting a good workout, or just wanting to know how to fight; coach John has you covered. Plus there's 2 locations and the one in San Luis Obispo is 24/7, you really can't ask for more.

It’s been a great experience training at JLD Boxing. The best boxing gym on the Central Coast. The coaches are motivating, experienced, and professional.

My son would struggle coming out of his bubble he tried other sports and he would let me know he felt like he didn't fit in but, when he came to this gym and met his coaches and made new friends and the environment was great he felt the vibe after the first 3 days he was pumped idk what they told him to motivate him or what happened that made him want to keep going now he's growing and like to go and spend his time there he is there everyday now 🤷‍♂️👍 thanks Dato & the Team John Dato

Awesome gym, Coach Dato’s super positive and supportive and it seems to rub off on everyone there. There’s lots of different bags to practice any type of punch, and other equipment and weights to practice drills, head movement and endurance, but nothing beats the energy in there, it really is a team. I joined JLD boxing in June of 2024. From the start everyone was super welcoming.John and all of his coaches have been amazing. They treat each member with complete respect and put the same amount of effort in to each student no matter the skill level. I already feel like my skills have improved and it's only been 2 months. Love it here, coaches are passionate about boxing and really push you to grow in the sport. From cardio sessions to 1-on-1 training, the gym has a lot of tools that will allow you to succeed. I like sparring here because the other members of the gym work with you if you're new and don't try to take your head off. The gym culture is very friendly and open to new members, all around great place to train.

John is a very enthusiastic coach. His energy is great for my son. My son comes out of every private training session with John wiped out and feeling confident. John has a way with him that encourages him to workout hard and they also have fun. John also has a caring attitude and makes him feel welcomed from the beginning. The owner was absolutely professional and well mannered. To my observation I found that he isn’t just in it for the money but he genuinely has a pure passion for the sport and wants to share his knowledge and experience to others.
