Paying for a membership I cannot use! The AC has not worked in several YEARS! Yes, years! There is ZERO air ventilation. Extremely difficult to workout in these conductions - in the summer with the heat and stench. In the winter it’s still warm and smells like a high school locker room with no deodorant. I’ve emailed corporate to get updates. In 2024 they responded “we’re looking into it.” It’s been 15 months since that email and nothing has been done. Even the employees have complained about the conditions. Really really sad to see. It’s such a simple fix - but they do not care. I’ve been a member at this location for 10 years. I will not renew when my card expires.

Girl with black hair tied up at the front desk extremely rude. I asked if I could use the restroom. She said it’s for members only, I said I’m pregnant can I please use the restroom by law you are required. She proceeded to tell me that I didn’t need to be rude funny because in fact she was being rude. Furthermore I went to the bathroom and it was disgustingly dirty! If you go to this gym I feel bad for you but actually I feel for this girl that hates her job where she stands around all day looking miserable.

I've gone to La Fitness in Mission Viejo a few times now, and my experience has been decent overall. One of the biggest perks is that it's rarely crowded when I visit, which means I don't have to wait for equipment and can get through my workout efficiently.

The layout of the gym is well-designed, with a good flow between different workout areas. This makes it easy to transition between exercises without wasting time. The staff members are also friendly and helpful whenever I've needed assistance.

Unfortunately, the sauna is a major letdown. It's dirty, showing signs of wear and tear, and only reaches about 160 degrees, which isn't hot enough for a truly therapeutic experience. The deteriorating condition of the sauna facilities really detracts from the post-workout relaxation that many gym-goers look forward to.

For a mid-range gym with reasonable amenities and uncrowded facilities, La Fitness Mission Viejo is adequate, but they really need to address their sauna situation.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Dropped my AirPods in the stair master and asked the guy at the front desk for help, he said no. So I asked for a screwdriver to just fish it out myself and he didn’t even get up from his chair to look for one or to grab a manager. It also smells strongly like sewage throughout the gym.

It's desperately in new of renovation. I thought when they closed in 2020 they'd take advantage of everything closing and empty and clean pool and jacuzzi. Nope. Tiles and surfaces inside pool are FILTHY. I WANT to use the pool but am afraid to. It ALWAYS smells of raw sewage in gym, keeps crowds down I guess. I CANNOT rerack plates over 10 lbs without risking reinjury yet members here REFUSE to rerack and front desk just grunts when asked for help. I prefer coming here because they have 6 or 8 machines for weight plates no other LA Fitness has but- when some jack off has left 75 plus lbs of weight plates and moved on with his day- they're useless for me. I moved close enough to Lake Forest one to easily bike so I go there now. Their pool is noto clean either, miss the Star Track machines, don't use pool or showers as moldy and dirty. At this point I'm better off at PF even though no pool- same price.

Man, I really want to give this place cigar rating, but it always smells like sewer gas on the inside. Tried it again today and it was OK. This Gym has everything you need. It’s very nice to have Tesla chargers right under and also have a theater and a restaurant upstairs. The gym however does need to upgrade some of the machines that they have about the gym. It’s quiet late afternoons it’s not too busy like other gyms where there’s too many people you can’t even work out you have to wait for a machine, however, also be aware. Don’t leave anything in your car this week there was a break-in in don’t leave anything visually inside your car cause there was a break-in. There are some cameras outside. I would suggest they upgrade the machines maybe have someone at night cleaning more other than customer service at night is amazing. The guy on the Door always does an amazing job saying hello to everyone, very convenient next to the freeway and gas station right across they don’t have kids club, which is a downside. I hope they bring it back soon.!!!!

I had an extremely disappointing experience with the LA Fitness Crown Valley branch. I signed up for a two-month membership starting on August 2024, paying nearly $60 for the initial fee and $70 for the two months. Despite this, they charged my account for two additional $35 payments without my permission. When I reached out to them to request a refund, they ignored my request, showing zero respect for their customers. And they don't reply my emails.

The gym itself is in poor condition. The pool, showers, and locker areas are consistently dirty, making it an unpleasant experience to use the facilities. Additionally, the moment you walk in, you're hit with a horrible odor that seems to be coming from a faulty sewer system. It’s honestly unbearable and makes you want to turn around and leave immediately. If they don’t address these issues, I’m sure they’ll lose many more customers.

I would not recommend this gym to anyone. It’s been a huge disappointment, from the unauthorized charges to the terrible state of the facility. Save your money and find a gym that actually respects its members and keeps its space clean.

Erin who teaches Body works at Crown Valley LAF is the worst instructor with a bad attitude. Very unfriendly , stuck up attitude . She teaches school kids, so she thinks paying members are little school kids that she needs to control, If you modify she gives you an attitude. Alan, the manager, has done ZERO regarding the 80+ degree heat in the gym. AC been broken down for weeks and it’s too hot and nasty in there to workout. A couple industrial fans would be nice but he could really care less. I called and left three messages and he has yet to return my calls. I’m paying a membership that I can’t use. The other gyms are too over crowded because people are using those properties instead. A few weeks ago they had zero sanitary supplies to wipe the equipment as well. I think we need new management. In addition, the place reeks of sewage.

This gym is great I’ve been going here for 8 years now. People tend to talk bad about this gym but don’t understand it’s the only business keeping the mall opened. Staff is nice and do their best to help you out. It can be warm sometimes which some complain about to which I don’t understand. You go to the gym to sweat and work out. Only real downside to this gym is the pansy fruitcakes complaining about anything they can think of.

Went today with 3 of my friends and we used the 3 day guess and they stopped us to “sign a waiver” but we did not have our IDs because we are 17 then they started to get aggressive and mad at us calling us “little kids” saying we’re abusing the system when all we did was wanted to is work out. It’s very annoying having to deal with workers with power complex and who have issues with themselves that take it out on other customers. I understand it’s hard to work with people but this is your job and you should treat people with respect even if they give you problems. I would understand if me and my friends where being rude but all we tried to do was find a way around it and they started to get mad. Sorry that we are a group of young men want make a better version of themselves. Not trying to mess things up. So I don’t understand why they had to be rude and aggressive.

I was pressured to sign a Personal Training contract. They utilized the whole "I promise if you sign today, you will have this trainer." The trainer is no longer there and they will not let me out of the contract. And, from what I understand, the trainers do not have any certifications or background in the matter. I love this place and go daily, but it's been about 2 weeks that the jacuzzi is out of order which needs to be fixed ASAP. They're losing so many members due to this. I tried to use the Alicia location while this gets fixed, but that was even worse

Tried and true LA Fitness
Equipment is dated and styling is a bit old but the gym is clean and taken care of. They have all the standard equipment plus a swimming pool, basketball court, and dry sauna. No Olympic lifting stations or racketball here and for the price you pay for LA Fitness, you’d expect the lates and greatest. However, it’s a solid gym that is not crowded often, which is a big plus for me. I can usually get bench press or squat rack, even during busier hours.
Keep in mind this particular location always smells a bit like sewage but not sure LA Fitness can help that.

The other MAJOR issue is the music. Jesus christ, turn it DOWN. Everyone uses their own music these days. This LA fitness has pop music on loud enough to go straight through 1st gen Airpod Pro noise cancellation. Come on management…

The lighting is slightly too dark. The place is a little too hot for a gym, but that’s standard fare.

The one advantage of this gym is that’s nearly empty all the time. Very few people come to a smelly gym I suppose haha.

It feels terrible wasting so much money at one location to move to such a lower quality location. I hope management turns down the AC and the music. That might even reduce their sewage smell…

Could use some maintenance. Doors in pool are rusted, pool has several stains on wall, men's bathroom stall is clogged, men's bathroom hairdryer was missing for a long time. Overhead tiles in men's lock room stained, one TV doesn't work, this list is way too long.

A few things are fixed, still lots to be done. Most of the soap dispensers in men showers are gone, so bring your own soap or body cleaner!

My daughter went here to use the 3 day pass they offer. The actual gym is decent but REEKS of sewage and the equipment is not wiped down enough. After working out, she was sat down and almost forced into a membership. David was very rude and even had the audacity to comment on the cleanliness of other gyms saying, "You want to go there? I have had issues with this company and this location. I was a member for almost 10 years, and yet they make it difficult to cancel. The employees probably get it just as bad as the customer as they seem beaten down, and you cannot cancel without going into your home gym, which is a huge pain.

I made sure to cancel before the pandemic, and yet once the gym reopened I started getting recharged again. I was pretty upset, as the corporate call center was blowing up my phone and started talking about sending me to collections (over like $30..) even though I sent them paperwork that I canceled. I had to go into my home gym again to cancel, and the employee had the nerve to charge me for the month and offer to waive the '$5 late fees' for a membership I never used.

It has been months since this happened, but I want to let it be known you have lost a customer for life LA fitness. You won't let me cancel without being physically at my home gym, but you sure didn't have a problem charging me when I hadn't been at my home gym for months, after I had already tried to cancel. Then I had to pay for a membership I hadn't even used.

I'd honestly go to planet fitness over this place. At least they will let you cancel, and not try and take advantage of the pandemic and their customers.

I went first thing in the morning so everything looked very very clean. The staff was friendly and answered my question regarding the machine wipe-down procedure. Wipe it down when you're done!

It was my first time to this location and so had to ask another user where I could find a restroom. There may be signage, but I did not see any (Mgmt might want to look into this, unless I just didn't see it).

It's kind of a weird layout with cardio, weights, machines all on 'ground floor' of entry. You walk a very long way for main restrooms downstairs where courts and pool and showers are. I think there were also HIIT setups down there.

The Zumba class with Azadeh was terrible. She was so catty and critical toward a few of the women she singled out in the class. Almost like there was a personality disorder going on. Hard to be around so I didnt stay in her zumba class very long. This LA Fitness club is decent otherwise, my wife and I just recommend another instructor or another fitness activity.

Beware of their staff! They tell you amazing things about the club, offer you a lot of deals and never follow up! I decided to try them out and they charged me $95 for a pass which would be refunded if cancelled within 14 days. I ended up cancelling my membership and was told I was getting my refund. Turns out they never cancelled it and now they still charging monthly fees without even notifying me. They don’t offer help at all, never going with them again

I chose this gym because it's super close and as a AAA member, the initiation fee was waved. It's always clean, it has a good selection of machines, and the front desk people are very friendly. I like their early morning cycle classes because they work best with my schedule, but they're only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'd prefer more early morning classes on other days, so that's why I'm giving them 4 stars.

Barely crowded and basketball courts are sparingly used. Management needs to replace the basketballs and maintain the courts as it's dusty and slippery at times.

Worst gym that you can pick. The management is always is always trying to talk you into a more expensive package and they WILL tell you LIES. When i was finally over this gym. I canceled my membership and asked for a refund that they billed me for the following month. They didn’t said it say on ur agreement that u have to give a notice 5 days before the billing due date. When he brought out the the agreement it said that if it was even less than 5 days i will get billed but that bill will get refunded. WORST GYM EXPERIENCE.

This place just spent over 50,000 in renovations plus new equipment .all workout floors are very nifty but downside to the place are the sorry,unhealthy bathroom and shower areas.nothing was upgraded,soap dispensers are flimsy plastic some not working shower heads not functioning right and the tile floor and tiled walls still display the nastiest case of very black mildew and mold anyone would think the tile grout is black but it isnt so it used to be very light sandy grey.the mens shower still experiences a fowl odor from the drain areas in shower floors and no curtains are present but,the least because if they were hanging then,they too would be moldy.im not sure about the ladies locker room but,the mens locker area is
in dire need of proper sanitizing and desinfecting!!!

this gym is decent in terms of machines etc but my gosh why must we all suffer in the community workout classroom when dudes have the audacity to use a private speaker to blast their music!! every time I come there is at least one dude doing this stuff. why is this allowed. No private speakers should be used in a community gym . just use over the ear wireless head phones!!! I don’t want to hear your vulgar music.

also why does it smell ? I started using this gym because the Alicia branch is in renovation and at first I thought it was just a one-time thing but nope it smells each time....hope they fix it. bleh

Gym has a sewer problem. Really smells. They've been saying they would fix for several years. Turns out they are in lawsuit with landlord. Won't be fixed anytime soon. Shame, because it's my favorite LA Fitness gym.
